Skai 3,961 Posted June 26, 2013 (edited) As you may know from KH3D, Xehanort has been trying to gather 13 Seekers of Darkness, 13 Xehanorts, for his ultimate plan. Well, what if one of the Xehanorts he recruited, became good and became a light instead? Well this fanfic will be just about that, a sort of redemption to Xehanort. I think you'll enjoy the twists that I have in store for you. Young Master Xehanort - YMX Main Character Xehanort - X Update 1: I decided to add music to the chapters. I felt it befitting for Kingdom Hearts. Of course, since it's Kingdom Hearts, I will only be using music relating to Kingdom Hearts. Update 2: Since I want to keep it true to Kingdom Hearts, I will try not to add any swearing and keep it PG to PG-10 if possible. But we'll see. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1: The Fifth Vessel First Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5ydhcIhLbM "Thirteen versions of myself...restless souls that have been ruined completely by the most past version of me. Did I really succumb to the darkness just like that? And what's with those rehearsed lines? It's as if they planned those out, also. Well, YMX is definitely something..." X sat in the midst of nowhere. He was a bit lost and somewhat intimidated by the structures that surrounded him. In all directions, there were two story buildings that stood to block his vision. He could not see even a quarter mile ahead and the sand that was in contact with his bottom did not make it any better. Regardless, he did not move. His thoughts plagued his very mind. There was nothing else that could distract him. Time is immovable. The words echoed in the deep recesses of the boy's mind. Out of all of the black cloaked figures, he knew he was the youngest. He remembered the confrontation clearly, recalling what had happened with those other light filled bodies. From what he recalled, he remembered YMX had been explaining the details of their plan to a boy named Riku. He wondered why it was necessary to explain the full extent of their plans to Riku and later on, Mickey and the others. He felt it to be a little staged and forced. But that's what it exactly was, for Master Xehanort's plan was to lure the Guardians of Light into their intricately woven web. They had taken the bait. "Why am I even worrying about this?"X was only one year younger than YMX, but how was this possible? As YMX clearly stated, he could only move forward, as per the laws of time. It bothered him. "The thirteenth vessel...If I recall clearly, he muttered some words when he came to pick me up."He began to picture the events of that day. X was waking up near the fountains of Radiant Garden. It was a very peaceful place, ruled by a kind ruler that he could not remember himself. He knew the ruler was young, having to take over the throne after his father's sudden passing, but all he could recall was their similarity in age. Soon after his awakening, YMX appeared before him via a corridor of darkness, extending his right hand towards the boy. He gladly took the hand, but he was whisked away into the abyss. "You are our fifth." He started to analyze the situation. From that abyss of darkness to the different Xehanorts throughout time he met, he began to realize a recurring theme between all of them. They were all different vessels and not the real original Xehanort's body. And If what YMX said before was true, that there was no way to move backwards through time after arriving at the set destination, then he must be a vessel also. A body taken from someone else. But whose was he? His mind drew a blank. He could not find an answer. "Maybe he knows..." End Theme. Second Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iv3uRiOpY4 He stood up, leaving the cold, hard floors he had been warming up with his bottom, and made his way up the stairs. He was in a very peaceful place. A place where it seems there was never a morning or a night. The sun always stood tall, sending the perfect light rays towards this town he was in. After a bit of a climb, he made it to a sort of alley way with an open gate. X approached the gate and proceeded to flip the curtain that blocked the path just after it. Upon doing so, he was greeted with three strange faces. "What do you want?" a boy asked quite rudely. "Oh, nothing," X started hesistantly, "it's just...I'm a little lost." He said. "Can you please do me a favor and tell me where we are?""The usual spot...but this is our turf! Look, if Seifer sent you, tell him to just back off okay?" "Seifer? I mean place. The town. What is this town called?""Looks like you aren't from around here then... Twilight Town. I'm Hayner," the boy's hostility dissipated as he introduced himself. "X.""Nice to meet you X, I'm Pence."The last of the three was a girl sitting down, examining X. She was astonished by his devilish looks. "You're kind of..." She paused mid-sentence, losing herself in the boy's eyes. She shook herself off. "Anyways, I'm Olette." As X shook their hands, he explained his situation to the trio. He had been mysteriously dropped off in this town and he was looking for a way out of it. After some side chatter and other useless conversations that he did not mind to take part in, they eventually told him to take the train up at the plaza. Hayner, Pence, and Olette led the boy, just about the same age as them, up to the central station plaza. They were more than happy to pay for the ticket and saw off their newest friend. They had taken a liking to him and assured him that he was welcome any time. X stepped up to the train, engrossing himself at the peculiarities of it. The train had stars and crescents on it. It was yellow and purple. Just where did this train lead to? Grotesquery 603 Posted June 26, 2013 I think you have an interesting idea here, but there's definitely some room for improvement in the writing itself. To start with, I personally think you should have better established where exactly X was in the very beginning. I can understand if you were attempting to go for a bit of a mysterious or intriguing approach with that, but I can only understand to a certain degree. To be perfectly honest, refusing to set the scene where the very introduction takes place makes a lot of it really hard to envision and follow. Thankfully, you at least gave us some clarity a little further down the line, but I still think you could have done it earlier and with a bit more detail. There are also a few spots in the story where I noticed something, a few instances where the words used felt a bit off. For example, the opening line:"Thirteen versions of myself...restless souls that have been ruined ultimately by the most past version of me." I feel as though could have used a little bit of work, perhaps change "ultimately" to "completely"? I'm not entirely sure about this one though, because I read it through a few more times and it seemed to be fine after that. It was just the first instance reading it through that I felt like it kind of ruined the pace of the sentence, but maybe I'm just nit-picking with that one. I also feel as though you could offer more context with the character's speaking to each-other, because the conversations felt a little barren in this one. Instead of just typing down a sentence of dialogue and then moving on, try capping off that dialogue or interrupting it with a fleeting description of how the character's are feeling or how they're saying what they are. For example: Before: "Oh, nothing, it's just...I'm a little lost. Can you please do me a favor and tell me where we are?" After: "Oh, nothing," X started hesitantly, "it's just...I'm a little lost." He said. "Can you please do me a favor and tell me where we are?" Just something to think about if you feel like it. Just a bit of a heads up though, try not to go overboard with the descriptions. Keep them as sparse and brief as you can when they're involved with dialogue sequences, as you want those cases to be as flowing as possible. It could really break a reader's sense of immersion in the conversation if you're constantly interrupting the dialogue with overly-frequent and long, drawn out definitions of what the characters are doing. At the most, I think they should be used whenever a new character is talking in a sequence of dialogue among more than two people. Just experiment for a little bit, and try to find a happy balance. Other than that, I don't see much else that's particularly wrong here. You don't seem to have any problems with grammar, and the pacing seems to be fairly on-track and reasonably done. Like I said before, I like the idea of presenting Xehanort, or at least one of his vessels, in a sympathetic light, so I definitely think this is something you should try and continue. Hope this helps, Mancer

Skai 3,961 Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) Hope this helps, MancerThanks for the advice! I'll try to work on it on future chapters. Chapter 2: Friends First Theme: As X prepared to enter the very train that would take him away from this distant land, he looked back to see something he found quite odd. He was caught off guard by the sight that stood before him. Three strangers, that he was barely acquainted with, were on the verge of tears. He looked at their solemn eyes and couldn't do anything, but empathize with them. Hayner sniffed a rather large sniff. He wiped off his tears as he prepared to say goodbye to their new friend. "You know, we met this person named Sora before and we helped him get on this train too." "Huh?" X said, a little surprised. "Sora?" X began to think back and recalled the young boy, the thirteenth vessel, to be named Sora. "They know Sora?" He thought. "Yeah, he's a good friend of ours!" Pence said, gathering his composure, continuing the thought. "Even though we've only seen each other for a bit, it feels like there's this un-" "-breakable bond..." X said, finishing the rather large boy's sentence. "Yeah! But it's weird..." Hayner bobbed his head downward to the left, his eyes a little twitchy. "Even with a guy like that...I'd never cry." "Haha, Hayner," Olette added to the conversation. "It just means you're growing up! Remember when you and Roxas used to fight all the time?" "Roxas?" Hayner asked in confusion. "Hm, weird." Olette stood there, baffled by her own words. "I don't know why I said Roxas." Olette and Hayner stayed there, immensely quiet. They had no idea how the conversation led to this Roxas character, and it became irksome to the two. They could not come up with a conclusion as to who this person was. Pence rubbed his chin, also thinking. His eyes widened, signaling his sudden realization. "You know what? Sora was looking for Kairi back then...I hope he found her!" Pence said, commenting on a fact that seemed to not have mattered to X. "That's right!" Hayner confirmed his friend's words. "You know, you kind of look like her." "Me?" X asked. Olette examined him once again, closely as ever. Her head was tilted as she analyzed the boy's anatomy. "Yea! Like a male version of her." ~The train is departing in one minute. Please board the train now.~ "Woops, looks like that's you're cue to leave!" she ended her thought. "Yea..." X looked at the trio. Their eyes were saddened, prompting him to mirror their action. "I'll..." he looked down, knowing what he would say was just wishful thinking, and looked at the three friends again "...come back. I'm sure of it!" he finished, almost believing his own words. "Okay!" the three friends answered in unison. Their ecstatic voices broke the silent and sad mood and for the last time, they bid their new friend ado. And with that, X boarded the train. End Theme. Second Theme: The train ride was a bit dull, but the view compensated for it. Although he was the only one there and all of the seats were vacant, he stood near the exit. He looked out the window to see mountain rises and an odd colored sky. It was a golden brown and orange sky, a sky that matched the name of the town. It was true twilight, he thought. Soon, the tracks would leave the structures supporting it and connect with luminous tracks that floated. He immediately knew it was the work of magic. "So that's where I'm headed..." After a bit of time, he was dropped off at a floating island, something he was familiar with. He walked through the grass surrounded by a scenery of bushes and made his way a couple meters north, hitting the base of a structure. It was a bit mysterious, being as it was in the middle of nowhere, but it was definitely familiar to him. He thought of the place to be a light house, since it and it's resident, guided those who would ever come or pass by it. As he approached the tower, he had noticed it was slightly open and decided to just barge in. He went up the stairs. To his surprise, there were no special portals that blocked his path, making it very easy to reach the top. Not knowing what to expect once he made it to his destination, he pulled up his black hood and opened the door. The door moved ever so slowly and carefully, but even so, everyone in the room had noticed. There was a peculiar person with pointy hat with designs that matched the train he rode there. He seemed to be wise beyond his year, sitting down in his large chair. Another stood in front of him with a large rectangular table separating the two. It was a dark red-headed girl wearing pink clothing. Last, there was another red head with spiky hair, sitting in the corner, very casually. They all looked at him with uneasy eyes. "The Organization?" the girl asked, a bit surprised. "Ah! Yen!" X exclaimed, approaching the elder. End Theme. Third Theme: The other red head, a somewhat young man, from the corner, jumped up and summoned a variety of spinning fire with spiky monochrome designs encircling it in the form of rings. Just like the thorn-like rings, very sharp looking circular weapons appeared immediately after the flames were engulfed. They connected with two small metal rods in the middle that intersected to form the handles for the young man's hands. They were chakrams. "What do you want?" he asked X, a bit flustered. X stood there in awe. He did not know why this young man was so hostile. He looked at the other's eyes and realized his hood was still up and suddenly a flash of more memories from a confrontation not too long ago began to appear in his mind. From his memories, he deduced that the young man was named Lea. He had come earlier to help save the boy named Sora from well, them, the new Organization XIII. He knew this person should not be trifled with, as he was able to compete with even Isa, one of his very acknowledged superiors. He then looked at what he recognized to be Yen Sid, someone he remembered from what memories he had. From there, he concluded that Yen Sid had been tutoring a young man and a younger girl in what he did not know of, but at least he could grasp the situation a little better now. Knowing the direct course of action to take, X pulled his hood down. Yen Sid's eyes widened as he motioned Lea to stand down. Lea looked at him surprised, but eventually did as his master told him. The elder wizard stood up and followed the pattern of examining X's mug. And he immediately recognized this face to be also someone he knew. "Kai!" Chapter 3 coming soon! Will update more at a later date! New Chapter soon! So what do you guys think of the story so far? Chapter 3: Mastery Over Magic First Theme: "Kai!" Yen Sid said with the utmost surprise. He spun a perfect 180 degree turn counter clockwise, grabbing his blue colored robe and disappearing in a glimmer of light. The dark red-headed girl, Kairi, looked back at her master's disappearance and begun to panic. Lea did the same as he summoned his Keyblade again, facing X. Just where did their master go? "Kairi, keep your guard up!" Lea said. Kairi followed the young man's plea and summoned her very own Keyblade, the Destiny's Embrace. A very cutesy, flower covered Keyblade. She faced X, waiting for any instance of movement. Before X could respond to anything happening right in front of the boy, he felt a sudden jolt on his arm. Something had latched onto the inside of his elbows, pulling him inside a flash of light. "Ugh-" he said, not being able to stop everything that was happening. Kairi and Lea, in surprise, switched to a very instinctive mood and increased their cautiousness. Kairi started to pan the room, looking for any king of abnormality. She held her Keyblade in a perfect horizontal stance, clearly having received training since the day she was called to train under the master himself. Lea did the same, gauging the room in the opposite direction, counter clockwise. He jumped backwards, touching backs with Kairi. They stood vigilant. X disappeared in an instant being spun around in a daze until he was completely dizzy. Soon, he would land on steps in the middle of nowhere. He got up and patted his butt off, examining the place he had been brought to. It was none other than the intricate inside of the tower, the Wayward Stairs. It was a realm within the tower only accessible via Yen Sid's magic. He had created this realm to deal with threats and pose challenges to those who were too powerful for the Mysterious Power to withstand. X looked around him and noticed a huge oddity that would noted. There were many other stairs and doors that ended the steps in both sides all around the room, extending vertically upward everywhere. The stairs he was particularly on was in the direct middle and the only one that stood straight up. The others were upside down. He was dumbfounded at the sight, realizing there was only one real, logical solution, the set of stairs he was on, were the ones upside down. End Theme. Second Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ss0CCbVwubM The old wizard appeared before him in the same fashion of light as how he disappeared. "Ah! Kai, you haven't aged one bit!" X, noticing that he was in a calm environment, decided to talk to his old friend, but he wondered why Yen Sid had kept calling him Kai. As far as he knew, that was not his name. "Kai? I'm Xe- The strong nostalgia filled Yen Sid's mind as he continued his reunion with the young lad. "It is glad to see you old friend. Sadly, Master Eraqus is with us no more..." his faced saddened as the words came out of his lips. "Eraqus?" X asked. "Master Eraqus is supposed to be keeping guard of the Land of Departure! Master bequeathed it to him!" Kai exclaimed. He looked away as he realized a weird event happening between the two. He remembered another friend from the past, yet him himself was still a mystery to him. All he knew was that he was Xehanort himself. "It is a horrid fate, one that did not go unpunished. Master Xehanort was the culprit and to this very day, he stands to threaten the peace of all worlds." Kai's eyes widened as he listened to this information. "He has gathered seekers of darkness, all versions of him from different times and he will not stop until the X-Blade has been recreated. He has created a new form of the Organization XIII." X took a step back and couldn't help but realize that he was part of this organization. He was one of the culprits. And most of all, he was one of the ones that took one of his fellow pupil's lives. The guilt engulfed him as he immersed himself in an abundance of stress. "What have I done?" Regaining the miniscule leftovers of his composure, he decided to bring up the topic at hand. "That's why I showed up here. I wanted to ask about Xehanort." Yen Sid prepared to answer his friend, staring deeply into his eyes. And that's when he noticed it. His companion's eyes were a very ominous shade of yellow. Yen Sid started to piece everything together as his eyes shifted to X's hair. Most of it was the color of white and silver, only leaving behind small streaks of dark red, his original hair color. Xehanort... Everything about X reminded him of it. The eyes. The hair. And most of all, the over powering stench of darkness. Being the one who keeps track of the tides between light and darkness, Yen Sid was familiar with this aura and he knew exactly what was happening. Yen Sid moved his hands to the center of his body, forming a circle with his hands. End Theme. Third Theme: "So Yen, old buddy!" X said, noticing the circle. "What can I do to he-" Before X knew it, he was sent flying. Moments before this, Yen Sid had cast a strong focused Aeroza spell, strong enough to tear apart the highest levels of heartless. He was indeed serious. X flew back, falling down the stairs, which happened to actually be upward. He rolled furiously, sticking his hand out to grab the small ledge of the stairs and cast his own Aero spell. It was small. Only big enough to prop himself back up. Realizing that there was no use in talking, X had to calm his buddy down. Brawn was the only way to solve this now and he knew it. X pushed both his feet together and leaped vertically downwards, falling in the air. Yen Sid stuck both his hands out, producing lightning powered balls, Thundaza Orbs. "Smite!" he yelled as millions of projectiles flew from his very palms. It was getting intense and X had to respond. X, flipped and bounced off of the air to jump back up. It was an amazing sight. Using his expertise over magic, almost strong enough to rival the master of magic himself, Yen Sid, he used an accurately powered Aero spell to propel himself towards the orbs. "Slowza! Take this, gather!" yelled X. He stuck out his hands, just like his friend and cast both of his spells in succession. The projectiles started to slow immensely, gaining the speed comparable to that of a snail. The spell afterwards gathered all of the balls of lightning together into an even more massive orb. It was a more advanced form of the spell known as Magnega, Magneza. The two continued their spat, all the while the Magneza spell stood there, waiting to be dispersed. Yen Sid launched more -za spells, eventually using almost every one in existence and X continued to funnel them into his spell. The Magneza orb was increasing in speed, due to the heavy amount of spells it had been taking in. X, knowing it would explode any second, performed his first counter attack, launching it at Yen Sid. Yen Sid followed suit after X, jumping off of the stairs and downwards also. Halting midway, midair, he stuck out his palms once again, this time preparing for a spell unlike any other. "Ultima!" Yen Sid summoned a book from the light around him. The pages of the magical book began to flip quite fast as multiple -za looking spells emerged and began to merge themselves. Instead of stopping there, he repeated this action ten times, before turning it into something else. He moved his palms away from each other, turning the Ultima spell into a huge shield. The shield had an insignia that matched his hat, it was the ultimate defense. The -za infused Magneza orb made it's way to the shield, immediately dispersing and causing no harm once it made contact. X was very surprised to witness such a strange development. "So..." X said, "you've mastered the ultimate spell? Well, I've mastered something of my own too!" X pulled back both of his arms and opened his palms up, while Yen Sid responded. The old wizard clasped his hands, immediately causing the huge shield to break into four pieces. The four pieces molded, forming something else, four Keyblades. Keyblades that had the same appearance to the Star Seeker, but green, pink, red, and purple respectively. They were pseudo-Keyblades. As the pseudo-Keyblades appeared, X summoned his surprise as well. Two Kingdom Keys, also varying in color. They were black and white with their own respective designs. Black bladed one had a white hilt, while the other had the reverse. X looked at his friend hoping he would be surprised. To his dismay, Yen Sid did not bat an eye. The Star Seekers were immediately sent to X, hoping to finish the battle there. X, unsatisfied by his friend's look, crossed the Keyblades together, forming an X. "Yen, old bud. This is the end game." X looked at the white bladed Kingdom Key and said, "Key...Kye" he continued, immediately looking at the opposite. A sudden glow of light, an abundance of darkness and the strongest gust of winds enveloped the whole room and just as quickly as the they appeared, they vanished. Yen Sid's eyes immediately went to where X stood, motioning his attack to stop midway. "The X-Blade!" This one was a little hard to write, but it's finished! Hm, let's see, what will Chapter 4 be about? Edited July 24, 2013 by Kishira
Skai 3,961 Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) Really nice start, good job I would like to see more of it.Thank you! I hope you both continue to support me as I write this story~! New chapter soon! (I'm assuming that YMX is 16 through 19 and I really want him to be on the low side of it all, so let's say 16!) K. I'm calling this ridiculously lengthy chapter, chapter 4. It took me a while to write and it has a total of 9 themes, played 10 times total. I spent quite a bit on this and yeaa, hope you enjoy! Chapter 4: Time Not So Well Spent Part 1: First Theme: "Xehanort! Eraqus!" a young 14 year old boy said. The two, out distancing the boy in terms of years by quite a bit, turned. They were his superiors. "Let's train! I think I have this down!" he said, "Sorry, Kai, buddy! I have to go work on something," Eraqus declined the poor lad's request. "Sure!" Xehanort answered, as his equal trainee left to take care of other obligations. "Okay! Do the move that you said I couldn't dodge!" End Theme. Second Theme: Kai was very excited to show off his brand new skills that he had managed to perfect in a week's time. Xehanort did as his fellow pupil asked him and swung his Keyblade at the boy, immediately changing it's course a total of thirteen times within 5 seconds. Kai blocked the first and second advance with his very own Keyblade and dodged the next three consecutive ones with ease. He then un-summoned and re-summoned his Keyblade from his right to left hand, blocking the next. After which, he blasted air from his right palm, casting a good Aerora spell, deflecting the next five with his strong currents. The last two were simple to Kai, as he did this move many times, the only two hits he could block before. He threw his Keyblade as he caught the key chain with his foot in a somersault, ending the first part of the confrontation with a high speed spin. He quickly grabbed his weapon from his foot and flipped to deal what seemed to be the final blow against Xehanort. Xehanort was completely surprised by Kai and began to panic, utilizing some powers of darkness to block the boy barehanded and then switching the block with a Keyblade in less than a seconds time. The boy did not notice. Finishing it off, Xehanort did his thirteen hit combo in succession again and this time, all blows made impact. Kai fell to the floor exhausted and feeling accomplished. "Wow!" he exhaled. "I really thought I had you there, big bro!" End Theme. Third Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUnYj_PijpU Kai's relationship towards Xehanort and Eraqus was formally a disciple to disciples one, but he always felt a strong attachment to the two. He had bonded with them for only three weeks now, but he knew those bonds were unbreakable. In the exact same sense of falling in love with a significant other, he felt this way in a sibling relationship. He was 'head over heels' for their companionship. "Let's practice again some other time, bud." Xehanort rubbed the little guy's hair as he walked away. "You really surprised me there though! You've improved," he ended, turning back for a bit and smiling. After a while, Kai finally rose up and walked into the building. He was happy to be living in such a retreat, a very happy and peaceful place, only for people like him. But one day, he knew that he would be separated from his friends, having to protect the borders of the worlds as Keyblade Masters. End Theme. Fourth Theme: "Master, what's going on?" he asked, seeing Xehanort subdued, by the great and powerful master. "Nothing, Kai. Leave at once!" the master yelled, sending the boy off somewhere else. Kai was forcibly put into a stupor as a blue button, conveniently attached to his leg, activated his armor to appear. His Keyblade turned into his version of a Keyblade glider, wings, leading him back to his home world, Radiant Garden and away from his new one, Land of Departure. Being very unique, his strong heart was able to guide him through the Lanes Between and back to his home, the castle. Kai fell onto a platform, just above the entrance to the royal castle. The impact, cause a loud thud, immediately being heard by the guards. They ran towards the boy, using their powers capable enough to defend their very King, to quickly save the boy “It is the prince!” one of the guards yelled. Part 2: End Theme. Fifth Theme: “Ugh...” Kai said, rubbing his forehead. “Where am I?” Kai stood up from his bed, yawning very deeply. He stood up to look around his room, not much had changed, but he could not remember why he was back to his home world. He opened the door, to see a bunch of people running through the palace, in a very antsy sense. They were obviously in a rush for something. “Father must be angry again...” he said to himself. “I better go talk to him myself. Maybe he knows why I’m back home.” Kai walked around the castle interior, avoiding the countless helpers that flooded most of the building. Looking around, he could tell that only his room had stayed the same. From the ballroom to the hallways and all the way to the dining room, everything was different. The color themes as well as the furniture inside those specific places around his home had changed completely, it felt as if he had moved into a brand new place. Eventually, he reached the largest doors in the whole building, leading to his one and only parent’s main chambers. He entered cautiously, being strong enough to actually push the whole door. “Father!” he yelled, but no one answered. He kept moving through the large room, calling his father many times, to no avail. He eventually reached the small door all the way at the edge of the room where his father’s bedroom was, and entered. “Father!” he screamed, this time very worrisome. End Theme. Sixth Theme: He ran towards his father on the bed, sickly. He began to ask him many questions concerning his illness and all were answered, answered way too clearly and the blow was harsh. The conversation took a downturn, leading to the eventual acceptance that Kai would have to make. His father was dying and apparently, he had been for two months now. “What do you mean two months? I’ve only been gone for three weeks! You were fine before...” he passionately questioned his poor father. “I-It’s” his father answered, “been one and a half months since you’ve been a coma son...” His father passed out. Kai stood there, looking into the nothingness of space, realizing that what took place before he fell asleep was not yesterday or not even the week before, but a longs way from where he stood now. He had been in a deep sleep and the fact that he did not realize this, stood very deep inside him, a wound that could not heal. Kai ran out the bedroom, through the main chambers and into the hall, looking for the one thing that could reassure his now very troubled mind. The thought of being asleep for longer than he was a Keyblade student plagued his mind. “It couldn’t have been that long” he thought to himself, but it was. He scrambled for the library, looking for a calendar and there it was, before his very eyes... it was indeed a month and two weeks. Kai marched back to his father’s quarters and demanded for an explanation, but all he could manage to receive from his father was an urgentness to become a Keyblade Master. His father was dying and he was dying fast. There needed to be a new person, worthy enough to hold the throne of Radiant Garden, and it had to be him. Kai took these words to heart, running immediately out of the castle and flying back to Land of Departure. End Theme. Seventh Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvxBhGd5vuU Kai arrived at the outskirts of the world, but before he could enter, he felt a strong presence that forbade him from coming any closer. He tried fighting it, but it was too strong, once again sending him backwards with a strong blow, but this time he was wide awake. He landed in another mysterious world and a name to match. He laid in the cold grass, surrounded by bushes and a tower near his position, in fact, those were the only things there. “Who are you?” a young boy asked him, not too older than Xehanort and Eraqus. “I-I’m Kai,” he answered, looking at the weird boy wearing a hat with moon and star designs. It was a very unique fedora and his clothes were very casual, but had a nice formal look to them as well. His very look contradicted itself, but that was not what was going through Kai’s mind. He wondered who exactly he was talking to and why he was holding a Keyblade with the exact same pattern as his fedora. “I’m Yen! Nice to meet you!” Yen Sid said, putting out his hand. After a quick meet and greet, Kai began to question Yen Sid, who explained in full detail who he was and why he was there. Yen Sid had just passed his Mark of Mastery, only a month ago due to his master having to go away for a while for an important mission to keep the world in balance. He was given full custody of this world, the Mysterious Tower and he was tasked with the duty to guide those who reside in the Realm of Light. End Theme. Eighth Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUnYj_PijpU “Well Yen, mind if I practice my Keyblade skills with you? The Land of Departure won’t let me back in, but that may be due to my pals taking their Marks of Mastery!” Kai positively reassured his own self. “Uh, yea sure... my training was probably different from yours,” he hesitantly accepted. “That’s fine, I’m sure I can learn something from ya!” “Well, here’s nothing...” Yen Sid began, as they battled it out through the days, teaching Kai more valuable knowledge about fighting and especially magic, something he was in the present day, very good at. End Theme. Ninth Theme: “The X-Blade!” Yen Sid exclaimed. “You’ve managed to recreate it!” “Well, Yen. It isn’t the true X-Blade. It lacks 18 pieces. Just like the Keyblades today are only fakes, copies of the real version, so is this. The only difference is that it’s improved to be much better than the first fakes.. Sort of like a Keyblade Version 2.” “Kai, you were always the exhibitionist. Always making new things, always trying to make everything better than they were. That is one thing I admired about you...but you are no better than Xehanort now!” Yen Sid quickly changed his tone. “You have lost your way and in turn, lost the balance within your heart! You are now just like Xehanort, as well as a part of his plans!” Yen Sid began to sound more bold and fearsome. “I will not allow his plans to come to fruition!” Their epic battle ensued. Yen Sid disappeared in another flash of light as his four Star Seekers headed for his old friend. X deflected all of them quite quickly, managing to stay in the air. “Yen Sid, you haven’t changed either old buddy. You were never so light hearted with me, always as tough as Master was,” X thought, starting to remember more of his past. He continued, “But now I know, I am Kai. The third disciple of the master and at this moment I am fighting for what’s right!” (From here on out X=Kai, and so I will right his name either X or Kai, sometimes I may forget or I may choose to write it that way for meaning, but regardless, they are the same person.) End Theme. Tenth Theme: “You should give up Kai,” a familiar voice said within Kai’s heart. “Your heart belongs to me now.” “Xehanort...I never would have thought it would be you of all people to do me in.” X touched his chest as he floated in the darkness alongside with a younger version of Xehanort, but older than YMX. “It took you awhile to realize,” Xehanort responded. “I’m not going to fight you for my heart.” “Well, that’s nice to hear. Then taking over it will be easy!” “I’m going to merge with you and somehow show you the very light you seek to runaway from. I will be the light that sets you free, big bro.” “Tch,” Xehanort snickered, a little uneasy. Yen Sid quickly snuck up behind Kai, who was too busy focusing inside himself to notice. With a quick slash from all four sides, it was sure that Kai would lose at this very moment. “It’s over, old friend.” Hope you liked it! This fanfiction is postponed for now. Will get back to it when I can. Edited July 24, 2013 by Kishira
