I want another stage the size of Hyrule Temple.

Probably the Town from AC: New Leaf will appear, maybe a Sanic Lost World if they keep him in SSB4. Which is likely with the Sega-Nintendo partnership.

So far we have Skyloft which i was hoping would make its way into the next Smash brothers. But what other stages would you like to see in the next SSB? Maybe we could see a Megaman 2 stage since they are going to have some songs from that game. And maybe would could see a Viridi-themed stages from Kid Icarus: Uprising. Would love to see Viridi make a cameo appearence in the game since she's one of my favorite characters in KI:U.

what about metropolis from sonic 2, green hill zone from sonic 1, hell ssb needs more sonic stages in general :)

There is an Animal Crossing stage but only in the Wii U and it isn't technically from New Leaf either.

Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai has revealed that not all the characters that were playable in previous Smash Bros games will be making a return to the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS Super Smash Bros. Sakurai says that this is purely because there just isn’t enough time to recreate them all. He concluded by saying that he will put in all the characters he can, but he understands that some fans will be disappointed at not being able to play as their favourite character.

 

“I can answer that: no. We don’t have the time to fully recreate every single character who’s been in Smash Bros at this point.”

 

“Adding new characters is not a simple addition – it’s really multiplication. The amount of work, adding a character is multiplied and becomes bigger and bigger as you go. We can’t because of the amount of work it takes. However, I do believe I understand that each character has its own set of fans out there who really like that character.”

 

“So we’re not going to cut characters out of the way, we’re going to put in as many characters as we can, we really want to do that, because it’s good for the fans and good for all of us. But in the event that we do have to cut some characters, I’d like to apologise in advance to those fans.”

Masahiro Sakurai has explained to Now Gamer the differences between the long-awaitedSuper Smash Bros games on the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. Sakurai explained that the team will include the same characters in each version as they don’t want anyone to feel left out. Sakurai says that both versions will look fantastic, but the Wii U version of the game will include increased fidelity and detail. This basically means Sakurai and his team will have the ability to create things on a bigger scale. Sakurai also says that there are limitations in bringing over stages from Smash Bros Brawl for Wii in the latest Super Smash Bros game. Here’s what he had to say.

 

“Fundamentally we’re going to have the same characters on both systems. If there was a character you couldn’t play on Wii U but you could play on 3DS, or vice versa, that’s rough for consumers. So we want players to be able to have the same character experiences on both devices.”

 

“I don’t have a preference whether they own the Wii U version or the 3DS version or both versions. It’s sort of like what I talk about with the game creation philosophy itself – I really want the end user, the game player themselves, to find what they like and really just go with that.”

 

“From an artistic standpoint, when we’re looking at these high detail environments that we’re creating, we now have to go in and work on all of those little things, because as you can see, if you don’t put in the attention to detail they look flat and lifeless.”

 

“If we did do that [include stages from Brawl] stuff that was on Wii would have to be altered to be put on a 3DS. You’d have to make some tweaks. Whether or not you’d do that and still do those justice remains to be seen. We’re going to have to look at that.”

He then went on to say that due to certain limitations with the Nintendo 3DS they have been forced into a situation were they may have to reduce some of the characters to a certain degree. 

 

 

“I’m really sorry. If I were to answer that question, I’d get in a lot of trouble in a lot of different ways, so I can’t answer. (laughter) But I think I can say generally that there won’t be a trend of adding a lot of third-party characters. You can sort of think of Mega Man as being the special case.”

 

“The reality of the situation unfortunately is that there are certain limitations on the 3DS, so we’re forced into a situation where we may need to reduce some characters to a certain degree, but we’re really working hard to include as many characters as possible.”

Stages that I'd like:

 

Grunty's Tower (not going to happen, but it'd be so awesome!)

 

The Gangplank Galleon. I have a thing for ship levels, and I think it'd be cool. You could have the various Kremlings appear and muck things up.

 

Macbeth. You could fight on top of the train. Occasionally, one of the cargo crates under you could go, and the stage would get steadily smaller (I'd also expect constant commentary from the boss. "Here come the little hyenas now!")

 

If there is a Golden Sun presence in the game, it'd be neat to fight atop one of the Lighthouses. The gimmick on that one could be that the tower begins to shake and become unstable as the beacon is lit.

 

 

 

Something I don't want for stages is another Final Destination like area, where it's just flat. I understand the point behind it, where it is just plain vanilla for fights and fights alone, but it just gets overused to death. That's all anyone will ever fight on in online play, and it's just boring. I know that they think it's about a test of skill, but honestly, all it proves is that you can only fight in the most stagnant of environments, and can't adapt to changing variables.

I like Final Destination for fair fights, but i also like other stages like Onett and Corneria, where you have to adapt to your environment to win.

So you guys are telling me huge stages are meant to be "adaptable?"

 

There's more reasons why people usually go for neutral stages. The biggest one IMO: tier list would be a mess. I don't pay too much attention to it, but be realistic; some characters are better than others and having crazy stages like Mute City where speed matters even more just makes some characters even worse than they already are.

The way I view Final Destination is like comparing a driving range to an actual game of golf. Yeah, you can probably drive the ball pretty far on a flat plane, but what about when you have to get the ball around sand traps and water hazards, which need you to place the ball just perfectly rather than hammering on it? The game becomes much more complicated and interesting when you have to consider various circumstances and then play around them.

Masahiro Sakurai, the creator behind the Super Smash Bros franchises, says that the forthcoming Nintendo 3DS version was necessary to create in order to evolve the series. Sakurai said that the 3DS version was the starting point for the next game and adding a handheld version would evolve the series enough to differentiate it from Brawl and Melee.

 

“While the development of Kid Icarus: Uprising was at its end, Satoru Iwata came me propose to develop the new Smash Bros game, and asked me if it should be on 3DS or Wii U. We arrived at a point where the series could not evolve, and we wondered if the handheld console was the solution. In the past, we have increased the number of characters and arenas, but this was not enough.”

 

“At that time, we could have chosen to develop a 3DS version only, but we realised the presence of several limitations. I am referring to the fact of playing a game like Super Smash Bros on a small screen. Thus, even if it is not easy to develop two versions simultaneously, we chose to adapt the game experience to the specifications of each platform.”

 

“Even though the characters will be the same in the version Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, the arena will be completely different. In the 3DS version, they are based on games released on portable consoles, while Wii U, arenas are based on articles on home console games.”

The problem is the characters are too diverse. You can't compare them to real people. Sluggish characters like Ganon rely on strength and having them get their one aspect ruined because now they have to worry about their slugish movements be ruined by fast hazards (as stated before) makes them worse. It's not like we can make him less slow to adapt to stages. To each to their own I suppose.Now my head has "you're too slow!" running through my head lol. No wonder people don't use smash balls around him. Edited by OmegaForte
