Another thing that confused me is why he stated that Sora obtained his Keyblade from Riku by "touching it". No such thing happened. It's probably already determined (My viewpoint isn't necessarily the right idea), but I assume that Sora obtained the Keyblade primarily because of Ventus's heart residing within him. I think it's kinda disappointing they were a bit off on some facts or left some things out but you can't expect everything from a fan timeline.
