TheApprenticeofKingMickey 3,689 Posted April 23, 2013 (edited) I probably worded the question wrong but you get the drift. Anyhoo~ For those of you who don't know, because I'm pretty sure the States doesn't have this kind of school and I'm not sure if other countries have this either, but in Canada, we have something called Outreach school. It's basically a school where you can upgrade, or if you're employed, or pregnant, or you have learning disabilities or are neuroatypical, or you can't handle the stress and routine from normal school or homeschooling isn't for you, you go to an outreach school. It's basically tailored to fit your needs, you can do schoolwork at your own pace, whenever you want, at whatever time of day. And if it wasn't obvious, that's the kind of school I go to. FireRubies1 1,325 Posted April 23, 2013 I go to an ordinary high school and it's great, but that Outreach school sounds amazing x3 And somewhat unrelated I wonder a lot if I have any learning disabilities..... never been 'tested'

Oishii 3,987 Posted April 23, 2013 I'm in a fancy old university where pianists play in the study halls and students are so talented they can walk and be on a laptop at the same time. I've seen it more than once. 1 TheApprenticeofKingMickey reacted to this

Shana09 5,769 Posted April 23, 2013 Your typical average high school filled with 10 million students. It's a great school, which is contradicting it's reputation it holds. Sad I'm going to leave this school. Btw you missed Boarding School, which is where you go to a school and technically live there with the students, teachers, staff, etc.

We do have schools like that, though to not that scale, sadly. I went to an alternative high school, where the class sizes were smaller, the homework was less stressful, and you could have more of a one-on-one interaction with your teachers. Without that school being in my life, I would not have graduated, hands down. the experience with the great teachers I had was amazing, and sadly, the school is closed now, which depresses me cause there are a lot of kids that still need that support in their life. 1 TheApprenticeofKingMickey reacted to this
Wisdomform 221 Posted April 23, 2013 I went to this old high school in like the worst neighborhood. I wanna say it was like the "hood" over there. I remember hearing on the news that this girl got shot right in front of the school, so I was always nervous to go to school. I'm glad that i'm not in high school anymore, it was a bad experience for me.
Captain Arrowguns 466 Posted April 23, 2013 Home school, and I must say. You all are lucky jack asses. Being home school sucks balls big time. I'm home schooled too, and I disagree. I've been in public school as well, and I think home school is much better. You don't have to deal with all of the jerks, and your curriculum can be custom fitted just for you. As for homeschoolers being antisocial, that's doesn’t have to be the case. There are home school groups you can become a part of that can provide field trips and other fun activities to do. Not only that, but while public schoolers are encouraged to befriend primarily others of their own grade, in home school you're encouraged to befriend people of all ages. 2 Think Pink and A mystery reacted to this
