Not saying it wouldn't be fun, just that I really don't mind who's playable and who isn't. There's already been two (technically 3?) games that you can play as Riku in, and honestly I don't even like Kairi. Or... maybe not. idk Maybe Kairi could be the tutorial character like Roxas was in KH2. Then you regain control of Sora a couple hours in and play as him for the majority of the rest of the game. OR OR OR have it be like FF7, where the main character (in this case, Sora) is controllable for the majority of the game, but have a brief segment around the middle (two or three hours, maybe a little more) where he is un-playable and you gain control of another character (maybe Riku, Lea, or Mickey) and have to get to a certain point before you can play as Sora again.
