Gogo 11 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) Let's start by drawing parallels between the Kingdom Key and the X-Blade, since there has to be some reason why the design of the X-Blade draws inspiration from the Kingdom Key. According to MX, the X-Blade is forged when seven Guardians of Light clash with thirteen Seekers of Darkness. Clearly the GoL will be at a disadvantage, since they're very likely to be overwhelmed by the darkness.Key word: Overwhelmed. Now, everyone remembers the iconic scene where Sora gets the Kingdom Key for the first time. Overwhelmed by Riku's darkness, all hope seemed lost until Sora was rescued by the Kingdom Key at the last second. In what would have been his final moments, Sora was desperately looking for something to hold onto, and it came to him when he needed it the most. So, this is how I imagine the final battle will play out: [*]The 7 GoL and 13 SoD clash. No KH. [*]The 7 GoL are getting completely demolished (followed by 13 Xehanorts rubbing it in your face). No KH. [*]The 7 GoL show clear signs of fatigue and desperation. No KH. [*]Realizing they're fighting a losing battle, Sora calls out for KH in desperation, knowing that they can't win this battle alone. Lo and behold, KH appears from the heavens. [*]Every GoL gets an X-Blade and goes trigger-happy (partially joking with this one, despite how awesome it'd be to see this. Key point is that KH turns the tides somehow). Honestly, I don't think I can imagine a more fitting ending than this. Having both the Valor to go against all odds and the Wisdom to accept that you can't save the universe by yourself is a theme that will clearly be present throughout the course of KH3, not to mention perfectly defining what a true Guardian of Light would be.And, of course, the pure, delicious irony of it all. MX would have doomed himself the day he began his conquest for KH; Destiny has defeated him. Orchestrafanboy19 101 Posted June 21, 2013 Y'now? That makes a hell of a lot of sense. However, why ALL the Guardians? Why not just one? Sora's the main character, so why wouldn't he receive it? 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) Well it's like Braig/Xigbar once lamented :it's like KH rejects Xehanort . So I'd imagine he will be the end of himself someway yet again bc he's his own worst enemy. I would like to see Xehanort actually forge the X-blade and then there be an epic battle between him and Sora to wrestle control of it and KH . That would be all kinds of drama. Then KH itself smites Xehanort for being a very bad boy. But yeah I like your theory as well. Kurama 171 Posted June 21, 2013 This is a really good ending! It would be cool if it happened! 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
MyDixieRect 2,061 Posted June 21, 2013 The first two points are good. I'm not a fan of the others tbh. Everyone getting a X-blade seem like a giant ass pull and having Kingdom Hearts take sides seems a bit out of place, since if it could do that this whole time it wouldn't let Xehanort get this far. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
Nathan Hatton 274 Posted June 21, 2013 I think similar to the way Riku took the keyblade from Sora at Hollow Bastion in KH1, Xehanort will forge the X-Blade with the 13 Darknesses and 7 Lights clash. Then when all hope is lost, the X-Blade will move to Sora and he will lead the charge, turning the tides and allowing the Lights to win. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
EternalReckoning 1,135 Posted June 21, 2013 they defeat xehanort, stuff him in the oven and make a roast out of him, then enjoy a campfire meal Yum!
Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) I honestly think (well, hope TBH) that the true x-Blade will look very different from the one in BbS. I think something like the one that appears during the Mirage Break/Nightmare's End Reality Shifts in DDD, but still retaining the "X" motif would be more impressive. Even if it's not that I want something more impressive and very different than anything we've seen so far. You can call it a "rushed attempt" or a "mistake" but that doesn't change what the BbS x-Blade was. An imitation. A fake The first two points are good. I'm not a fan of the others tbh. Everyone getting a X-blade seem like a giant ass pull and having Kingdom Hearts take sides seems a bit out of place, since if it could do that this whole time it wouldn't let Xehanort get this far. Kingdom Hearts has taken Sora's side before though. When Ansem called out to it, the DtD began to open but then blasted him with Light when Sora spoke. When Xemnas was lamenting the damage inflicted to it by the Kingdom Heats Encoder, it allowed him entry but then did the same for Sora, essentially trapping Xemnas with his enemy. Following this trend it would make perfect sense for Kingdom Hearts to lend the GoL the power to defeat their foe. And he was joking about everyone getting a x-Blade Edited June 21, 2013 by Isamu_Kuno
Gogo 11 Posted June 21, 2013 Ugh I can't multiquote on a phone :x The idea of everyone getting an X-Blade was, like I said, partially a joke. The main point is that KH would be needed to turn the tides. That would explain why it's not 7 vs. 7; the scenario is set up so that the 7 GoL NEED KH to save the universe, and it's that desire for divine intervention that would give KH a reason to appear. Sora couldn't overcome Riku's darkness by himself. Aqua couldn't defeat Venitas by herself. Ven couldn't survive with a fractured heart by himself. The entire idea of KH being in the RoD, that within the deepest darkness is a light, reflects the idea that KH will save them when they need it the most. The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 21, 2013 You know, your theory is a very interesting one, and it makes me think of what possibilities there could be for the ending of Kingdom Hearts 3. You make valid points, and everyone having X-blades was a funny joke on your part, lol, but all in all, I do think that the Guardians of Light will have to give it their all and more, which will result in Kingdom Hearts yielding its helping hand to the truly strongest of heart. (a.k.a: Sora)
EternalChange 303 Posted June 25, 2013 Hm. A very nice theory in itself. One thing I'm thinking though: Why would KH hide in such a time of need? Perhaps to save itself from damage, if nothing else. We've all hidden from fighting friends to keep ourselves clean sometimes. Another thing: I don't think that Sora would need to 'Call Out' to KH; it would already be there whenever it saw that the seven GoL were exasperated...after all, it hates darkness and Xehanort's intentions, and him being on the winning side would give it a reason enough to let out power to the Seven Guardians. VeNate13 144 Posted July 21, 2013 I think there will be other keyblade wielders besides just the GoL fighting the SoD.
