Reyn 1,755 Posted May 27, 2013 I didn't find out about it until 2012, when i played the DDD demo that got me into this. I headed over to a friends house to use his WIFI for my 3DS, since i don't have it at my house. I went on the Nintendo E-Shop, and found the KH3D demo, so i downloaded it and played it. I LOVED IT FROM THE START. The story seemed ok(There was only 1 cutscene in the demo, so yeah), but the graphics and gameplay were amazing. I'd never played an ACTION RPG before, only normal ones, so this was completely new and amazing to me. So naturally, i reserved a copy of DDD at Target and got it the day it came out. Lucky i did that, since it completely sold out on the first day. Then i played the game and thought the story was amazing, but some parts of it didn't make sense, since i didn't bother to read up about the other games in the DDD Menu, and i hadn't played any of KH Games, so i was all like: "Who's Xehanort? Who are these people connected to Sora!? Why does this seem like Final Fantasy?" And more stuff. So i read up about the rest of the series after i beat the game on Proud. And i got into the series. If it hadn't been on 3DS, i probably wouldn't have found out about it until i got my PS3, at the end of 2012.

Sikota Urinakano 876 Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) I remember seeing some ads for 3582 Days and Re: Coded when they were new. BbS escaped me somehow... I remember seeing a new copy of Days in GameStop and recognizing the series, I had been intrigued for a number of months, Disney characters in some epic tale full of actiony things I'd just eat up as a grade schooler. I was browsing upcoming 3DS games and KH DDD was one of them, recognizing the series, I looked into it. It was pretty cool. When my mom refused to allow me to play my Samurai Warriors: Chronicles game, I exchanged it for Re: Coded, being the only title I could remember at the time, so I could consider myself caught up before DDD. It was pretty cool and I was rather lost story-wise. Looking up video summaries of the series I eventually fell in love. I got Days soon after completing Re: Coded and DDD as soon as it came out. Exlon 165 Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) Browsing Final Fantasy games on Amazon. I saw 358/2 Days, looked at it, couldn't understand the game at ALL, saw it was a series, saw that the other games were on the PS2, thought "No way am I gonna buy a system for a series I know nothing about," went to Walmart to get a random game for myself, picked Days over 1 or 2 other games on a whim, and ended up loving it. Then I went and got a used PS2 as well as KH, and the rest is history. ^^ Oh, this was all 3 years ago, btw. Edited May 27, 2013 by Exlon
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted May 27, 2013 2009. High School Cafeteria. My new friend Roger was playing Days and ix liked it. Went to GameStop. Guy told ke I should play the rest. Of course. This was after my stepmom wouldn't let me get it because of magic and some stupid Disney boycott or some bull. Then I got all the things and lack only BBS. VisitJoan 2,713 Posted May 27, 2013 I saw the adds for it on Disney Chanel way back when, but I didn't have an interest in it until Nintendo Power did an article on DDD.

Isaix 924 Posted May 27, 2013 Two of my friends told me all about Kingdom Hearts, the story, the gameplay and how much they both liked the game.Back then I was in elementary school and KH2 didn't even exist.but I didn't had a PS2 so I couldn't buy it.then as time went on I slowly forgot about the serie until I saw the trailers for 358/2 days on the Nintendo Channel(on Wii) and I was so impressed by the CG cutscenes, they were so amazing for the DS that I decided to buy the game and because I really liked the story I bought BBS,KH2,I watched all the cutscenes of KH3D on the Internet and now I'm waiting for 1.
AnHeiressofaSOLDIER 358 Posted May 27, 2013 The "Disney's Secret Lab" commercial that they first aired for KHI. The idea that you could "control the Disney movies" sold my sister and I right there. We didn't even have a PS2 at the time! But we had our parents get us one for Christmas just for KH, and I haven't looked back since. I've played every U.S. released KH game, and know I always will, too (buying game systems in the process, undoubtedly). KH has impacted my life in an amazing way, and that's why it'll always be a part of me and vice versa. It's been a great ten years (and more than half of my life)! LOL. Dracozombie 4,554 Posted May 27, 2013 Commercial for KH1 way back when. Didn't do me much good at the time 'cause I hadn't gotten past the Disney + Final Fantasy weirdness. Glad I did.

PillowHead 569 Posted May 27, 2013 I saw a commercial for KH2 back then, and once I heard the song (can't remember which one was playing), I was like "I'M GETTING THIS.". I remember feeling sad because I had to sell my power ranger toys to buy it, but, let me tell you, it was worth it.

Javelin434 3,164 Posted May 27, 2013 When I first saw Kairi while googling something for a school project. I had to know the name of the cute red haired girl with blue eyes and purple skirt. SO after finding out her name and what game she came from, I decided to play the game. Technically, it was love at first sight.Best... accident... Shulk 8,623 Posted May 27, 2013 I saw commercials for the first game before it was released, and for whatever reason, my 4/5 year old self thought it seemed dumb. Thankfully, I saw my cousin playing it shortly after its release (A month or so I'd say), and asked him what it was. Got it for Christmas, and have played ever since. In other words, I'm one of those people that's been playing it since the first game came out. Proud to be able to say so.
Dave 5,715 Posted May 27, 2013 I remember seeing the magazine article when Kingdom Hearts 1 came out (though I can't remember the magazine...), and the first thing I noticed was the Disney aspect, because I love Disney. I didn't actually play it, however, for a very long time afterwards.

Rob 5,571 Posted May 27, 2013 Long story short. It was back in 2002. One thing lead to another. Didnt get into the series fully until 2006.
mosokisa 93 Posted May 27, 2013 My friend had played KH1 and 2 and on my birthday two years ago, she borrowed the first game to me. I'm so thankful to her that she did. I didn't know there were more than two games in the series back then and there was quite a lot I didn't understand in the series but I liked it and as I played more I started loving it. JJForever 75 Posted May 28, 2013 KH1 came with my first Ps2 back in 2004 I believe. (Maaybeee 2003). I was about eight years old at the time. I remember not being able to find the cloth as one of the supplies for the raft, so I 'Raged quit' for lack of a better term. It just so happens my older brother got the same bundle that year, and he helped me through my first play through of KH1. Ever since then, i've been in love with the series.
