Was Zexion in on Xehanort's True Plan? (Spoilers)

Recommended Posts

Alright, so as we all know now, the Organization was actually formed so that Xehanort could hook up his heart to thirteen different people and use them as "vessels." What we know is that only very few members truly knew this goal from the start, and they would be Xemnas, Xigbar, Saix. However, after reviewing this cutscene from KH2 Final Mix, I've discovered that Zexion may have very well been in on the true plan. Just watch this cutscene (at around 6:59). Closely read what they both say to each other.

Did you notice that? Zexion tells Xigbar he wants to concentrate on his assignment, and then he tells Xigbar that he should focus on his true mission and gather more members. By the sound of it, it seems that Zexion really did know the true goal of the Organization, and was aware that they were looking for more vessels. What do you guys think?

Cool. I've seen that scene before but never thought about it that much. Good Theory

Also if you notice at about 7:40, Xigbar blatantly refers to the fact that Xemnas is Terranort's nobody to him, and that his inner Terra is looking for Ven. If Zexion didn't know the true goal, then there's no way that he would simply put it out there like that. It makes me think that Zexion may be one of the 13 vessels...

I doubt it, because the 13 xehanort plan was probably not in the works until later into BBS' development.

Nomura likes to change the Xehanort backstory on the fly, so it's unlikely to have been conceived as early as KH2FM.

I don't know man, he had BBS planned about Braig fighting Aqua, Ven, and Terra four years before the game was even released. It wouldn't be too far-fetched to say that about this.

There's even a reference to the Xehanorts true plan in 358/2 Days when Xemnas is talking to Xigbar and Saix, but it now only makes sense with the release of 3D

Well, first of all, we don't really know if "Braig fighting Ven, Terra, Aqua" was ever specifically planned. There are various possibilities that KH2 leaves open.

It might be that Braig had met past key blade warriors or had knowledge about them, but the info in KH2 is deliberately vague. In fact, Braig doesn't really have any interaction with Ven in BBS, save for a brief look at him in the climax.

Notice that in the video he describes how "Warriors with Blades of Keys appeared and fought great battles." From the context, it would seem that past keybladers had made a notable impact on the denizens of Radiant Garden and all the Apprentices were aware of them. But in BBS, very few Apprentices seem to be aware of the Keybladers' activities and the 'great battles' they fought. It also implies that Aqua is in the room of awakening at Castle Oblivion, when BBS shows it to be Ven.

Furthermore, Nomura, as far as I recall, didn't have the BBS characters actually designed during KH2's development, which is why they were presented wearing armor in the original secret movie - to hide their appearances.

In addition, the entire Xeha-clone plot, so intrinsic to the '13 Darkness' idea, is unlikely to have been considered in the course of KH2, because Nomura hadn't written the Nobodies as capable of growing new hearts or being pure beings of darkness - the plot mechanics clearly work only under the original information we knew about the Organization and its motives, including the idea that they were supposed to be neither of darkness or light and that they sought KH to become whole. (Saix even begs KH to give him back his heart before he dies and his ears could be a product of his werewolf-esque nature.)

And, if in fact, Xigbar was aware of Xemnort's true plan to convert everyone into Xeha-clones, as he is/was one himself via 3D, then why does he need to eavesdrop on Xemnas in the first place?

Plus, the idea that yellow eyes signified the Xeha-clone clearly wasn't in play until BBS - even in the KH2FM secret movie, Terra gains yellow eyes before Xehanort takes him over, following the original concept of embracing darkness.

I don't believe that cut scene gives enough evidence... wasn't the purpose of that time to get rid of the traitors within the organization??? I believe Zexion was just trying to do his duty to get rid of them. Well, maybe not because Axel was used as a secret assassin... Hmmmm... what was their goal at that time? Probably continue a way to get hearts of their own. LOL sad thing is they actually did have hearts...

I thought they are where talking about Terra and Ven.

right, they were talking about Xemnas and how Terra was having an influence on him especially if he was in the Room of Sleep talking to Aqua's armor! And the reason why they wanted to go to Castle Oblivion is because they wanted to seek out the Room of Awakening which holds the sleeping Ven.

why would be one of the 13? Zexion doesn't exist anymore, Ienzo does.

I doubt he actually knew what was going on but he might of had his specious. Plus to know what was going on he'd have to have been Norted which we know he wasn't.

why would they purposely want to be vessels though?

Two reasons.

1). They wanted more power and could obtain that by siding with Xehanort

OR

2.) They were tricked like the original Organization into believing they had no hearts and thought that if they allowed Xehanort to turn them into vessels, then could obtain Kingdom Hearts and regain their hearts.
