Koko 3,944 Posted April 15, 2013 I think there's been 3 explosions (1 controlled) and another detected device. It's officially a bombing. The fire at the JFK library is being said to be unrelated but they're investigating. Boston is in high alert and if you live around there it's best to stay indoors and DON'T USE CELL PHONES and DON'T GO TO THE HOSPITALS UNLESS YOU'RE INJURED. Cell phones can set off another device and keeps investigators from locating other devices. As well, going to the hospital to donate blood like many are encouraging will only keep people who are injured from getting treatment. Hospitals have said they have enough blood, but will need donations to restock later. 2 4Everbee and rikunobodyxiii reacted to this

I guess it's another terrorist attack in a city, this is just too damn awful. I really hope it's not another (or the same) major terrorist group and its more local so we don't have to go through another terrorist war. Even then targeting people, especially the marathon runners who have been training their entire lives in their towns just to prove they are fast enough and for fun just to be either killed or injured, is just awful. Kaiso 2,764 Posted April 16, 2013 Using your phone wouldn't set a bomb off....they would be synced to a specific phone number What they're saying is that the bandwidth is making it really difficult for cell phone usage, it's better to text a person. This is really sad, and it just pisses me off that people would do this. I think it's amazing though the number of people that rushed to help all of the people in need though. My heart goes out to all those involved. : ( From what I understand it was most likely two explosions went off, a third device was found and taken care of, then possibly 5 more were found???? News sources are hard to rely on with all of the mixed numbers.... 2 Ben G and Koko reacted to this

Noobles 301 Posted April 16, 2013 This day is probably the worst day for Boston. Truly tragic. I'd never knew a city I'd visit last summer could be turned upside down in a blink of an eye. It's such a great city. So beautiful and calm. But a few incidents could turn a bright and flourishing city into it's darkest hours. So much as happened since the two bombs that have exploded at the Finish line. They found one more undetonated bomb and defused it. The JFK Library was lit on fire with some damage. All cities on high alert especially New York in which they deployed a few helicopters to circle/patrol the under construction Freedom Tower. All major cities in US and globally are on high alert. They even closed down Pennsylvania Blvd which is the road in front of the White House to tourist. It's slightly awkward because there's so much speculation too. I don't even know what are facts now and what is a speculation or assumption. Like some are saying the bomb are a cover up for a Boston Bomb Training. Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow for the full news/update. At least the majority of the media hasn't jumped into any conclusions yet. Hope they find who did it and get to the bottom of this tragic mess. Need to find my rainy day jar now. Pray for Boston.
Koko 3,944 Posted April 16, 2013 Don't know how many people here are from Boston, but another warning is that if you live in Boston and you're a Person of Color (especially if you're Muslim!), BE VERY CAREFUL. People are already making death threats and being racist shits and it's probably best to avoid the streets since people are being racist ass hats and already pinning it on Muslims. Hey even in general, wherever you are, be very careful because people all over are blaming it on Muslim terrorists (even though it could've easily been anyone) so just be safe! 2 TheApprenticeofKingMickey and 4Everbee reacted to this
