Dio Brando 5,810 Posted April 29, 2013 At first I hated the movie when I watched it the first time last year (Yeah I couldn't watch it anywhere for years before I discovered youtube) But as the time went on it grew a little bit on me and I began to like it....not as much as other Pokemon movies but at least I liked it much better than Advent Children The movie isn't as bad as some people said,it's okay and a good movie for kids(especially if you've watched as a kid) I think I'll give it something around 6.510 or

Shera Wizard 2,736 Posted April 29, 2013 (edited) this is more than enough. But i found it kinda, off. I mean, they learn so much about OMG NO FIGHTING NO NO but, when in the end, Mewtwo erases their memories. What about all they learnt? But as the first movie in the franchise and going for 1999 movie, that's acceptable enough. And they corrected that a bit in Mewtwo Returns. Overall, i firetrucking loved this movie god dammit and also 9001/10 as per kid Wizard Edited April 29, 2013 by Shera Wizard 1 Dio Brando reacted to this

Xopak 1 Posted April 29, 2013 That one, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, the Entei movie, and 4Ever are my favorites.
OmegaForte 1,674 Posted April 29, 2013 It was good, but I found other Pokemon movies more enjoyable.
Dio Brando 5,810 Posted April 29, 2013 Honestly maybe my first impression was messed up because I watched the movie Pokemon forever....and I HATE Pokemon 4 ever But as the first movie for the franchise....I admit it deserves an 810.....For a movie aimed for kids it's a really good one especially for a movie based on a video game in a time where game-license movies were horrible Also, the reason I began to love the first movie is because I LOVED the Mewtwo's Return special 1 hour episode(movie outside Japan) and when I went back to watch the first movie again I liked it and I felt I can connect the two stories
Ruran 481 Posted April 29, 2013 Imma just leave these here: http://blip.tv/suede/animenia_pokemon01pt1-6051913 http://blip.tv/suede/animenia_pokemonpt2-6052346 *sits back and drinks* What? No point in regurgitating this information when it's already in a much more entertaining video format. Let's just say I agree with all their points and leave it at that. *drinks*
WhiteCrow 55 Posted April 29, 2013 Completely different from the movies nowadays, it is a little silly but regardless of that, it's a huge nostalgia-bomb. I LOVE IT. I could go on forever talking about this movie, but I'll spare you. Also this (;
Hoshiko Hikari 301 Posted April 29, 2013 I saw it in the cinemas with my brother when I was about 9 and I cried so much! Then I got it on video and it kept making me cry for the next 5 years or so whenever I watched it. That moment when Ash sees all the Pokémon suffering and he runs inbetween Mew and Mewtwo's attacks yelling them to stop and gets turned into stone and Pikachu desparately tries to revive him then stares at his blank face and starts crying..... :s......... ........... yeah, I cry pretty easily... Love that film!

Dio Brando 5,810 Posted April 29, 2013 Ok y'know what???? I'm gonna watch it again tommorow Yeah I still prefer Lucario and the mystery of MewThe Entei moviePokemon 2000 more but I think I need to spend a little bit more time with the first movie At least the first movie is much better than the Kyurem movie where Kyurem can transform into BlackWhite Kyurem for no reason without the DNA splicer. Shulk 8,623 Posted April 29, 2013 Not only would I say that it's the best Pokemon movie ever (2000 might barely beat it out on that one, I can't decide), but I can also say it's one of my favorite movies ever. It was the first Pokemon movie I saw, way back around the time it came out on VHS. I have so many memories with that movie. Pokemon always was my favorite form of nostalgia, and the first movie fits that perfectly. The plot was great, the fight scenes were awesome, and, of course, the one scene I'd say everyone remembers the most... One of the most memorable scenes in movie history right there. Now I want to watch it again, but I have school... Curse you school. ;_;
DragonMaster 1,166 Posted April 29, 2013 It is one of my favorites. It had the best message of any of the movies, featured my favorite legendary (Mew), and overall had a pretty solid plot. The only thing I don't likes is the memory erasure, but that still happens with the modern movies (they never mention the movies in the anime). I would say it is tied with Lucario and the Mystery of Mew and Destiny Deoxys for my favorite Pokemon movie.
