Haha, here it comes! So I'm going to try and be very mature about this as I can, and I hope that fellow members on kh13 can do the same. I've seen similar video's by this specific man who goes around educating people on what it says about Earth in the Bible. He brings up very good points, as both science and religion can't both come up with a sound answer on whether or not evolution really happened. Brainwashing, to me, is forcing someone to think the way you do. Everyone in that conference had a choice whether or not to go, so they weren't forced to learn about this. Another argument can be brought up about whether or not they brainwash children in school. Growing up as a child here in America, I was lead to believe that America is the greatest nation, because we are free and can vote, but upon further research, I came to find out that other countries can vote, and are free. Even though, that's not to say all of them are, I'm just saying growing up as a child I was forced to learn about America and America only. It wasn't until High School and College that I was allowed to learn about other countries, and the history and World Wars, as a child we only were taught about the Indians in America, and slaves. As an 8th grader, I couldn't have told you who Hitler was or what the Vietnam war was, it was just never taught to me, but I was an expert on Slavery and Martian Luther King Jr. I guess the point is people should be able to voice their opinions whether they are religious or not, and not get criticized for it. How many people are made fun of just because they say "I am a Christian". I know I am all of the time, not every religious person is the same, and each hold onto their own "personal views". Like at my church, gay couples encouraged to attend, but at other churches, gay couples would be frowned upon, you get what I'm trying to say?

Again, I go (or went to, been on study leave for 4 weeks, have an exam then never back again) to a Catholic school and we were taught that the story of creationism was mainly symbolic and metaphorical, the same way the Nativity was.  As in the world was created by one intelligent designer, but "one day" was metaphorical/symbolic for several years, up to thousands, and that evolution did occur but it was planned out by God.

 

Either way, I don't give a shit, i'm like a Catholic Atheist, I learnt all that stuff but I really really really don't care.  I don't hate it though, I'm completely indifferent to it.  As long as someone isn't a dick, which can range from Christians protesting same-sex marriage to atheists randomly slurring Christians for the sake of slurring them, across all religions, I'm sweet with you long as you're sweet with me.

I'm sick too. Why do some people find the need to bash all Christians just because a small amount do some stupid things? We don't all share the exact same mindset. Every group has good people and bad people. Some Atheists (Note: SOME, not all) try to force Christians to believe the things they do, too. I completely support this guy. However, I am tired of people making Chirstians into the bad guys. This is not brainwashing! It is fact! This whole evolution stuff is malarchy to me. Christians have every right to believe in creationalism, however, they are NOT brainwashing, but speaking truth. If creationalism is brainwashing, you might as well say that all religion is brainwashing and IT IS NOT.
