Reyn 1,755 Posted November 29, 2014 Well, just tried classic last night on 9.0. I got to Master Fortress easy, but...The enemies are OP as heck, seriously. I got to the second weak spot, i got hit twice by lasers and i died in like 5 seconds, literally. It was ridiculous. Of course, i wasn't using Shield Shulk, but still. O_o I'm gonna be more careful next time around.

Reyn 1,755 Posted November 29, 2014 I suck so much when I get to the boss fight in Classic Mode. No matter how good I am, I can't clear 9.0 at all because of Master Blades...that one form is so full of shit...I can breeze through every stage and then the Master Core fight just wrecks me. You know, that's the weird thing. I have a harder time with the early stages (although its not as bad now as in the 3DS version, since more people in the fights means more people taking each other out and using items on others instead of me) than i do with Master Core's boss fight. It might just be i've learned the pattern now, which is why im so good, but i don't struggle on any of the forms anymore, except Lizard a bit, since i might not be able to react to his attack when he goes in and out from the background because i was pulling off a laggy attack to do alot of damage. Even Master Blades is easy really, when he holds the largest sword up for a couple seconds, the best thing to do is just run to the other side of the stage while he's preparing it, and just shield. He attacks while he moves during this part, and he'll waste some of his attack moving to you, most of the time he'll only get enough time to land the final hits on you, and if you're shielding you'll be safe. This is why I advised caution. It's just unfair, and absolutely pathetic. Any Kirby mains are going to have to play this so many times that it's like the game hates them...which it does. I really wanna try doing this with Lucario now though, if only to see how i'd do, with how much damage i'm gonna take.

You'll find yourself hitting the acid more than anything. Also, the enemies are actually ones that appear in Smash Run, just in the form of swarm (what Master Core's made of) 1 Reyn reacted to this
Sorual 607 Posted November 29, 2014 So since the game released for you all (assuming none of of are in Japan) do you have any new main characters you play as? Have new characters or move set changes made you switch to another main? For me I have more than 1. Pit, Megaman, and Greninja. (I could not pick 1 ) 2 Marth and Jilly Shears reacted to this

(I could not pick 1 ) I'm starting to main Toon Link (you better have enjoyed that combo last night Spider), and focusing a little more on Robin (Somehow I'm doing good as him), and Shulk has a bit more emphasis (I can really make a comeback). So basically: 1. Shulk 2. Robin 3. Toon Link. 2 Reyn and Sorual reacted to this

(I could not pick 1 ) Ever since the 3DS version was released, I've been using these characters: Shulk Ness (My main in every other game) Greninja Zelda (My secondary character in Melee/Brawl) Duck Hunt The Wii U version added these two: Kirby (I've been using him ever since I got the amiibo) Robin (He/She feels a LOT better in the Wii U version for whatever reason) And I stopped using the following Brawl characters: Olimar (I hate all of the changes to his moveset) Toon Link (I loved using him in Brawl, but he feels weird to me now) Ice Climbers (R.I.P.) I've got a lot of characters who I also like to use, but don't use quite as often. Edited November 29, 2014 by Shulk 1 Sorual reacted to this

Rosalina & Luma, Ludwig, Jigglypuff, and Mr. Game & Watch are all characters that I use somewhat regularly. Ice Climbers were kind of a tough character to get down, but I really liked that about them. I really hope they can somehow get added as DLC, even if it means they're only in the Wii U version. Hero of Winds 2,576 Posted November 29, 2014 I still main Toon Link. He's not very different from brawl so that's a plus for me. I'm also extremely good with Lucina, and use Shulk a lot too (though I'm still not the greatest with him). I've also picked up both Marios in the Wii U version, Pikachu in the 3DS version, and Yoshi in the 3DS version. Yoshi needs a lot of work still. He's so good though that I actually bought the Yoshi amiibo.

(I could not pick 1 ) My main has switched to the Villager: I like his unorthodox moveset. Dedede is still my number two, but with so many people having counters now, the readability of his heavier moves makes it harder to tank, so I'm usually forced to settle for the less satisfying hits with him. My number three at this point is probably Zelda, because one of the prevailing strategies people seem to be using in online is getting right in their opponents face, and Nayru's Love is a good way to force them to back off. 4 Jilly Shears, Marth, Sorual and 1 other reacted to this

OmegaForte 1,674 Posted November 29, 2014 (edited) I haven't invested as much time in Smash due to ORAS, but I've been getting decent with Lucina. As for my old mains, I really hate Pilachu's nerf on Thunder. Forget the tweak, it's just bad as it's slower and less knock back compared to Brawl. Lucario is faster, so I feel so out of place with him atm. Peach feels the same, so I've been adjusting to the 60 fps. What really sucks is her down special is pointless. Slow and useless when you can be using Toad or playing defensively In general, then go for the float+attack or quick smash for a finisher. In other words, no range attacks whatsoever. Reyn 1,755 Posted November 29, 2014 (edited) Right now, i have these characters as my mains: Shulk (that's right Shulk, i'm gonna get better at playing you than you are. : 3 Now it's Reyn time) Marth (Never started using him until now, Smash Flash 2 got me interested in him, my spacing is really good with tips, so i do better with him than i do with Lucina honestly) Bowser (Since Brawl i've used him, he's pretty fun, but now he's better than ever) Lucario (Again since Brawl) Fox Ness Pit (sometimes) I also use Robin sometimes (i'm pretty good with him), aswell as Ike, Palutena, Peach and Charizard, though i wouldn't say i main them. I do want to main Sonic though, but i need more practice first. Edited November 29, 2014 by Reyn

PK Thunder got nerfed badly, it's not nearly as fast as it was in the 3DS version, it feels like Luca's, but that's worse, since now you can't combo that well with it. I also use Robin sometimes (i'm pretty good with him), aswell as Ike, Palutena, Peach and Charizard, though i wouldn't say i main them. I do want to main Sonic though, but i need more practice first. Zelda's honestly super fun to play as just because of how unique her moveset is. Like there's nothing better than reflecting and dealing damage with nayru's love, or launching people with a perfectly placed farore's wind. lol

I found that the other swords keep slashing you... you can't exactly just run to the side. And those who struggle with Master Edges, when he does slashes and creates energy balls, just go right up to him and attack, and then dodge back when the balls return.
