A little bit. I guess Pokemon? Like Pokemon X and Y. But they did change up things. Matter of perspective.

If they hired the right people, they could get more amazing ideas started.

While I don't mind a continuation of a good franchise, some game companies need to go back and look at their old favorites too. I'm looking at you, Square Enix. Where's TWEWY2? Maybe even a new Chrono game would be nice... Some new franchises wouldn't be a bad idea, either.

Nintendo does, can't remember the last time they made a new I.P

Well, there was Steel Diver back when 3DS launched. I remember they said they wanted to get people interested into a new IP with that. I don't think that one took off too well, though...

It's hard to explain but, it's true there's a lack of new games with other original ideas.

But there's also sequels who are good games and new games too. I would say it would be great if they would continue their main franchise

while developing others new games (even if in matter of time they probably can't).

Mario and Zelda Games are really awesome and Kingdom Hearts too.

We also have great games like Gravity Rush and plenty of others.

Eh, probably.  While they do keep releasing sequels after sequels, I tend to enjoy them, or at least those I have played or plan to play.  Considering half the world is still in economic downturn I would expect they wouldn't take many risks with completely original ideas when a franchise is so popular.  Hence Halo and COD sequels. Even though they're completely repetitive, they've proven success so they keep making them.

Depends, you know? On the one hand, Rereleases are nice and a good sequel can be excellent (KH1.5 is both old and new after all! That's how to make a HD collection). On the other, new iconic titles are what drive these ships to avoid sinking.

Nintendo are pretty bad with this. Some games like Pokemon still keep things fresh and new (which is up for debate how good or bad that is) while "New Super Mario Bros 23" just gets repetitive and tiresome. Other companies would do well to avoid falling into this trap.

The Playstation hits a nice sweet spot with Naughty Dog and Quantic Dream creating new ideas for the PS3's final days while the PS4 prepares to launch with Knack, inFamous and Killzone kicking off some old and new at release. That's good, not even mentioning Watch_Dogs. Assassin's Creed is just... meh now.

So I think it isn't ridiculous yet. We've got plenty of new on the way, including reboots like the new DMC and Thief's hopefully glorious return that reimagine the old. Best of both worlds really, for now.

Yes, I think publishers nowadays prefer not taking risks, and instead they opt for releasing sequels year after year.  Personally, I think that it's a good thing but a bad thing as well.  Just look at the Call of Duty series.  Constant annual releases have made the franchise stale, and the few changes are barely noticeable, except for Black Ops 2, which I've heard is a significant step up from other Call Of Duty games.  And I see Assassin's Creed going down the same path as well.  Although I'm looking forward to Black Flag, I have to admit that I thought that Assassin's Creed 3 was pretty much it.  With Desmond, we experienced the saga that embroiled him with the Assassin-Templar conflict.  We'll see if Black Flag can avoid the series it's death, because I for one, think that Assassins's Creed shouldn't have a bad reputation.  Why can't publishers take risks?  I mean, have you see the wealth of ideas out there?  There are so many people in this world with excellent ideas that have video game potential, that it could mean successful creations of new IP's.  I say that publishers hire these minds, and let their creativity flow. :)
