Sorual 607 Posted July 24, 2013 i fineshed bbs a while ago and i realized that it was a lot darker than the other titles. i liked it but nowhere near as much as i like the others. dont you think that its a bit too dark for a kh game? im worried becouse kh3 has the same antagonist and i think that means it will be darker. i hope nomura decides that it might be too dark for kh. one of the reasons i like kh so much is becouse its heartwarming and dramatic. do you guys like the whole idea of bbs being a dark game? do you think kh3 will be as dark? by dark i mean less jokes and color sometimes. (just look at the keyblade graveyard) i like games being dark too but i think bbs is just a little bit too dark. i like ff7 and that games dark. so again do you guys like the whole idea of bbs being a dark game? do you think kh3 will be as dark? 1 DAMN reacted to this
Connected 978 Posted July 24, 2013 for me, it could be much darker.
Demyx. 10,064 Posted July 24, 2013 I don't find it to be that dark. But in the whole series there is a lot of talk about darkness... 2 Kishira and The Protagonist reacted to this
Dracozombie 4,554 Posted July 24, 2013 If it's dark, it's because it's the start of all the bad things that happen in the series. Of course things wouldn't go well in that game. KH3, on the other hand, is the end of the saga, where all the bad stuff will be fixed. 1 Reyn reacted to this
Dave 5,715 Posted July 24, 2013 Actually, I think it's one of the least dark games in the series. It's only dark on the surface, and I don't feel there's enough substance underneath the first layer to really give the same sense of foreboding and dread that KH1, CoM, and even Days had. 1 Ghost reacted to this
Caity 3,946 Posted July 24, 2013 I don't think it's dark, having an unfortunate ending doesn't make it automatically darker. They just didn't end all hunky dory like people expected. When I actually got to the end of it I thought there was more to do to get the real ending where everyones saved, but no. 1 Dave reacted to this
panosgate7 52 Posted July 24, 2013 It's awesome just because it's dark and I would like KH3 to be much darker...BbS wasn't dark enough for me!!!
The_eternal_nothing 586 Posted July 24, 2013 NEVER TOO DARK it was the best game in the series
Mog 97 Posted July 24, 2013 I think the series probably needed this. None of the other titles left you feeling so bad after finishing it as this one. Besides, we'll probably get a happy ending for kh3(like we did for kh1 and kh2), but if not bittersweet at best.

Shard the Gentleman 2,891 Posted July 24, 2013 The series overall can get pretty dark if you measure every detail.

The Protagonist 332 Posted July 24, 2013 I wouldn't mind If the entire series went with a more dark tone because 'Darkness is eternal"Kh will never end MUHAHAHAHA.
Sakuraba Neku 660 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) KH isnt directly aimed to kids but everyone. In the next saga i hope it gets darker. About KH3, would be a little lame if in a battle between 7 vs 13, none of the seven "died"... Buttercup Camera 229 Posted July 24, 2013 Well, Kingdom Hearts can't be always fun and happyness, it also needs a story and something that'll motivate you or even make you cry. 'Birth By Sleep' was a great Game. One of the best on the entire franchise. I sure loved it a lot. Still play it, like I do with all of the other titles. Yeah, the story was a bit darker, but it had to be that way to make sense. They couldn't live happily ever after, could they? Also, the KH game that was too colorfull or too happy was 'KH: Dream Drop Distance'. To be honest, a lot of colours just ruin the game, but it's understandable. _ To be honest, I think that KIngdom Hearts III will join a lot of emotions together. The game itself has to dark, 'cause it will be the Final Battle and all... but I believe that it will be like, Kingdom Hearts I and II. _ Don't worry about the dark stuff, though. Kingdom Hearts has a lot of ways to end or to start. About KH3, would be a little lame if in a battle between 7 vs 13, none of the seven "died"... I agree. Someone has to die... or else it will be way too easy for them and a bti disapointing. We can see that Square lieks to make sad stuff, so I'm sure that a mian character will die. Probably Riku... 2 Rob and Mog reacted to this
Sakuraba Neku 660 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) i dont see anyone of the classic trio "dying", so that leaves sora kairi and riku out. Its impossible to mickey be "killed". (Disney would kill square right away) I think Isa must be safed and then wouldnt make sense if lea wasnt there for him. Im betting on terra after a heroic sacrifice. EternalChange 303 Posted July 24, 2013 I think the only reason people think it dark is because of the ending. KH3 won't be nearly as dark, everyone's gonna get saved---not to mention Sora's in the game. (Sora!)
EternalReckoning 1,135 Posted July 24, 2013 kh has a dark deep plot, it wouldnt work if it was happy clappy. Do you think the events that have transpired thus far would fit into a childish happy and perfect world? not to mention children need a taste of real media, studio ghibli is all ages and that can be deep and dark, not to mention full of meaning
Rob 5,571 Posted July 24, 2013 Considering it sets up the series, its suppose to be dark.
PrinceNoctis 1,011 Posted July 25, 2013 BBS is not dark at all...It's more serious than the other games but that's okay since the KH audience is growing up.
VeNate13 144 Posted July 25, 2013 I wouldn't say too dark.
Squall Leonhart 49 Posted July 25, 2013 No. If anything i would love Kingdom hearts 3 to be dark and a bit more serious while still keeping the humor in (which i think BBS did perfectly) also kingdom hearts is about exploring the heart and sadness needs to be apart of that
Guro540 7 Posted July 25, 2013 (edited) I wish BBS was darker. I hope that only one of the trio makes it in the end, or the end of Birth By Sleep will lose some of its impact on subsequent play troughs of it for me. Realistically though, I know in the end they'll all come back because Nomura has to please the fans, and I don't really mind because I'm probably in the minority on this one. DAMN 80 Posted September 23, 2013 (edited) I find it to be very dark, dull and depressing...it's one of the reasons I'm turned off by BBS KH Games have always been a bit dark ofc...but holy shit...BBS has such a freaking creepy and unpleasant atmosphere to it they just feels so freaking wrong You don't feel the friendship between the 3 characters, they all split in their own ways,Eraqus tells Aqua to keep an eye on Terra cuz he doesn't trust him,Ventus gets taken advantage of by MX,Terra gets fooled and used by MX,Ventus is about to get killed by Eraqus,Ventus tells Aqua and Terra to freaking kill him....I dare you to tell me this does not feel like a freaking Soap-Opera....overall the story and atmosphere is just really really unpleasant What was Nomura thinking? KH1 didn't freaking need a prequel...let alone one with a Keyblade War on it...it just doesn't feel right for KH to be this dark...but the damage is done Edited September 23, 2013 by DAMN
