References in Pokemon games

Well,most of Nintendo games I've played had references or easter eggs about another Nintendo franchise(a.k.a the Mario 64 picture in Ocarina of Time)

 

What weirds me out is that,aside from the occasional NES,SNES,Wii in the protagonists house,there is barely any reference to any other Nintendo franchises in Pokemon,which may I ask,why???

 

a little reference or easter egg here or there would be fun to see or discover.

 

I mean,they can make the grass type gym look like Peach's Garden from the inside,or make the dragon type gym looks like Bowser's castle from the inside or put a Kokiri forest reference in one of the forests in the region.

 

 

I hope X&Y adds more references,yeah it doesn't add much but it's cool to look at and discover

If I'm correct, I think one of the TV commercials was advertising the Wii. (Or was that another game...)

 

Yeah they don't make enough Easter eggs. XY will just have a Wii U and maybe 3DS reference. (3DSception)

While I would appreciate that,I meant an actual reference to a Nintendo franchise not only console references.

 

We'll obviously have a Wii U in the protagonists room,but I want something to reference franchises like Mario,Zelda,Pikmin,F-Zero....etc

 

Heck.Elisa's Gym in BW 1 could've had F-Zero cars rather than just a normal rollercoaster pods

What I'd love to see are trainers hidden throughout the game that look like various nintendo characters. After all, who wouldn't want to have a pokemon battle with Link, Peach, and Captain Falcon?

a battle with Captain Falcon???? We would lose instantly because he taught all of his Pokemon the mighty FALCON PUNCH.
