Arthur Twining Hadley 60 Posted June 14, 2013 Wouldnt it had made more sense to start the 1.5 ReMix's from Birth by Sleep instead of KH?I was honestly expecting something like this.KH 1.5: Kingdom Hearts Birth By SleepKingdom HeartsKingdom Hearts Chain of Memories (CutScenes Only) KH 2.5:358/2 DaysKH2Coded (Cutscenes Only)I think that makes more sense instead of starting from KH and then "Jumping back" to BBS like they're going to make it.Oh well... Nathan Hatton 274 Posted June 14, 2013 It was because of time. Chain of Memories already existed as a fully 3d rendered game in KH RE: Chain of Memories. To remake 358/2 Days it would have taken a year alone, not including the other two titles in 1.5 remix. A similar situation would apply to Re: Coded, while BBS and KH2 already are fully 3D rendered. For Time purposes and sticking to nomura's KH game a year plan, it evens the games content wise with 2 full 3D rendered games and a game in cutscenes, and also allows them to use a similar time frame to get the games out quicker. Yes I would have loved 358/2 Days playable in HD, but honestly it wasnt my favorite game with the way of leveling up and stuff. I much prefer KH2 and BBS and would rather get them sooner. 1 Arthur Twining Hadley reacted to this
JTD95 1,107 Posted June 14, 2013 Because the story starts from KH. If BbS is someones first game and they don't know anything about the rest of the series, they're going to be very confused. 5 Imoore4, Arthur Twining Hadley, mosokisa and 2 others reacted to this
Samuel Hernandez 24 Posted June 14, 2013 Because the story starts from KH. If BbS is someones first game and they don't know anything about the rest of the series, they're going to be very confused. Exactly! See BBS has too many connections to the KH Universe to be played first. It's better to play the games in order of release that way the story grips you much better and the mysteries, shocks, and surprises happen when they should 2 JTD95 and Arthur Twining Hadley reacted to this

Arthur Twining Hadley 60 Posted June 14, 2013 Solid arguments here, I guess they made the right call, I was thinking from my own point of view where I have already played every single game, but for the Square Enix Team and the new comers to the series this is the way to go. Britipinojeff 95 Posted June 14, 2013 well honestly when i play kh2.5 remix i will probably play kh2 first cuz it continues off of 358/2 days and kh2fm and 358/2 days both give hints to BBS. This would make BBS the game to play after seeing all these hints in order to reveal the backstory behind the main story. this is actually also why coded was released before 358/2 days in japan but we got Re:Coded last so we couldnt see those small hints towards the next games

Noby Raghavan 168 Posted June 14, 2013 It's like Narnia or any other series that jumps between the timeline- you have to play it in order of release, not timeline order to fully appreciate it.
Caity 3,946 Posted June 14, 2013 I thought that. Because fans who haven't looked up the timeline or anything still don't know what orders the games are in, and wouldn't realize BBS was a prequel. But I think simply put it was the least timely. Both KH1 and Re:COM were PS2 games that just needed revamped. BBS would need converted for from the PSP system to the PS3 system. If time was no option I would have said have BBS, BBSV2 (obviously not developed yet but this is a hypothetical situation) and then some cutscenes leading up to KH1 in 0.5. Then KH1, Com and Days in 1.5, and then KH2, Coded and DDD in 2.5. But obviously this is the way they decided to go with. I reckon they just started with KH1 'cause it'll be popular among fans as it's the game that started it all if you played in order of release. Then BBS was included in 2.5 because DDD was too recent to remake for the PS3 (and would be timely since it's a 3DS game to a PS system) and Coded would have been too timely to remake as well switching over systems. SoraKH 793 Posted June 14, 2013 Because the regular storyline starts from KH1 even if the BBS storyline is before KH1
Rob 5,571 Posted June 15, 2013 BBS is meant to play after KH2 due to its connections and its secret ending being after KH2.
Samuel Hernandez 24 Posted June 15, 2013 Well Kingdom Hearts 2 came before 358 2 Days ok odd exception lol
Connected 978 Posted June 15, 2013 You can understand Kh 1, com, days without Birth by sleep, After kh2 it start the confusing
KH4Real 749 Posted June 15, 2013 It depends what 1.5 means if it means games between 1 and 2 then bbs will be in 2.5. As it describes as a timeline it may be suppose to mean stories. Then BBS would go with KH HD 0.5.
