Sora96 17,256 Posted May 10, 2013 The Japanese version of the HD Collection was finished in most likely, January. They started recording dialogue for the English version in January. The only game that needed dialogue recorded for was 358/2 Days. Most of the text had already been translated in the past for their respective original releases. The only announced difference between the Japanese and English releases is the artbook which has obviously been finished. I can't see any reason why the HD Collection is going to be released in September. The HD Collection's English version should be finished by now. And it can't just be because they want to feature it at E3 2013 because the HD Collection's English release is going to be a few months after the event. Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance]'s English version was released in late July. While the Japanese version's release was at the end of March rather than HD 1.5 ReMIX's Japanese mid March release. Kingdom Hearts 3D was a new, major release in the series for a new console, one that Square Enix didn't have a great deal of experience developing for. HD 1.5 ReMIX is for a console they have plenty of experience with. I want to know why it's going to end up taking so long. The only reason I can is they have made a "major" change such as something being added. But if they do that they would then have to release it as DLC in Japan. But DLC doesn't make much sense for a HD Collection. 3 JTD95, Reyn and Jim reacted to this
Shard the Gentleman 2,891 Posted May 10, 2013 I think it's because Kingdom Hearts came out in September in NA. It's probably also why it came out in March in Japan. Came out that month. It's a possibility.

Dio Brando 5,810 Posted May 10, 2013 The delay of the HD collection makes no sense at all. They already had the voices for KH1 and RE:COM ready for a long time and it wouldn't take them that long to do the voices for the 3582 days cutscenes since some of them are already voiced in the DS version Theater mode

Jim 2,990 Posted May 10, 2013 Im pretty sure they have a valid reason, why else would they prolong the time untill they can get money? Because it's Square Enix. They seem to make it a habit of doing that.

SHAZOW 269 Posted May 10, 2013 You guys, its a long process. First, yeah they revoiced Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. But that's not all. Since they wanted to bring Final Mix to the U..S., they had to translate everything. Not to mention they wanted to update the looks of the characters in the cutscenes. So they updated character models. This is just to name a few. It's all gonna be worth it in the end(well at-least to me it will).

Sora96 17,256 Posted May 10, 2013 How about the Artbook. Yes they are limited. But it still takes time for them to produce the item. Artbook is completed. It doesn't take four months to produce a limited amount of artbooks.
TheKingdomkid 1,194 Posted May 10, 2013 maybe because they still need to record the voices for the other languages it is going to be in?
SHAZOW 269 Posted May 10, 2013 (edited) Artbook is completed. It doesn't take four months to produce a limited amount of artbooks. You're talking about now to the release date?Think about it. When a company releases a game you obviously get a release date. But then you ask yourself "Why do they wait and release a game that is already finished"?You don't know if they are still adding "finishing touches" to it. They release it when they believe it would have the highest rate of purchases is a likely cause, or perhaps to close the time gap between this installment and the next one to make the wait not seem so long. Those are my guesses.

The only other languages the collection will be available in are a few European languages but they aren't recording dialogue for those countries. They will just be subtitled. But DLC doesn't make much sense for a HD Collection. Its simple. Square Enix is a troll. They're doing the exact same thing that Disney is doing with Disney Infinite. Disney says they could easily release it in Summer, but they won't for marketing purposes. Its stupid. But, we're the minority compared to Japan, which is why we will get it Half a year after Japan does, rather than just a couple months. I think it's because Kingdom Hearts came out in September in NA. It's probably also why it came out in March in Japan. Came out that month. It's a possibility. I could understand them doing that for DDD because it was the 10 year anniversary. But this is 11 years, its not that much of a momentus occasion that is recognized as much as a 10 year anniversary. So, that's probably not the reason. Fool. Maybe they'll actually redo Sora's voice in Kingdom Hearts 1. I would agree except, its been confirmed by that trailer for the English version that everyone will have their old voices. Thats what SE did with the Japanese version. It's purely a business strategy. They release it when they believe it would have the highest rate of purchases is a likely cause, or perhaps to close the time gap between this installment and the next one to make the wait not seem so long. Clearly they're testing the patience of the fanbase Nomura: Be patient Yes, Nomura being the dickish troll he is, is going to make me bored the whole summer. DAMN YOU NOMURA SAN!!! But seriously: THIS IS AN HD REMASTER!!! THERE'S BARELY ANYTHING LEFT TO CHANGEREALLY FROM THE JAPANESE VERSION!!! Lets look at all the things theyreally need to do for an English release: Dub the 358/2 Days Movie. (It has been dubbed since January, so they're probably finished by now) Check. Translate all of the Japanese text.(All they need to do is translatethe new attacks and abilties and weapons, and use the NA translation forKH1 and Re:COM for everything else) Check. Resync the mouths. (KHFM originally had the English voices and lipsync, so they could just change the new Japanese Lip Syncs to theoriginal English ones.) Check. Retune the graphics so its in HD. (Already done with the Japanese version). Check. Fix up the controls and add the Triangle button prompt. (Already done with the Japanese version) Check. THEY'VE PRETTY MUCH DONE EVERYTHING THEY NEED TO FOR 1.5 TOHAVE AN ENGLISH RELEASE!! THERE'S NO REAL REASON WHY IT CAN'T COME OUTIN THE SUMMER!!!!
