"You're a freakin' human with what basically is a disease!" Kerri called back. "Stop thinking that you have to just follow the wolf. We are not a pack. We are a bunch of random strangers drawn together by circumstances. We could be real great friends, given time, but that requires trust. And an ability to lead. Not just who can growl loudest."

She rolled herself back into the room. She looked like she was trying hold something in.

"But your offer to help is nice. If I need it, I'll ask."

"Ah she's one of those people, eh?"

Kai just shrugged it off "Whatever you say"

Amelia lay on the floor until suddenly she heard footsteps all around her. 

Who could be out in the forest? Or is it animals? She thought as she stood up stuffed her pockets with her phone and the other stuff she pilled out. She began to run in the direction of the house until she ran into someone.

"Who are you?!" They said pointing a gun towards her. She gulped and stepped back.

AMELIA! Answer him! Answer him! She thought to herself. But she was so chocked up, she couldnt speak. 

"calm down i wont hurt you, now look at me and tell me who you are." the man said stepping forward.

Amelia didnt raise her head, but only her eyes, which where still bright yellow from the argument with Kai earlier. 

"You're one of them huh? You know who we are kid?" 

Kid?1 You look about my age...

"Hunters, that's it." Amelia looked at the boy with wide eyes, she opened her mouth but nothing came out. 

"Go, leave before the other hunters find you i wont kill you." Amelia nodded and began to run out of the woods. But suddenly she felt a piercing pain and a loud bang. She looked to her side and seen she had been shot, she breathed heavily. Heal, please, heal!! She ran far and she stopped once she got to the park, she saw she was healing but it was going much slower than it was meant to. 

"Probably didnt eat enough.." She said to herself.

Jason looked at everyone.   'I'm sorry.  I didn't mean to cause such a ruckus.  I got caught up in the moment.  I feel a need to lead, but thats only if you want me.  I just feel a tie to you guys since we're all in the same situation.  But I understand what you're saying Kerri, we are still human.  But we shouldn't dismiss what is happening to us.  We aren't completely human.  Also Kia, thanks for the nomination and for wanting to share your wisdom.  But I'm not trying to start a fight.  I was hoping this would be more civil" Jason said apologetically.  "I'm sincerely sorry for the feelings I may have hurt and the people I've pissed off.   I just really want to make sure ya'll are all safe." Jason said as he shot straight up hearing a gunshot from behind the house.  

 

Jason's eyes immediately turned brighter as he slowly broke his spine becoming a wolf in front of the others.  Jason then started running outside to where he heard the shot.  He saw the hunters following a blood trail.  Luckily they didn't see him.  Jason then followed the blood faster with his sense of smell and found her.  Jason then picked her up bridal style and ran as far as he could making sure to catch her blood that was dropping out.  He didn't want them to follow.  The ended up into this abandoned barn.   Jason then slowly shifted back to his human form when he saw her pain from the wound.  Jason really felt like telling her off saying how his size and ego.  That he just had a natural care for the others but he was more worried about her wound.  He looked around, he then looked under her and saw that the bullet went straight through.  "I'm going to get you something to eat.  You need your metabolism." Jason said stating the obvious.   "If you hear anyone come back and you want my help call me.  Otherwise I'm going to get you some food.  A bunch of carbs" He said typing his number in her phone.  Jason then walked out of the barn and sprinted into town.

"Come on." Kerri ordered Kai as she rolled out after the transformed Jason.

She pushed as fast as she could, but was infuriated by her lack of speed. What was Jason running...

She halted, every muscle tensing. She had always been sensitive to smells, but now a whole world of it exploded in her brain. On the foremost of these new smells was blood. She knew the owner, but didn't know how she did. Jason's? Amelia?

Suddenly seized with fear for her new friends, she let instinct take over. She lept from her chair and took several stumbling steps before falling. She looked in utter shock at here legs. They had moved! Not only that, they held her up! Her normally gaunt useless legs now had a littl e bit of muscle to them. Still far from normal, they could work.

Kerri blinked back a few tears of joy and concentrated on the smell. She got back up and started a wobbly, stumbling run towards the smell.

Amelia held her side and stood up.

"What the hell are hunters doing here and why?!" She yelled with her fangs coming out.

her wound was healing, it didnt hurt as much as it did, but she could walk. She saw Jason had put in his number she called it.

"Jason come back! we can deal with this at the house, they'll hunt you down too. Come back before you get hurt!!"

Jason got the call "okay I'll meet you there! Be careful" Jason said hanging up. He was in line at McDonald's when he decided to leave. He saw these men come in and it looked like they were searching for someone. They then pulled out this little silver whistle. They gave it a blow and Jason started shaking from the sound. He dropped to his knees in pain trying to block out the sound. They stopped and surrounded Jason.

 

Jason then jumped up and pushed passed them. Jason ran outside. Lucky for him his hood was on so they didn't recognize him. Jason then saw they were back outside with guns pointed at him. Jason began sprinting down the alley escaping them

Amelia stuffed the phone in her pocket. She struggled to keep herself up but she shook it off and kept walking. She was close when the pain pierced her side again. She winced and continued to walk. She opened the door to the house and closed it behind her. She layed down on the couch and looked at the ceiling. Her wound was healing, her blood staining the couch.

Kerri kept stumbling on, trying to figure out whose blood she was smelling.

"I'd be going just as fast in my chair." she thought sourly.

She broke through some bushes and found the scent going in another direction. With a direct path, Kerri was better able to determine the scent's owner.

"Amelia." she said, confirming it for herself.

She went towards where she thought the smell had been coming from, but it smelled...old. She turned and followed the other path, leading back to the house.

Kerri stumbled in and saw Amelia on the couch.

"Would have been faster to wait." she grumbled under her breath.

She made it to the kitchen to look for something to eat.

"What did that?" she asked Amelia.

She couldn't find any meat, and the book had said that was the best think to use to help heal. She was about to start swearing till she found a Jerky bag in a cabinet. It had only a little on the bottom, but it was better than nothing. She hobbled to Amelia and handed her the bag.

"I'll get something else when your done."

"i dont want it." she said sticking her hand out and turning the other way.

"They were hunters, a boy warned me to run and outta nowhere they got me." she said sighing.

"Well, you gotta eat something." Kerri shot back.

She paused a moment.

"Do you see Jason? Was he found by these 'hunters?'"

"We cant always rely on food when we get injured Kerri." She said sitting up.

"i dont know, he said we'd meet up here. he'll be fine." She said with a worried look.

"Fine." Kerri said.

She hobbled over to a window and peeked out. Her legs started cramping so she dragged over a chair to continue watching out the window.

"Any idea if the hunters used something that is suppose to hurt werewolves? Like silver? The book hadn't said anything about it in the little I read."

Amelia looked at Kerri. Her eyes widened. Maybe that was why Amelia wasn't healing properly, but she didn't say anything about it, and she hoped Kerri didn't either. She didn't want to have a descussion if she was going to die or not. She gulped.

"Then we would have to be more careful, if their hunting werewolves they probably would." Amelia went to the back room and wrapped her wound up. "It should heal soon." she said with a grin.

"Maybe, if we did stay in a pack, it would be better." she suggusted. "We could protect eachother, but the problem is we can't decide on a pack leader."

Kerri inwardly sighed. Amelia might hurt with something that might kill her. People kept talking about the group as a 'pack.' They might be right, but Kerri didn't like how fast they were jumping to that conclusion.

Kerri tried to move her legs around to help with her legs cramps, but it wasn't helping much.

"How do you deal with these?" she thought.

"Well, considering what I know about how pack animals leadership works, I'm voting for a more human method for picking a leader." she replied to Amelia. "The problem stems from that it seems we got a bunch of forceful personalities who all think they will do the best job."

Kerri grunted.

"Myself included. But I'm getting out of the rat race because a three way power struggle is still better than a four way. I'm not too wild about the idea of Kai in charge, as I haven't seen him do anything that suggests he's committed to the group. That still leaves you and Jason."

She chuckled without much humor in it.

"Unless someone else want's in on the Alpha position."

Amelia suddenly remembered her fight with Kai.

"Actually that just leaves Jason. i'm not going to be apart of this." She said feeling sudden pain.

"Is this how it feels, to slowly die? Or am i imagining it?" She thought to herself.

"So i guess Jason's your new pack leader." She said to Kerri. "i dont like Kai, i somewhat dont really believe anything he says, like he's apart of something my dads doing." She said as she winced silently.

"Well, that's nice example." Kerri commented in a brittle tone. "Say we need a pack and then say you aren't joining up."

Her toned turned a little more snappy.

"If we ate gonna stick together, we all have to stick together. Sorry, sister, but you aren't bowing out. If you are worried about you wound, calm down. Whatever works on werewolves shouldn't keep you from healing like a normal human. Speaking of which."

She stood up a little shakily.

"Were is your medicine cabinet?"

"we dont have one, Tichelli never cared about that stuff." she said ignoring the whole pack thing. Her wound burned.

"Yeah, normal people heal, whichever kind of bullet it is, as long as its out of their bodies. But us? Yeah, any bullet, except the one thats in my body." Amelia knew it had to be a silver bullet. She had read it in the book her dad gave her. Even though its silver, it still tried to heal, but omly caused more pain.

"i'll do something about it later, i dont feel like in dying." she said as she lay on the couch.

Kerri set her jaw and stood there for a few more seconds before sitting back down.

"Don't leave it to long." she said. "It's up in the air whether you can get an infection or not from the bullet."

"I know." Amelia said sitting up. "I was planning to go into medical crap before all of this happened. I know what to do." She said sighing.

"Now that the hunters are out its best if we stick togethor.

Kira slowly opened up the door to Tichelli's house and looked inside to see Kerri and Amelia

"Hey peoples!" she waved then stepped inside sitting down in a chair,

she smelled the sent of blood near her "Who's bleeding now?" Kira crossed her arms waiting for an answer

Kerri nodded to Amelia.

"Just a flesh wound." she said. "Appearently, there are people out there that don't like us."

Kerri drew in a deep breath and let it out slowly, with a hint of reluctance.

"It might be best for us to stick together in case they come back."

"Oh" Kira nodded at Kerri's thought "Yea that is a good idea and you mean when the hunters come back right?"

She turned to the kitchen "Do you have anything to eat im starving again"

Kira opened up the fridge and digged to find some meat but couldn't "Are you for real? Man!"

She closed the door to the fridge and sat back into her chair, the sound of human flesh sounded good right about now.

Jason was away from the hunters as far as he could tell.  He then heard this chuckle.  It was this younger boy holding this pure silver pistol.  "Just stay down mutt.  Be like your friend I shot.  You can even turn your back to me like she did."  The boy said.

 

Jason began getting angry and his eyes reflected the moonlight in his wolf bright blue.  "Now stay down mut."  The boy said pointing the gun at him.  Jason was tired of having guns pointed at him so he lost it.  Jason let a howl and his body quickly snapped changing him into his wolf form.  Jason's claws grew out and he dodged a bullet that almost hit him in the head.  Jason growled as he heard more voices behind him.  The other hunters were showing up."This will be my sons first kill, don't interfere  One of the voices said.  The boy then fired again and Jason jumped out of the way and charged down the alley jumping over dumpsters.  He got on this last dumpster that was close to the boy and he lept off slicing the boys arms with his claws.  Making him drop the gun along with a few fingers falling off too.   Jason then climbed on top of the boy and put his claws against his throat.  "Don't attack my pack again" Jason growled.Jason then jumped off and ran off.  He was un wolfed when he came to the house.  His clothes were covered in blood from the boys hand he sliced off.  Jason was also exhausted.  Jason walked into the house and saw the other members of the group.  "Tomorrow first thing after school we are training.  We are going to practice you new ones getting your physical disabilities perfect and we are training.  We can not lose time because we could be attacked at anytime by these hunters.   I'm going to do what all I can to keep you safe.  now someone go run to the store and fix Amelia up so she'll be ready tomorrow" Jason ordered feeling like a leader but more worried for his pack and this threat.

Amelia sighed. "Im fine, i'll be in my room." She said getting up and walking over to her room and closing and locking the door behind her.

She looked at her phone, 1 missed call- Dad.

She picked up her phone and called him back.

"Amelia, hows everything going?"

"How's everything going? Pretty swell other than i have a silver bullet in my tissue,everything's good."

"Who shot you?!"

"Some hunter kid."

"Amelia, i'll call you back in a minute and tell you what to do to get the bullet out. i love you."

The call was over she sighed and layed on her bed.
