Taeyeon 1,137 Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) Attack on Titan is one the few Animes where I prefer subs over dubs. They got, Cap. Levi voice spot on, and I can't imagine them pulling it off in the dubs. And to answer DarkAvengers question, My fav character is Mikasa I consider her as one my Waifu's Edited January 29, 2014 by Lie Ren
Xiro 3,468 Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) Btw my favorite characters are Eren and Levi. And to answer DarkAvengers question, My fav character is Mikasa I consider her as one my Waifu's Levi is fabu Although SnK is a wonderful anime, it's not perfect. The main three protagonists don't seem to develop much. Mikasa is still an Eren-crazed pseudo/semi-yandere (although that helps with killing Titans), Eren still talks shit and gets hit (although he gets slightly better), and Armin is still... Armin. The story also tends to throw in too many questions and not giving a proportional amount of answers. Granted, last time I read the manga it looked like things were finally going to start getting solved, but still, you never know. To end on a better note, the soundtrack is magnificent. Cucco 1,907 Posted May 27, 2014 I mean, sometimes the writing is bad, and the dub is certainly terrible, but in the long run it's a fantastic show

Taeyeon 1,137 Posted May 27, 2014 (edited) AoT is pretty darn awesome...But man.. oh man, am I starting to hate the people that say "Attack on titan is da best anime evaarr!!!", and refuse to acknowledge the flaws it has. Col.Random 3,683 Posted May 27, 2014 I only have a few complaints about the show:Minor characters are killed off too easilySome of the major characters seem unusually OP.Sometimes the character's eyes have this shadow of them and they slightly resemble a raccoonBut yeah I pretty much love the show, but like Kamen said, people need to stop over hyping it because that kinda gives new viewers extremely high expectations and then they get disappointed 1 Cucco reacted to this
Geotrix 862 Posted May 30, 2014 Attack on Titan is pretty darn fantastic. The only flaw is the padding. Some episodes seem to go no where and they don't really seem to add anything to the overall plot. The anime is fantastic though. The manga however has taken a turn for the worst recently, after chapter 50 it's become a snooze fest full of padding and extremely boring story lines, I'm hoping it will pick up soon. Velvet Scarlatina 607 Posted May 31, 2014 I actually pre-ordered the blu-ray english dub of the first season to hold me over for the second.
MasterXemnas 2,285 Posted May 31, 2014 (fool) what dont you like about the message? Fool. It puts a lot of emphasis on how the individual doesn't matter. That what people do should be for the "greater good". And this only pertains to the lower class of people while the higher ups are allowed to maintain their individualism. Taeyeon 1,137 Posted June 1, 2014 It's was pretty awesome when I watch it, and I can't wait for season 2... But so much praise for this anime is to the point of annoyance, It's awesome yes I know, I watched it.... But it's not the best anime on the corner. It's just to mainstream, which isn't bad... But it's annoyance when peeps are like "AoT is awesome, everything else sucks"
Stardustblade358 806 Posted June 6, 2014 Beautiful soundtrack, wonderful animation, and love the concept. I personally like the anime better than the manga,I guess because it shows a bit more emotion. (Or could be just preference) but the manga gives so many details that its hard to not read. It's not the "best anime of all time",but it's pretty good. Firaga 5,947 Posted June 8, 2014 (edited) I've been meaning to post here, but I haven't found the time. A friend of mine recommended me to watch the anime back when it was still hot. I watched the first seven episodes but quickly fell out of it. Not because I necessarily thought the show was bad, but other things got in the way and quite frankly, all the over-hype for the show was sort of ruining the viewing experience for me. Now that the show has finished its first season and began airing on Toonami some time ago, I gave the show another chance. I actually liked it a lot better than I did the first time, firstly because most of the over-hype (at least for me) has died down a little and also because of the English dub. People who know me best will know that I prefer English over Japanese; the English cast for AoT is stellar as well (All hail Papenbrook), so that helps. It's also a lot easier to follow for me considering that each character actually has a unique voice instead of the tried and true formula of only using about six different voices in the Japanese dub. JKlol I'm six episodes in and since I didn't remember much from the first time I watched it, any previous criticism I had then doesn't really apply to my viewing experience now. I remember a little bit of what's going to happen next week but only vaguely so for the most part its still a surprise. However, in my second run, I've picked up a few things that I don't like so far, and that has to do with the main characters Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlet. 1) Eren's character is... well, it's a mix of both insane obsession, unneeded aggression, and overall, the act of what I like to call "talking shit and getting hit." The dude wants to kill the Titans b/c his mom got chomped and he's sick of everybody else being chomped, I get that. But here you have a kid who's pretty much been off his rocker since childhood (as I saw in the newest episode) who spends most of his time getting pissy with people or telling them off for not wanting to go into battle and die. Also, when he finally gets a chance to fight the Titans, all of his trash talking amounts to zero shits given as the Colossal Titan kicks his ass, kicks his teammates' ass, and... well, you know what happens next. The best thing I like about Eren so far is that he's voiced by freaking Bryce Papenbrook, and that's a bad sign for the character. However, I'm not gonna cry "horrible main" just yet, b/c I'm only six episodes in (and yes I know what happened last episode and I know what will happen next episode so this still applies) so I can't really judge Eren for his character for what I've seen b/c there's still much more to see from him. I just really hope I can get to like him better on. 2) Mikasa's character is, I think, one of the most over-hyped, glorified, on-a-damn-pedestal female characters I have ever come across. I mean, I've listen to what the people have said. "OMG, Mikasa is such a great character, she's totally better than all the other shonen female leads." Okay first off, get your shit straight people, this is a seinen series, not shonen; second, that statement of her being a great character is B.S. to me; Mikasa is an over-bearing, fixated and FORCED character, who's drive to protect and fight with Eren is really dragging down the whole "great character" thing. I mean, I'm not saying its wrong for her to care about Eren, but when your character solely revolves around him and you got no over freaking direction to go without him (which is called a satellite character btw), then obviously you're not that well-written. Also, when I said FORCED earlier, I'm implying her backstory, everything about it feels FORCED. Her parent's dying, what with random bad guys charging in and stabbing the dad, while mom stupidly tries to attack them with scissors as she's slaughtered right in front of Mikasa. FORCED. The fact that the reason this is happening is because of her race and it really doesn't tie into anything else but that, leaving the whole point to be sort of pointless and FORCED. Eren Jaeger killing the bastards and yelling at Mikasa to kill them too. FORCED. Hell, I'm sorry, but even the whole Mikasa joining Eren's family thing to me feels FORCED at this point. It's just so fake and contrived. But again, I am not fully judging the character and am waiting further development. 3) Armin... *sigh* motherf**king Armin. Look, before you get me for this, I get what's trying to be done with Armin: he's the type of guy that doesn't fight with his fists and instead uses his brains, I get it. Hell, I've even been told that he becomes more a strategist later on the series, and I'm fine with that. HOWEVER... the whining, the crying, the bitching, the moaning, the AVARICE that his character holds as well... I can't freaking bear it. I do NOT like this guy right now, I do NOT. I would rather have his scrawny ass killed off at this point. I mean GEEZ I get that the world is f**ked up, but this guy just oversells it to the MAX. You don't see his other teammates crying over this shit as much as he does. Hell, freaking Mikasa is suffering from PTSD, and SHE'S not even losing her shit as much as he has. He even started bawling in the new episode in the scene with him, Hanna, and Franz. I mean SHIT dude, you just walked away from a gore filled battle with one of your friends getting chomped (won't say who but I think you all know who I mean) and the fact that Franz pretty much just collapsed or whatever happened and Hanna is too stupid to get him back to base and to a doctor or something (I'm not trying to play down Franz for his bad state, I'm just Saiyan, we have people being eaten by giant monsters, you'd think that this guy, who's obviously hasn't been on the God damn battlefield considering he's pretty much untouched except for the whole no-breathing thing, the emphasis on him dying would be with that. But no, he can't breathe and Hanna is giving him CPR. Yeah real freaking tragic compared to everything else we've seen.) and Armin is just standing there like a bitch, bawling his eyes out, saying "This is Hell". Yeah. This is Hell, Armin. There's nobody around to eat you right now, and your teammates are being idiots right now. Meanwhile in the next scene, we got innocent civilians on the verge of getting their shit smashed by Slow Hank Hill the Titan on top of some rich asshole trying to basically let them die. Yeah. That's not more/as tragic as the last thing at all.. AT ALL. Please for the love of God may my mind be changed soon. SOON. *sigh* Okay, I've said what I've needed to say. So overall, my biggest beef is with the main leads right now. They're so wrongly built up so far that it's hampering my experience with the show. And obviously, there are other elements that bug me too, as I explained with the characters b/c these problems go hand in hand with the problems I have with the characters. Overall, it's not that bad. I really hope these issues will be fixed later on in the show though. Edited June 12, 2014 by Firaga Sensei
Zola 3,038 Posted November 12, 2014 So. 63. Historia had better pull off some epic rescuing action or something. I want her to step up and fight. Yes, for the mostly-good-guys, but also for herself. For character development. And because Eren is in distress again. Go figure. Also, what is with all the Ackermans? Another familial plot twist of doom?
