Amon 4,279 Posted July 4, 2013 In all seriousness let us celebrate what it means to be an American. To value honor, generosity, and above all, liberty. America has been a beacon of hope for millions, bringing the tenants of tolerance and freedom to world. On this day, dozens of men signed a document that stood for the mentioned values, with full knowledge that they would be sent to oblivion if their quest to achieve said values had failed. This Declaration of Independence is more than a piece of paper, it's America's birth certificate. We must never forget that this freedom is never free. Achieving it ourselves, and bringing it to others has always been a struggle. This has been a struggle that we overcame and now stand proud on this earth among other great nations. The sacrifices our countrymen have made created the glorious nation we have today.
