NO_HEART_XIII 312 Posted April 28, 2013 I've had this thought since Birth By Sleep, but I want to know what you guys think. Do you think that Yen Sid could have been the one that trained and made Erauqs and Xehanort keyblade masters? I know there isn't really any evidence at all, but if it was anybody in the kingdom hearts universe, I'd say Yen Sid. In BBS (Terra's story) there is a scene titled 'An Audience With Yen Sid' and in this scence Yen Sid Mutters to himself "I had hoped, Xehanort, that your heart would no longer lead you astray" implying that they may have knew each eachother. That scene is really the only evidence I have of any possibility, but what do you think?

Weiss 8,279 Posted April 28, 2013 Could have been. We have no information other than that their master was a keyblade master so it's up to speculation until it's revealed in game or revealed by Nomura.
Hoshiko Hikari 301 Posted April 28, 2013 It's also possible that Yen Sid trained with Eraqus and Xehanort and that the three of them shared a master we haven't met. After all Yen Sid and Xehanort look kind of similar in age and most friendships in KH come in threes e.g. 'Sora, Riku, Kairi' and 'Terra, Aqua, Ven'. 4 Ultimus Grid, Shard the Gentleman, Master Keeper and 1 other reacted to this

If Xehanort was old enough to know his day was coming I doubt any experienced master would still be alive, unless its disney magic but nevermind that. 1 Hoshiko Hikari reacted to this

However, Yen Sid doesn't look like he has aged a day from BBS to DDD, so who really knows. 2 Hoshiko Hikari and Master Keeper reacted to this

His master would either have had to be really old or already dead. Though on a slightly different note is it just me or does King Mickey simply not age at all? In DDD we saw him before he learned how to wield a keyblade (as a musketeer) and he looked exactly the same as he does now. Same with Donald and Goofy. I don't think the normal rules of aging apply in Kingdom Hearts...

Disney probably just doesn't want their characters modified very much, so they can't age. Sora & Riku seem to be aging at the right pace, but they are not Disney characters so it makes since that they could age. Master Keeper 687 Posted April 28, 2013 I'd say that they made a mistake by putting a Disney character as a trainer with both MX and ME, cuz he doesn't age which is why it doesn't fit. 1 PublicLibraryx reacted to this

Huey, Dewey, and Louie were kids in BBS and kids again in KH1 and KH2 because, you know Disney and stuff Oh yeah! I hadn't noticed that! Or if I did I forgot I had. That's quite a big mistake. Though I guess it could be explained by the fact that time flows differently in different worlds.
Caity 3,946 Posted April 28, 2013 I always assumed Yen Sid, MX and Eraqus were their own trio who trained together under a master we just haven't met yet. They seemed to know each other at the beginning of BBS personally (before Terra and Aqua's test)

MINDBLOWN!!! But that makes sense!!!! But then I'm curious.......why would Eraqus use "honorific form" to Yen Sid? And just talk normally to Xehanort? I played the game in Japanese so I noticed these kinds of stuff....... Maybe Eraqus was a lot younger than Yen Sid, and maybe Eraqus was "Ventus" of the group...... and since he's polite like Aqua, he's using honorific form to Yen Sid?? Hmm.....just guessing....... Aqua uses honorific form to like everyone in the series except for her friends and the villiains

If you play as Terra and go back to the Mysterious Tower and talk to Yen Sid, he tells you that he trained with the Keyblade along side of Eraqus and Xehanort. Thought I'd share that little tidbit. 1 Hoshiko Hikari reacted to this

Your theory would make sense though as Eraqus is the only one whose hair isn't grey/white/non-existent. Also maybe Yen Sid became Master before the others or his advanced wisdom and magical ability earn him extra respect or something. This is actually explained in BBS. Ahh! Thank you! That matter's been cleared up then, though we still don't know who their Master was but maybe we'll never know. 1 m.a.g.27 reacted to this

Hoshiko Hikari 301 Posted April 29, 2013 And before Terra leave L.O.D, Eraqus tells him that Yen Sid was an old friend who is Master no more. Ah right! I wonder why he gave up the title of Master? Maybe to focus on wizardry instead?
