Lalalablah 1,539 Posted June 29, 2013 I haven't played this game yet, only seen cutscenes on YouTube, but I was wondering, what is the fighting with cards thing like? Annoying or do you get used to it?

And its fun to make sleights and think about what you'll do next. Its really nice to card break enemies when they're about to attack you, so you can make it so they can never hurt you in the whole battle. 2 alldayeveryday1234 and Lalalablah reacted to this
ilias ioannou 26 Posted June 29, 2013 Still haven't played re:com but with 1.5 releasing in a few months I'm sure I'll get used to the card system.
Caity 3,946 Posted June 29, 2013 I also having played it yet (living in EU) and am waiting for 1.5 to fully enjoy it (refrained myself from watching let's plays or cutscenes cause I know I'm getting it) but I figure the card system will be something you'll just get used to, at first it'll be irritating but if you played through the game twice back to back the second time wouldn't be so annoying since you have a grasp of the controls. A lot of people don't like it, for one game in the series I see no problem with it.
_The Door To Light_ 1,507 Posted June 29, 2013 You get used to it. It takes a lot of strategy and skill.
Jim 2,990 Posted June 29, 2013 It's a lot of fun, actually. There's good strategy to it.
SkullMajora 28 Posted June 29, 2013 It's fun if you know what you're doing. However, once you get to a certain point, it becomes difficult and tedious. I had to rely on a deck made from Sonic Blade sleights, cures, and Hi-Potions after "reaching" Neverland. The final boss isn't exactly fun if you don't know what you're doing. If you're terrible at the game, then you could use a deck made from alternating 0s and 9s. Reverse/Rebirth is really fun and in some ways easier. Flying Cattle 48 Posted June 29, 2013 I was not a fan of it at all in the beginning, but once you get used to them and learn how to use them effectively (combos and junk) it becomes a lot of fun because you feel really strong and begin to wreck everything. 1 Tigerruss reacted to this
xxClouDxxmoon 901 Posted June 29, 2013 I havnt had much experience but I dont really like it. Probably just because I love the original battle system so much. 1 King.Mickey reacted to this
Epic KH Fan_13 64 Posted July 1, 2013 Its awesome trust me You just forget about gameplay in other games and play it like this...you'll enjoy it
Cyber Shaman 990 Posted July 4, 2013 Ive actually enjoyed it because it came with endless amounts of badass sleights that you can only see in this game. I mean who wouldn't want to warp a heartless into another dimension?
xoblivionx13 1,133 Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) At first it was very irritating because of all the combos and card limits but as you progress through the game it becomes much easier. You have to learn how to mold the right deck for certain tasks and battles as well as quickly make a good combo move. Hey it can't be all that bad, my addition skills and reaction time got better by the end Now that I look back on it, the gameplay was quite unique and enjoyable ^^ Edited July 4, 2013 by xoblivionx13
Taeyeon 1,137 Posted July 4, 2013 Never tried it, a friend of mine said he hated it with a pure a burning hatred, but he said you just get used to it and you can become pretty bada*** with it.
EternalReckoning 1,135 Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) i personally felt it was one of the most innovative rpg game battle styles i had ever seen, but certain bosses like the riku replica card break you so much you throw your hat down and stamp on it. i only played the gba version, i'm from europe, but from what i've seen the two games play pretty much the same. Shulk 8,623 Posted July 4, 2013 Starts out frustrating, but when you can learn how to manage it, it's actually really cool.

XxCobaltxX 321 Posted July 17, 2013 Chain of memories was the first KH game i played, my older brother some gameboy games for it, and ended up not liking it, so i picked it up, and loved it, i loved the disney charecters, and since CoM is all a lie, it kinda revealed a MindF*ck kind of thing when i first heard about the other kh games
PrinceNoctis 1,011 Posted July 21, 2013 I never played but a part of fans say it's the worst system in the series while the other part loves it!

I played both versions, and for the most part some sleights become more useful in true 3D and some become less useful. Similarly with boss battles some became easier, others became harder. Also there are some fun new sleights. Though two changes are annoying. Instead of just having to leave and reenter rooms to get moogle points again, you have to make new rooms. Another minor announce is what I think is a glitch, imagine a grid with 4 rooms (numbered clock wise) you go from room 1 to 2 to 3 to 4. Now the door from 4 to 1 isn't open and you have to remake room one to get that pathway open. (in the GBA version the doorways auto opened)And yeah, I agree with a lot of people in this thread that the battle-system was pretty good once you got used to it.
