Look at all that effort put into making a cool stage that people will never use because everyone only wants to play on drab, boring, and lifeless flat stages.

Ah, well. At least the people who are actually good at the game will have a chance to use the full version.

Same can said to those who don't use "lifeless" stages, or with the "good" players on "boring" stages, but no I won't be that guy who thinks if he/she doesn't play by what I go by is dull and sucks at playing. Sounds silly. Edited by OmegaForte

This is probably one of my favorite stage ideas so far. I bet that this stage isn't all that we'll be getting, either... It'd be weird for them to simply release one stage when they've been releasing a ton of content at once so far. Hoping for a surprise character announcement to go along with the stage.

I've a feeling we'll be seeing an announcement around the end of the month when the stage is on the way.

*pleads for new character*

I doubt Sakurai-san and the Smash team have been sitting idle since the release of Roy, Ryu, and Lucas. That was June. And I'm sure stages aren't months-long projects. I definitely think a character is coming (Like how they did Ryu and Roy with Lucas). I just hope it's one I might use.

Someone from Nintendo recently said that they're going to continue making Directs, so maybe we'll get one in a few weeks announcing a new character. I wouldn't be surprised if they do what they did with Ryu/Roy and reveal a character on the 30th, then suddenly release the character that day as well.

Yeah, same here. There's no way they're just waiting for the ballot to end, they've definitely been working on something aside from stages and Mii Costumes since June. I'm personally thinking Wolf will be the next character to be revealed, but I'd love to see a surprise newcomer announcement later this month.

I'm a little( a month) late on this one, but I'm getting a community tournament set up right now for anyone who wants to join. Looking back at some suggestions everyone made before, I've settled on the following rules. I can change it if the majority wants me to, though:

Tournament ranking is based off of score (KOs) instead of wins, just to keep things more simple.

The tourney will last until October 2nd at midnight. I figured two weeks was a good time span for this, since this will probably be something we all just do for fun as opposed to competitive (I could open a more competitive tourney to the side along with this if you all want me to. I know that competitive play is pretty big here)

No limit on the amount of matches each participant can enter in.

3 stock, 8 minute matches.

Stages will be randomly selected, with the options being Battlefield, Final Destination, Smashville, Town & City, Dreamland 64, and all Omega Stages (Tried to keep it to what was suggested by others)

No items, but Mii Fighters and Custom Fighters are okay.

Tourney name is Smash13, with the password being Keyblade. Hope to see some of you join in! We can all arrange specific times to join in and fight, since I doubt we'll all be on it for most of the time it's running.

So the new update went up along with the Super Mario Maker stage. We don't have any new characters, but we did get some new Mii costumes, and a couple other stages (One of which, Duck Hunt on the 3DS version, is completely free!). Here's a list of what all was added:

Wii U Ver. 1.1.1 [Released 09/29/15]

  • Users will be able to purchase newly added downloadable content.
  • Updated features when posting to YouTube and Miiverse.
  • Adjustments have also been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.

3DS Ver. 1.1.1 details (Released on September 29, 2015)

  • Users will be able to purchase newly added downloadable content.
  • Added the Duck Hunt Stage.
  • Adjustments have also been made for a more pleasant gaming experience.

Mii Fighter costumes (Wii / 3DS):

  • Business Suit
  • Star Fox - Fox (Gunner)
  • F-Zero - Captain Falcon (Brawler)
  • Super Mario - Toad (Brawler)
  • Kid Icarus: Uprising - Viridi (Swordfighter)
  • Hunter Set – Monster Hunter (Swordfighter)

Stages:

I'm personally happy to see that Pirate Ship is back from Brawl, since it was one of my favorite stages. I'll probably pick up the Mii Fighter costumes for Monster Hunter and Captain Falcon along with the two new paid stages. Won't be able to do that for a little bit, though, thanks to the upcoming Toys R Us amiibo restock...

Patch Notes for this update are included here, if you want to check your individual character and see if they changed at all.

Shield Stun has been increased a couple more frames. This is probably the most important change in this patch.

Let me explain what this means to those who don't know. Shield stun is a mechanic where if an opponent is shielding and you attack their shield, the opponent cannot act until a certain amount of time later.

For instance, if you were to attack a person shielding with Marth's Down Air, the person shielding would not be able to do anything for a few frames. However, since Marth's Down Air has an extreme amount of endlag when landing, the opponent would be able to attack them before Marth could act again.

Now, with the increase of shield stun, the person shielding will have a tighter time frame to be able to do something against Marth. This could fix one of the complaints about the nature of this game, which is its defensive options. With shielding not being as viable, it may force players to play more aggressively.

This sounds nice and I would love to join. But, as as Omegaforte said, timing is going to be pretty difficult since everyone on this site lives on different time zones.

The new update is exciting, shield stun increased, making shield a worse option, so much potential.

And I think after this game being out for almost an entire year, I finally have a main, Kirby. I am gonna get good.

Oh and the smash ballot deadline is in 2 days. Pretty excited for this game's future in general.

And The Big House 5 is this weekend, everybody who is into Smash should watch that. Guaranteed to be insane.

Hope they bring Town and City, Smashville, or other tournament-legal stages to 3DS for free as well. I'm tired of picking Dream Land and Battlefield when I don't wanna play on Omega form.

ZeRo won Sm4sh at TBH5, after being knocked into losers bracket by Seagull Joe, and taking it over Nairo at Grand Finals. ZeRo was probably on edge after losing to Seagull Joe, so props to him for keeping it together and taking the tourney.

Armada won Melee at TBH5, after taking it over Hungrybox. The Sweds are winning the tourneys. Armada is playing amazingly well right now.
