Reyn 1,755 Posted May 19, 2013 I know its vital to the story and all, but for me, IT DRAGS ON SO LONG. Seriously. The sidequests to find the 7 wonders of Twilight Town makes it even worse. I don't mind playing it the first few times, but having to play through it EVERY TIME YOU GO THROUGH KH2, makes it REALLY annoying. If only Nomura could let you skip it and head on the Sora's way more fun story. 1 FireRubies1 reacted to this
Weiss 8,279 Posted May 19, 2013 Only when replaying the game for the 5th time and up. The first time however, it's pretty good. 2 Hazimie and Jilly Shears reacted to this

Ven983 490 Posted May 19, 2013 I personally enjoy it. of course the first time was the best because you are all "WTF is this kid?" It is not as exciting anymore, but I find it a nice change of pace between him and Sora.
Reyn 1,755 Posted May 19, 2013 Only when replaying the game for the 5th time and up. The first time however, it's pretty good. Thats what i mean, the first couple of times, i don't mind, but after awhile it gets really old and annoying. I love it the first 2 times, but after that it starts to really get annoying. Yes, I dread that 2 hour long "tutorial" You and me both Hei. If there's another speedrun trophy for KH2FM, this will really slow me down.
kaorulight 14 Posted May 19, 2013 i know i would honestly skip it if i could, it's too long and i love roxas but ehhh i can't take playing that over again :| 1 Reyn reacted to this
Kishira 2,854 Posted May 19, 2013 OMG. YES. I remember the first time playing it it felt like I was in Twilight Town for YEARS. So yeah, if the game had a 'Skip tutorial' option, I'd do it. 1 Reyn reacted to this
Jim 2,990 Posted May 19, 2013 It's a lot shorter if you skip all the scenes and you already know where to go. Like, if you want to get through the whole story besides it, I'd just skip all the scenes during the prologue and start actually watching them after Sora wakes up. But nah, I've always enjoyed the prologue for some reason. I think it's cool to follow new characters at the beginning of a storyline, as long as it's not too long before you get to play as the main character. It almost builds a bit of excitement for when you get to play as the main character. Same in FFXII, and the Harry Potter books. (except, FFXII got to a quicker start admittedly) 2 Reyn and 143436611Xxcc reacted to this

Dracozombie 4,554 Posted May 19, 2013 I love Roxas and we shouldn't be able to skip the story, but from a gameplay perspective, it's not really... good. At the least, they could make it less tedious. The part where you need to save up munny, for instance, is totally repetitive. Maybe more skilled writing would have given us the full story in a shorter time (brevity is the soul of wit, after all), so we don't have to slog through too many things to get the full scope. 3 FireRubies1, PillowHead and Reyn reacted to this
JTD95 1,107 Posted May 19, 2013 If you replay the game only once in awhile then it's kind nice and sweet to go through that little story. However, if you replay the game often then that bit at the beginning can be quite boring and feel extremely slow. I have sometimes wanted to replay the game but didn't feel like going through all that stuff at the beginning again. Not yet at least. 1 FireRubies1 reacted to this
rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted May 19, 2013 I enjoyed the Roxas opening to KH2, more than I did the "get supplies for the raft" tutorial of KH. It's also very important to the story, so I'd rather play through than skip it.
Reyn 1,755 Posted May 19, 2013 The tutorial in KH was pretty fast, if you knew where to find the materials. But in KH2. ITS ALOT LONGER and GETS BORING AFTER THE FIRST FEW TIMES.

AnHeiressofaSOLDIER 358 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) Yes. OMG, YES! I used to like it (and still do to an extent), but it's so slow, boring, and redundant. Seriously. With Days' existence, and knowing all of Roxas' story and then some, it's completely pointless now! It doesn't help that Xion herself was pretty much going through an elongated version of "Roxas' Twilight Town" in Days. It's also made bad by the fact that KHII is just so hammy, cliché, and silly at times. Don't get me wrong: I LOVE KHII, but they tried way too hard in that game to be epic, when really it just seems forced. It's like what NTom64 says about the Ansem/DiZ conversation here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy8rWxA8fCU Or when Sora and Kairi hug in KHII, he jokes, "Real emotion in my Kingdom Hearts game? Get it out. Get it out now!" And then when Sora's crying about Riku he's like, "There we go. Back to the bullshit." Oh, KHII. Just why? Anyway, moving on since I'm getting way off topic: Another thing I'm worried about is KHIIFM in II.5, actually. Mainly the scenes from Days that are in the game. In some ways... I sort of wish they'd leave them out. I'm probably going to get killed for saying that, but it was fine before Days existed. But now that we can just pop in the Days movie and see the scenes whenever we want to, it's really tedious and annoying. Especially since if you're playing the games in chronological order, you just saw the Roxas vs. Riku scene like five seconds ago, anyway. You don't need flashbacks in a game if you have an entire entry about those flashbacks. Edited May 19, 2013 by DenizenofTwilight
Rob 5,571 Posted May 19, 2013 Well, it isn't actually KH2 until the title shows up after Roxas goes back to Sora....so yes.

Captain Arrowguns 466 Posted May 19, 2013 If I could, I'd probably skip over to the last day, that way I could fight Axel. Seriously, that battle's on of my all time favorite KH fights. 1 Reyn reacted to this
Norma Jean 12 Posted May 19, 2013 YES. I love Roxas but that prologue... I was okay the first time, but the others... It's just so ANNOYING! Especially when you have to do jobs for going to the beach <_< And they didn't even go at the end!
WakelessDream 2,278 Posted May 19, 2013 Not a chance As many times as I've started a new game on KH2 I always loved playing through Roxas's prologue. Sure by the fourth or fifth time around the tutorials get redundant, but I love watching the cutscenes and since I already know what I'm doing I really don't think it drags on. *Shrugs* maybe it's just me though
MyDixieRect 2,061 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) I actually hated it the first time round...cause Sora, Kairi and Riku were separated possibly for good and when I could be doing my best to re-unite those three friends I'm playing as this nobody (heh, see what I did there) thinking 'Who's this! Bring me Sora back!" And it just went on and on and OOOON! Then after I played Days I grew appreciation for his character and now I love the prologue. To be honest though I can see how annoying it will be after the 5th or so playthrough. And 7 Wonders of Twilight Town and Munny Saving day? Kill them. Kill them with fire!! Dave 5,715 Posted May 19, 2013 I don't know. On one hand, there are times when you just want to motor through it. On the other, it does so much to build the atmosphere that I don't think continuing on to the main game would be the same without going through Roxas first. 1 Zola reacted to this
Keyblader 325 Posted May 20, 2013 I would only like to skip the "tutorial" parts. It would be nice if there were a "Include Tutorial" option. If you selected no, then all the events would just go by as cutscenes until real stuff came into play.
