Ever been to an abandoned building?

Recommended Posts

I have been to two before.  One is actually an unused barn on my grandparent's property.  Ever since I was a kid I would play around there.  On the outside it's pretty because is has that old classic barn look.  On the inside, however, is tons of old rusted tools hanging around and scattered in a large heap.  Pretty dangerous for young kids to hang around, but we did it anyway xD  There is also a window on the top that you can climb to to get on the roof.

The other I went to twice when I was around 16.  It was an old house in the country that was a bit of a drive away.  It was really out of shape.  There was a room where the roof had fallen but was still attached to the upper floor so you could climb up it to get to that floor.  There was also a really awesome metal spiral staircase.  It had that apocalyptic look with the wallpaper pealing and really messy.  There was one room with trash everywhere that was probably where druggies hung out.  I remember hearing police drove by the place often and there was a "no trespassing" sign up front.  I wish I could go back and take pictures but it has been torn down.

So, have you ever visited any abandoned buildings or places?

The old abandoned old abandoned amusement park

YES. I explored a big abandoned mall, some of it was underground too. Eerie, but pretty awesome. There was a carousel for the kids in the middle of the mall too, which would be extremely creepy if it still ran. But yes, I have, and it was pretty cool.

I want to, it just better not have any PARANORMAL ACTIVITY!

Though one time, I saw this old small house that had like HUNDREDS of CROWS flying around the house.... Made me think of that horror movie The Messengers ...

A mall, that sounds awesome ^^  I think anything abandoned that has to do with kids adds an extra layer of creepy.

I have been to numerous abandoned buildings.... Well, mostly houses that are foreclosed and already have an opening. I normally feel adventurous during my dirt biking days. I would go around the area I live looking for tracks or trails, and find some abandoned places or houses that nobody lived in. Sometimes I bring my friend along and we try to scare each other until someone catches us or we get bored. Of course, we make great escapes with the dirt bikes.

Ahh... I miss those days.

It was, actually. And it looked surprisingly neat and had a nice design to it. I would go down underground, into the stores, and even the carousel. I ended up playing a music box too, just to creep out my to-be mother-in-law.

I played in the yard of an unowned house and climbed a tree in it before.

But, said house now has people in it lol.

It's also our neighbers house...

Edit; i'd make friends with these neighbers but they don't speak english very well and i'm kinda shy to talk to people that are not on the web, anyways...  :P

Well, unless its someone I met on a dog walk. lol But, I still like never ask for numbers and stuff.

Yeah I have. I went there with my friend, I think it used to be some sort of school building. We found lots of cool stuff: really old glass bottles (which, who knows, may have some value), electronics (useless), books and such. We saw three crow skeletons too. ;o

The old abandoned old abandoned amusement park

Did you get to meet the hippie?I remember when I was little, there was construction on a bridge (renovations?) and part of the subway tracks was closed off, and so was some staircases, stations, etc. We had to go through some old staircase to get to the other side of the station. I saw an abandon station. I saw broken up concrete and bricks on tracks, everything looked old. Thinking about it now, I wonder if it was Bowery station since that station has another set of tracks, rarely used for parking trains.
