Sooo, the lack of cutscenes will result in you not buying the game????

The excuse might be lame, but that doesn't really reduce any hype since I like Smash Bros not because I like the developer, but because I like the game.

I bought for example:Mario games not because of Miyamoto but because I like Mario.

I know it's kinda dissapointing, but it's not as big as you're making it to be.

I know it added something, but it's not a deal breaker.

Besides,I heard that he will add a Prolougeending cutscenes that can be viewed in the theater instead of the subspace. And he never said he would remove that he said it would replace the actual cutscenes

You have got to read better. I said disappointments, as in more than just the lack of cutscenes. Second where did Is say I wouldn't buy it? You sure like making assumptions.

I thought that the cutscenes were big deal breaker for you.

Also,so far the cutscenes are the only dissapointment for the next smash,so what;s more than lack of cutscenes???

not that much revealed for the game aside from trailer and screenshots.

They didn't reveal modes and other things so I don't know what are the other "dissapointments" in the next Smash when we still don't know jackshit about the game.

Nope, just any more silly characters. I think Wii fit trainer and Villager is enough, but inb4morenewsillyones

The villager was there to represent Animal Crossing, the Wii Fit Trainer is meant for fun like any joke character:a.k.a Phoenix Wright in UMvC3

Just because you don't like them doesn't meant everyone should hate those two.

In fact, they're better than Characters like R.O.B and Mr Game and Watch.

Besides,those aren't colossal,hype breaking dissapointment.

You're the one who's freakin out. :P

I'm just sayin. The dude is being a jerk about it. I don't really think cutscenes are needed. But he went about it in the wrong way.

Well, I wouldn't say that Sakurai's being a "jerk" about it. Sakurai's just saying that adding cutscenes would not add much to the game since people will post them before the game is even out, plus the fact that cutscenes were never important in Smash bros. I mean Smash bros 64 and Melee didn't have cutscenes and they were still excellent games. I don't think Sakurai is a jerk all because he is not putting cutscenes in the new Smash bros especailly since there weren't any cutscenes in the Melee and 64.

I agree, but in the end it's a bad excuse as to why they won't make them. HD CGI cutscenes of Nintendo characters interacting, the thing that could've been.

But if it meant they would focus more on balancing the characters and polishing the game....then it's a little loss imo.

Granted the cutscenes in the Subspace were good, but removing them isn't a huge bad decision

Seriously guys let's put that stupid disscusion to rest.

You guys have been overglorifying everything Nintendo does ever since the new form of Mewtwo.

Next day people will complain why Miyamoto gave Link a Peter Pan-like cloth

or why Eiji Aonuma took a shower,

or why Sakurai took a shit in Iwata's bathroom and how that would affect the future of gaming.

You guys complain about stuff that wasn't important at all in any fighting game in existence.

You can't tell me that Tekken's story was so deep and great while in reality it's non-sensical and non-existent and everyone either play multiplayer or online

You can't tell me you play Street Fighter for the story of how Ryu shoved a Hadoken up Akuma's ass

You can't tell me the story of the Mortal Kombat reboot was so great even though it doesn't make any sense in terms of MK's continuity

Story in fighting games is just a little 1% that serves the soul purpose of you playing the single player to unlock characters.

You never count a story for a fighting game when you review a fighting game.

You count Gameplay, mechanics, balancing, varity of modes and fun.....and that's it.

Cutscenes means jackshit in a fighting game because when you see them once, you'll never go back to them ever again.

I never gone back to the story mode of neither Mortal Kombat nor Tekken or Street Fighter, and Smash Bros is the same.

Most of the time of any fighting game is spent on Multiplayer or additional modes.

Be thankful that Smash Bros doesn't have a bajilion versions like Street Fighter 4 or DLC endings

You're taking this a bit too seriously dude. I don't think anyone over glorified anything, it was just a simple complaint.

Smash isn't a fighter though.

I don't give a f.uck whether people think it's a fighter or not.

The game has competitive tournaments going for it,it doesn't need juggles and combos to be considered a fighting game.Otherwise DBZ Tenkaichi would've been considered a third person beat'em up.

A fighting game has people fighting each other in a competitive manner to win.It doesn't need to be a Tekken or a Street Fighter to be a fighting game

When did this discussion thread become an argument thread? Geez... I hope we get a new character soon so everyone will shut up with the arguments and discuss the news.

Sorry about that, I had no idea posting that news would eventually spiral like that

It's fine posting news, that's one of the purposes of this thread, and it's nice to get updates on a game that's barely giving us information, at least compared to what Brawl did. It's the reactions that resulted in all the arguing.

I'd like to redirect that you. Not everyone finds them "wowing." Again saying what I didn't; never did I say everyone should dislike them.
