Aqua Helping the Darks?

Recommended Posts

Okay okay okay, bear with me here.  First off, no, I don't believe Aqua will actually turn to Teh Dark Seid, BUT!  She came pretty damn close at one point, during her encounter with those three Dark Sides in the Realm of Darkness.  It's not a thought coming out of left field, and having looked at the previous thread of Vanitas possibly serving the Lights, I thought it'd be an interesting study to see how Aqua would fare, for whatever reason, as part of the Darknesses.

She may not part of the actual 13 Darknesses, but let's assume she's an ally.  So, let's pretend Aqua had actually given into the darkness, perhaps not literally, but finally just giving up.  After all, look at her situation: she's been alone for Kingdom Hearts knows how long, her master is dead, the last she saw one friend was when Master Xehanort had possessed him, and the other friend was comatose in a castle, which is the transformed remains of her destroyed home.  She has no idea what's going on in the Realm of Light, has no one to talk to, has not found a way back to her home and friends... yeah, it's no wonder she considered giving up.

So, she does.  Then what?  Well, this is the part where I'd put a multi-paragraph post detailing my thoughts, but this time I don't have any ideas. =P Maybe after I get your input.

Dark!Aqua.  Let's hear it.  Or see it, in this case.

I need to ask, are you basing these thoughts off of when Aqua seems like she's going to give up, or just for all time in Kingdom Hearts thus far?  If it's the latter, you've neglected the fact that she has Ansem the Wise to talk with, and she knows about Sora's feats in the realm of light.  Just thought I'd put that in the air. :P

Yeah, when Aqua seems like she's going to give up.  The scene with the Dark Sides took place before she met Ansem (if I recall), so let's assume, during that point in time, Aqua just gave up.

Hahaha that is my picture!  Though yes, I find it far more than likely that Aqua will be a villain in KHIII.  10+ years alone in the Realm of Darkness, surrounded by nothing but monsters, will do a lot to you.  Plus she was completely busted.  Square doesn't make characters that good without turning them evil at some point.  Look at Kain.

please remember though, that scene was also included with Ven sitting up and shouting "Sora".  It was a theoretical situation designed to be a shoutout to the main franchise.  It was more of a "Hey there is still a reason to smile amidst all this tragedy" than an actual scene.

Well a Dark-Aqua is an awesome concept, far-fetched, but still awesome.  Assuming she has had 10+ years of darkness, I would assume that her thought processes are probably a little "backwards", to fit in with the isolated in darkness theme.  Knowing that, she probably would have a VERY difficult time trusting anyone (assuming she escapes the Dark Realm somehow).  I could only really see Kairi being the one individual she could find some trust in, in that their "hearts" have been relatively close compared to that of, say Donald or Goofy.  (Not to say that Sora, Riku, or Mickey aren't worthy for a similar bond, I suppose it's more for the sake of giving Kairi her own unique advantage in the story). I would also assume her form of darkness would be one like Terra had, only amplified, all due to Xehanort ruining her friends' lives, and causing the "death" of Eraqus.  This might provide a goal for this theoretical character story line-wise. I guess that's all I can think of for now.

its the angle and the skin tight outfit.

Aqua hates Darkness! It destroyed everything she had! She would never give into it.

I actually explained all of this in an old thread back just before KH 3D.  I'll see if I can re find it.

That picture... hot damn. But in all due seriousness, let's hope that doesn't happen.

thanks,As for Dark Aqua, I really want to see it happen.  It would make for one amazing boss battle and an interesting mechanic when you get her back.

I found the thread, it is very old an very out of date, but the character analysis remains the same.  Its a good read if you are interested and if you want I will be more than happy to update my theory and represent it with current story taken into account.

Interesting possibility, but I can't see it. Aqua witnessed first hand what the darkness did to Terra and she's too strong willed to succumb to that. That being said, you have to establish what you mean as ''giving it to the darkness''... I think it was implied in Birth By Sleep that Aqua had no darkness in her heart, thus why Vanitas was referring to her as 'backup plan' incase Ventus messed up or was unavailable. She can't give in to what she doesn't have. But if you meant letting the heartless attack her and take over her heart because she was fed up, I don't see it. She managed to last 10 years and after the hope given to her by Ansem the Wise, she's definitely still determined that she'll finally escape the RoD.

The possibility is sound

First the the fact that she has been in the darkness for so long may have affected her

Second at the secret ending of bbs I believe, we saw aqua open up her heart in the darkness with the whole sora thing

And third, this would be another plot point that would me very tantalizing for a troll like nomura to play with our emotions with

errrrrrr... No

This. Please just keep Aqua the benevolent Keyblade master with the hot bod. But seriously, Aqua is one of my favorite keyblade wielders and I can only hope she's the same in KHIII as she was in BBS.
