Reyn 1,755 Posted July 18, 2013 Final Fantasy XIII-2 was a great game, that was more like the previous numbered titles. The story was good, a bit confusing thanks to time traveling, but still good. The gameplay was Active Time Battle, like previous entries. There was more free roam in the game, not a hallway like XIII, and alot of areas to explore. Yet, even though XIII-2 fixed alot of the problems that caused people to hate XIII, alot of people still dislike the game. Why is that? 3 Dio Brando, Ultimus Grid and Imoore4 reacted to this

Xiro 3,468 Posted July 18, 2013 I haven't played XIII or XIII-2, so I can't say whether they're good or not, but I think it's just a matter of opinion.
The_eternal_nothing 586 Posted July 18, 2013 I personally loved both games people hate it because of its nding and the fact that you didn't buy a dlc you were kind of lost
Taeyeon 1,137 Posted July 18, 2013 Most people that I talked to said it was because of the time travel. Though the gameplay vastly improved the story was a bit off for new comers since they just had to time travel for no reason in their eyes.
Oishii 3,987 Posted July 18, 2013 It's still turn-based! Actually, I don't really hate it. I know when a game isn't for me. It's still a beautiful game and I'm sure it's fun for people who like to wait 10 seconds for their character to finally decide, "Hey, maybe I should attack the enemy now." 1 Reyn reacted to this
bat12 3 Posted July 18, 2013 You got me personally I enjoyed both games and I've played most of the numbered titles in the series I also heard a complaint a while back that 13 1 was to short but it took me two months to beat though I was only able to play every two weeks due to at the time sharing a room with my sisters something that I'm happy to say is no longer an issue now that we've moved and I finally have my own room again

Tails 6,692 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) Well I kinda hate it because the gameplay looks crappy to me(except in LR: FF XIII). But I'm going to give FF XIII-2 a chance since I'm hyped for Lightning Returns so I'll try and get it before LR comes out. kinagirl101 48 Posted July 18, 2013 I liked both. Personally liked the second one better. So super excited for LR though <333 Dress-spheres! I mean Garbs and paradigm shifts! Costumes are supposed to be fully customizable too ;w; <

The gameplay is decent when you try it out, it helps with strategizing in certain parts, since you have the 6 roles. Its only 20 bucks anyway. You could buy it at a store, or download it off PSN. I'm glad some people are giving the game a chance. I understand now, it's just a matter of opinion really. I understand when someone has a logical reason for not liking it, like if they hate the gameplay, or don't like the story, or just plain don't like RPG's. Fine i can accpet that. But when someone hates it who hasn't given it a chance, and just hates it because they're fanboys who like a certain other game and think the rest are stupid, that's when it pisses me off. Seriously. Sora96 17,256 Posted July 18, 2013 Because the Xbox fanboys got annoyed by the lower resolution and three discs. Well tough luck shit box fanboys, you chose the shitbox so you must put up with it. 1 Reyn reacted to this

xxClouDxxmoon 901 Posted July 18, 2013 I dont see any reason to like it. Is was terrible like the first game, maybe some of the parts seem better, but its still a terrible game. LR looks, again, better. But I'm afraid when I go to play it I'll dislike it aswell. I will give LR a try mainly because it looks different to the others, although that bonus Cloud costume/weapon pissed me off. A series that has pissed off its fanbase and they take part of (debatedly) the best game in the world. It seems they are milking FFVII to make LR more appealing to the FF fanbase. 1 Setrex reacted to this

The only thing you can argue is bad about FFXIII is the linear gameplay. And if you can't enjoy the Lightning trilogy I say bad luck. You're missing out. 1 Reyn reacted to this

You're missing out.The battle system is also pathetic and made for disabled people, the characters were absolutely boring and fake, and overall it would have turned out better as a movie, not a game. PrinceNoctis 1,011 Posted July 18, 2013 Probably because of the confusing story. But we, KH fans, can understand anything. I mean, I've never seen a story as complicated as KH. If you understand KH, you understand everything.
Oblivion21 29 Posted July 19, 2013 Yeah it kinda is. Unless you hate the characters and the story too. ...Exactly. You can dislike the game for its characters and story, not only linear gameplay. 1 Reyn reacted to this
Isaix 924 Posted July 19, 2013 Yeah it kinda is. Unless you hate the characters and the story too. That was my biggest problem with XIII,I didn"t like most of the characters,so when I was playing parts with ONLY Vanille and Sazh for exemple it was boring as hell for me.As for XIII-2,I don"t really know them and how they evolve though the game, but from everything I"ve seen so for,I doesn"t look much better, except for caius of course and the gameplay is pretty much the same. XIII-2 didn"t really fix my problems with XIII
Setrex 1,031 Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) While XIII-2 fixed problems that XIII did have it still had, terrible characters (seriously Serah is so irritating), the story was absolutely dreadful and using time-travel is a lame plot device (yes that even goes for you KH3D) and the combat was still just as bad as the previous game except now it has Mog and those enemies you can get. People are allowed to have opinions and hate things if they want. Just because they fixed certain problems from the previous game doesn't mean people should love SE and proclaim them as new gods or something. XIII-2 is still a bad game to a lot of people. It's a good game to others and that's the way it'll always be. Edited July 19, 2013 by KHSoraKeyBlade 1 Isaix reacted to this
Squall Leonhart 49 Posted July 28, 2013 i don't hate XIII-2 i'm just not going to give it a chance it wasn't the linearity or the gameplay that turned me away from 13 it was the characters and story that i hated
