Weiss 8,279 Posted June 15, 2013 I see so many fangasms and excitement for KHIII here but have you guys ever thought that KHIII won't be the godly game you're expecting it to be? There are several easy reasons why it could be bad so allow me to begin As Nomura said it was announced too early. We've seen video game companies release games that had great potential early just to try to please the fans but ultimately fail. coughSonic06cough It is very possible that Square could end up releasing the game early, thus ruining it's potential. Secondly, the story. Over 50% of those people who are excited for KHIII have not played any of the portable games. They won't understand the story at all which will lead to many persons' experience with KHIII to not be at it's full potential "Just recap the the plot via cutscenes at the beginning" Yes. I agree. Let's have a 1 and a half hour to 2 and a half hours of opening movie to the game. These of course, are the most obvious reasons. Let's get into some more detailed ones. First off, fans have speculated a pixar world since the dawn of time. And now that the response to pixar worlds was "No comment" people expect that as a yes. I don't even need to explain this one. Secondly, it's obvious, so so obvious, that not every fan will like KHIII even if none of the above reasons come to pass. Some fans will be mad if Gummi ships come back, some not. Some will be mad if the game doesn't come to Wii U later on, some will rejoice, some will be mad that Donald and Goofy are back, some will be happy. Little things will bunch together to leave some fans with an overall dislike for the game. Finally, there's the game itself. As we all know, Nomura has a Yoai Fetish. It's likely that the game will contain Yoai fanservice. For this reason most of those who hate Yoai will probably hate the game. To start off, the Osaka team is making this one. Those who wanted something like KHII could be very out of luck with this one. And lastly, the gameplay. We don't even know what the gameplay even will look like. "But. But. The trailer. It showed gameplay!!!"The trailer did not. What was seen in the trailer was just animation and not gameplay as said by, you guessed it, Nomura himself. For all we know the gameplay will look terrible. So yes, the game can be bad and most definitely will not be near as good as you are thinking it will be. In fact, it will probably be the worst thing to ever exist in the Kingdom Hearts Universe. Just like Xion. 6 Weedanort, Caity, Oishii and 3 others reacted to this

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) Well Weiss, while I respect your opinion, I don't think that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be horrifyingly bad. Nomura himself knows that we, the fans have been waiting for this game for a long time now, and I doubt that he's going to disappoint us with Kingdom Hearts 3. This insight is pretty interesting though, and you offer a side of Kingdom Hearts fans that thinks: "Hey, maybe this game won't live up to the hype." But I am one of the hopefuls who thinks that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be excellent. We have to be appreciative that we at least got this teaser trailer. And besides, my concrete guess for Kingdom Hearts 3's release date, in my opinion, would be in early 2015. Why you ask? Because 1.5 is scheduled for this year, and with the announcement of Kingdom Hearts 3, there will no doubt be a 2.5 next year to distract us while he puts the finishing touches to Kingdom Hearts 3, and on March 2015(My prediction anyway.)Kingdom Hearts 3 might be released in Japan, and in the States at around June 2015. While I respect your opinion Weiss, I disagree that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be bad. I know that most of you will just say that I'm defending KH like a crazy fanboy, but I'm placing my faith in Nomura. We have to give the guy credit for making 7 Kingdom Hearts games so far right? There's no reason to doubt him now. Wolf on the Run 391 Posted June 15, 2013 i kind of got to agree with a few of weiss remarks here she has a allot of good points against KH3 but even so i dont think it could possible be that bad yes it was announced far to early for its development and yes its not the normal kh team working on the game but the osaka team but lets be honest do you really think Nomura would go off and leave the Osaka team to do everything im shore Nomura will keep checking up on there progress and anything they do that he doesnt like im shore he will let them know about it besides its not like this is the first time Osaka has worked with a KH game shore it may be the first numbered game but its still not there first ever game so give them some credit

KHLegendIII 709 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) I thinK KH3 will be perfect, considering the fact that PS4 games are much easier to make. Besides, KH3 probably won;t be out until 2015 or 2016, also besides, if they were to release it in 2014, there would be a lot of work done so quickly and polishing it. Mila 37 Posted June 15, 2013 @Weiss the game was just announced and what we have seen won't be in the final game...I'm sure (=> first Teaser) so you can't judge over something you don't know the only problem is (what Nomura himself said) that the game was announced too early so it CAN (!) be something happen like with ex-versus but the Osaka Team can concentrate on the game and I'm sure....it will be finished when we all were able to play 1.5 AND 2.5 (problem "not all played the handheld games" solved) I know that some are somehow sceptical because the Osaka Team is developing the game, but the "KH-Team" can't because of versus/XV and if the KH-Team should develope it...we would have to wait some more years and this will cause more displeasure

That was announced too early way back in 2003 or so, and KH3's battle system is an evolved version of KH2's. Edited June 15, 2013 by Tom13
baptiscool19 68 Posted June 15, 2013 I'm not too happy that the Osaka team is making this game either. Their games lack polishing. The combat techniques they implement in games are not fluid. The physics of the games they made is horrible. I hope they work on these flaws. Otherwise I don't think i'm gonna enjoy KH3 as much as if the Tokyo team made it. VanitasTheBest 196 Posted June 15, 2013 I'm concerned about the Reason with the Osaka Team too. Nomura wanted his own Team to make KH3, but now it's the 2nd Team that made BbS and KH3D ... and to be honest, If I recap those both games, they felt from time to time pretty empty imo.The good thing about BbS and KH3D : The Gameplay. I'm pretty sure that the Osaka Team will make a great Job with the Gameplay. But everything else... BbS and KH3D just didn't have the feeling of KH1 and KH2 and that's what KH3 should have. An emotional fusion of KH1 and KH2 with a spark from the Side Games
KHLegendIII 709 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) I really don't care about which team makes it, what really counts is it being in development, if it were Nomura's team, I would not really care AT ALL.. I also don't care about the empty feeling, all I care about is how it'll perform. Edited June 15, 2013 by Tom13
Hyperion 144 Posted June 15, 2013 Dude, you can't be judging this game yet, wait till you actually play it, then judge it. Sure, KH3 could fail, or it could be the best game ever, we don't have enough info yet.
Caity 3,946 Posted June 15, 2013 I like the team that made it, I think BBS and DDD were good considering the limitations of the system they were on, and I want something new from KH3 so it doesn't just look like a Remixed KH2. But you basically have said everything I've been thinking since the teaser was released. I look forward to other peoples disappointment though. Their sadness amuses me. Dracozombie 4,554 Posted June 15, 2013 So, people getting super hyped about something they've been looking forward to, only for it to not live up to the pedestal it's being put on because everyone's going to love and complain about different things based on what they personally want to see? I'm sure that's never happened before in the history of ever, because everything has lived up to its hype. You're pretty much saying KH3 will suck solely on the grounds of an audience that has their own individual wants and expectations instead of its own merits as a game. By that logic, you might as well say everything sucks because people everywhere for everything will complain about it somehow. 9 MyDixieRect, Epic KH Fan_13, Dave and 6 others reacted to this

I see the points you're making here, Weiss, but most of these are either: A ) subjective based on the player's personal point of view B ) just as speculative as those thinking KHIII is going to be the best thing since sea-salt ice cream. For organization's sake I'm just going to comment on your points in a list, so here it goes. -Saying it's "very possible" that Square could put this game out early goes against their track record. I think that Nomura saying it was announced "too early" is actually indicative that they're taking their time with making the darn thing. Remember the "trailer" said that the game was only in development (it better be...) and didn't even give a release window. -Isn't this why Nomura's been so intent on getting the remixes done, so that the story is in one place and can be made sense of? Regardless, if you've only played the portable games, you need to expect to be lost a bit. It's just going to happen. Fortunately PS2's are dirt cheap now, so get you one and play KH1 and KH2. A more important point to make should be this; KHIII might cater too much to these, for a lack of better term "ignorant", fans, and not devote enough attention to fulfilling the saga. -Agreed, this will never work, hence the remixes. -The Pixar worlds...look, I don't really want them, but it's hardly a deal-breaker. I think it would be smarter for Nomura just to save them for the next saga. -Fans love to nitpick. In fact, that's what I'm doing right now. But that doesn't necessarily mean the game will be bad. -The Osaka team did BBS, which I loved. In many ways it's the game I'm looking forward to seeing in a potential 2.5 remix, more so than KHII. I'm willing to give them a chance, but that's just my opinion. -I agree. The trailer showed us nothing; it was little more than confirmation that the game exists, or will exist, and that they're working on it. I'd be astonished anything we saw in the trailer actually represented the final product; they reused animations and areas with a simple graphical upgrade, nothing more. That said, Nomura/Square/Osaka team would have to drop the ball pretty far to make the gameplay "terrible". I respect your opinions, though many of them seem to be searching for a reason to be pessimistic. I highly doubt it will be "the worst thing in the KH universe" this game, what with KHII Atlantica and the V Cast KH game setting the bar fairly low.
