Screams and Smiles (Roleplay)

[Arya Stark 1,337]

Charlie looked up from his music haven to see Jack's and Luke's cars pull up to the abandoned hotel. Smiling he jumped up, and shut off his radio. He threw open his guitar case and placed his axe inside. He closed it tight, and started walking towards the hotel. Hopefully, he'd be able to play for everyone later. Completely relaxed, Charlie wandered into the hotel. "Hey guys. Party swinging yet?" He said, setting his guitar down and jumping onto a dusty couch. Dust and dirt exploded from the sofa, it being a long time since anyone had sat in it.

(Jack)

Jack looked out to see a faint light outside.

"It's probably Akito's car, I bet he's with the rest of them."

He looked to everyone that was with him. "Well, is someone going to get them? I ain't getting any younger, and it's better to do this while it's still dark, so hurry up and get them."

 

(Ezekiel)

Ezekiel sighed, and began to leave the hotel.

(I'm terrified, but I don't think I'm going to be less terrified in this hotel.) He thought. (So at least by going outside to get them we can get this thing over with and they can take me home.) He opened the large doors, and looked back.

"Come on anyone who's going." Ezekiel said smiling warmly. "I would like to have someone come with me, but I wanna get this over with so  I'm going now." He left the hotel and left the door open allowing anyone to follow him.

He got closer to Akito, Charlie, Lily and Joshua.

"Hey guys!" He called out loud waving and approaching them slowly. "We're over at the hotel! Let's go, the sooner the better!" He shouted.

Mai slung her small backpack over her shoulder and looked over to see Ezekiel get the others. Not having anything else to do, she decided to follow close behind him out the door. After a minute or two, the others started to come into view. Mai didn't say anything though but simply waved at them and her eyes started to wander around their surroundings a bit more. Still not a creepy...., she thought

Lily frowned, shaking her head no. "I'm not sure, I haven't seen anybody else though." Lily looked around the town, she'd never been there before, and so far she didn't like the look of it. However, even though the town looked dark and creepy she still didn't believe that it was haunted in any way shape or form.

 

Lily turned upon noticing Ezekiel walking towards them. "Hey Ezekiel!" she greeted, waving. "Okay! We're coming!"

Sora kept close to Rin.

As Ezekiel called out to the others, Sora looked a bit relieved, thankfully.

"Least we're in a reasonable group..."

I turned a bit over to the side as Ezekiel came running to us. "Ezekiel?" I asked myself aloud a bit, rhetorically. (I'm actually a little surprised he came here...then again, I came and didn't want to, either.) I thought to myself. I ran up to Lily and Ezekiel, rather enthusiastic to see someone else in this dead town. It was dark already too, not pitch black, though. The stars and moon still glistened rather nicely. "Where's everyone else? We were supposed to meet here...don't tell me Jack was driving. He probably went somewhere else."

(Ezekiel)

Ezekiel shrugged. "Well, you know how he can be." (Joshua came too, he's so young and.... smaller than I remember from last time I saw him. He's probably more braver about this than I am though...)

He looked back to the hotel.

"Well, Jack found a hotel, and Faith picked the lock, so we could do whatever it is we are here to do in the hotel or out here, whatever you guys want to do." Ezekiel shivered. "This place is really creeping me out I don't care where we do this, as long as we do it and get out of here."

 

(Jack)

Jack yawned and put his arm around Faith.

"Oh I just love it when you have those little nicknames for me, F.S." He made kissing sounds, "I know you can't resist me though, just give in to your inner desires already."

"Yeah...I really don't want to be here, either...." I mumbled. I was already here though, so it'd be too late to back off. "I guess we should go though...even if Jack's there it's best if we're with more people." I said. I could already feel the chills rushing down my spine and throughout my entire body. I was getting nervous, clearly...I turned back for a split second to call Akito over. "Hey, Akito! Huh?" He wasn't there. He just was a moment ago...where could he have...gone? "Where is he? Maybe he left to the hotel already...he always did like to be early...."

"'Ey mate! Piss off!" Charlie called at Jack. He definitely liked Jack the least out of their group. Who invited him anyway? Nobody else liked him either. "Just a guess, but F.S. probably doesn't prefer that." He continued, unpacking his guitar. He glared at Jack while playing a few quick chords that clearly displayed his displeasure with Jack. Then Charlie looked over to the window scanning for everybody else. "Hopefully Ezekiel will be back soon with everybody else. Then we can get this night started."

(Ezekiel)

Ezekiel beckoned to them. "Well, come on, lets get this started." He headed back to the hotel. (A ouiji board.... this can't end well.) He thought to himself. (But this stuff isn't real, my brother was just a nutcase. He wasn't possessed, that's not possible...) He continued reminiscing on bad memories while walking back to the hotel.

 

(Jack)

Jack rolled his eyes at Charlie. "Whatever, lets get this stuff started." He took out the wooden board with engraved letters and numbers, and two full words, "yes" and "no" at the bottom of it as well. He also pulled out a triangular pointer, with a circular magnifying glass in the center of it. It was placed on that pointer to magnify the letter it would be over when "spirits" moved it around. He set both objects on a nearby circular table, with enough chairs for everyone to sit around it. He sat down himself, and signaled with his hands that it was okay for everyone else to sit down as well.

He turned his head towards the door to notice Ezekiel and the others arriving. "Cool, just about everyone is here. Hurry up and sit down and we can get this show on the road."

Faith sighed. "Luke,thank goodness. Jack is well being himself. " She told him and walked over to him.

"Luke this is..the rest,rest this is Luke." She said making quick intros. (Sorry,lame post I know -_-)

[Lady Aleister 1,677]

"GYAAAA AN OUIJI BOARD!!!" Rin yelled at the sight of it. She desperately hid behind Mai, covering her eyes.

"MAI! GET IT AWAYYYY!" She screamed.

 

(SODOM IS SCARED.)

As Rin screamed, Sora followed with a scream, hiding behind Rin who was hising behind Mai, clinging to her friend's arm.

"WHY ARE WE SCREAMING? YOU'RE SCARING ME!"

Rin looked at Sora.

"It's a freaking ouiji board....SORA. Mai. I am leaving." With that, Rin stood up. She walked to the door, opened it, then closed it...then ran out of the building reeaaallllyyyy fast.

Rin was scared of this stuff.....she didn't want anything coming to haunt her.

Luke smile, ruffling Faith's hair a bit as he walked a few feet from her.

"Hey." He said, "So this is the place, huh?" Luke asked to no one in particular, and looked around. "What..exactly are we here for? Faith called me and just told me to come.." Luke said, giving a silly (Yet a glaringly accusing) glance to her.

Lily walked with Joshua and Ezekiel back to the hotel, her expression still slightly worried; there was something about the town that set her on edge...both the town and the hotel. Lily scowled when she saw Jack; she was not fond of him whatsoever, he gave her the creeps worse then the town did. She turned to everyone else and grinned. "Hey everyone!"

 

Lily peered around the room and at the Ouiji board on the table. An Ouiji board? She crossed her arms and looked over to where Jack was. "Three guesses on who brought it," she muttered under her breath. "To be honest Jack, I'd rather not," she said, uneasiness written across her face as she eyed the board.

I didn't really say much on the way to the hotel. It was dark and cold...I wasn't used to this weather. I've been rather cold before, usually in the night too, but by then I was snuggling myself across the house, wrapped in a blanket like a kid even younger than I was would do. I greeted myself to everyone else naturally, once we got there: "Hey, guys! I'm glad there's so much of us here. But...um...is Akito not here???" I asked. My attention span was easily diverted as soon as I saw the board. "Huh...? A OUIJA BOARD!? " I exclaimed. I jumped back to the corner and just sat down miserably. "There's no way we're using that...."

(Jack)

Jack shook his head.

"Y'all are a bunch of losers, just stop being a bunch of chickens and lets get this show on the road."

He cracked his knuckles and placed his hand on the pointer.

In a serious low tone, he began: "Spirits of the deceased and demons from hell, we call to you to communicate with us." He closed his eyes. After a few moments of silence, he opened his eyes again. "They're here."

Jack cleared his throat. "Can you hear us?"

The pointer began to move, first only a little, and then progressively faster, until it stopped on "Yes"

"Are you from this hotel?" He asked.

The pointer moved to the bottom of the board, and then back to "Yes"

"How did you die?" Jack asked aloud.

The pointer began to move to different letters. Each time the pointer seemed to be randomly jerking. Jack kept track of the letters, until it stopped.

"It said 'I was murdered. By someone who's still here." He said bluntly.

 

(Ezekiel)

Ezekiel was horrified. Was this stuff actually real? And was there really a murderer here?

"No, this isn't happening... This isn't real!" He said, beginning to shake very fast.

[Saber Lily 1,543]

"You're lying! You just made that up! Stop being so mean, Jack!"

Sora followed Ron out with a small scream, nearly running Rin over.

(Rin ran out of the building)

 

 

"No! There's no way I'm staying here, Jack!" I screamed. Following what Rin decided to do, I booked it. Simply running out of the house with all the speed I could muster.

Back at the hotel, silence dawned over the room. Nothing happened. Simply...nothing. No sound. No abnormal sight. No different smell. Everything was the same...for a bit. In an instant, a shadow gloomed over Jack and his body twitched and turned cold and pale in an instant. With a raspy...worried voice unlike Jack's, his body spoke. "You're not escaping until the clock hits six. Just...run. Away from him. The smiling man."

[Lunar Berserker 14]

Lily gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. Staring wide-eyed at Jack, then without a second thought she bolted from the hotel, running as fast as she could. After seeing that, there was simply no way she was going to stay in there! She had now completely altered her definition of 'crazy'.

 

She saw Joshua running as well, and she followed, speeding up slightly so that she could catch up with him. "Joshua oh my god, did you see that? We've gotta get out of here! It looked like that thing possessed him!" She yelled all in one breath. She'd never been more scared in her life. The thing she was most scared about were the chilling words...to run from the smiling man and that they wouldn't be able to escape until six.

Ezekiel fell back in his chair, and crawled away quickly, still facing Jack.  He got to the door, still on the floor.

"J-J-J-Jack?" Ezekiel managed to get out, stuttering profusely. "Are you... Jack?" Ezekiel could barely move, and forming sentences became more and more difficult.

He may have not liked Jack, maybe even hated him. But he hated to see him go like that.... Just like his brother.

He was immobile, doing his best to move but unable to.

(Help, someone...) He thought, unable to talk anymore.

As suddenly as it began, it ended. Jack's body was returned to his own mentality, and whatever it was that warned everyone, it was gone too. Jack was back to himself, if anything just a bit traumatized, but afterwards, nothing happened. Silence dawned over everything again. Nothing but the grandfather clock's tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock. Once everything went quiet, I stopped as I reached Rin. I clenched her sleeve tightly, glaring back at the darkness and the unknown of what just happened.

Luke blinked. He wasn't sure what had happened--but it was certain that, whatever it was, it wasn't good.

"The..f-" He cursed, confused and a little scared. Jack was using some weird bored..and then..it worked. Possession..murder..it somewhat frightened Luke, but it wasn't what truly scared him. Luke absentmindedly reached for Faith's hand, hoping for warmth and human contact to ensure he wasn't alone in what was a quickly escalating situation.
