AaySquare 445 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) A new Batman game called Batman: Arkham Origins has been officially announced and is going to release Fall 2013 (October 25) for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC. This time Warner Bros Montreal is developing the game and not Rocksteady Studios but not to worry because..."WB Montreal has full access to Rocksteady's custom modified Unreal engine to capture the look and feel of the Arkhamverse."http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/04/09/may-cover-revealed-batman-arkham-origins.aspxThere's also a handheld spin-off called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for PS Vita and 3DS. It's a 2.5-D Metroid-style game developed by Armature Studios.http://kotaku.com/batman-arkham-origins-is-coming-this-fall-471657142?utm_campaign=Socialflow_Kotaku_Facebook&utm_source=Kotaku_Facebook&utm_medium=Socialflow Box Art Update: Kevin Conroy will NOT be voicing Batman. It will be Roger Craig Smith, who has previously played Ezio from Assassins's Creed, Chris Redfield from Resident Evil and Sonic the Hedgedog. Troy Baker will be the voice actor for Joker. http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/20/batman-arkham-origins-stars-roger-craig-smith-as-batman-troy-b/ Some images Arkham Origins: Official Full Trailer Arkham Origins: Multiplayer Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYR9plVWNsY Arkham Origins: E3 Gameplay Reveal Trailer Arkham Origins: E3 Gameplay demo Arkham Origins Blackgate: E3 Gameplay demo Edited January 22, 2014 by AaySquare 3 Shazzam, Geralt and Hei reacted to this

Columned-Munny 274 Posted April 9, 2013 The only thing I'm apprehensive about is the lack of Rocksteady, though in the video Gameinformer made the developers said first thing that they realize they've been handed a series with excellent pedigree. Hopefully they'll live up to it. In other news, Deathstroke! 1 AaySquare reacted to this

RoxSox 3,593 Posted April 9, 2013 I notice that it appears to take place in Gotham. The Arkham part of the title might just be there so they can maintain the pedigree or something.

Cool it's Interesting to see that this time it's going to be in Gotham. But if it's Gotham wouldn't it be better if they would have called it Gotham Origins because there is not going to any Arkham. Or probably there will be some parts in the game you will be in Arkham.

Deadshot 666 Posted April 9, 2013 Now, i think new studio will make good game, the template for Arkham games are set, their probably just going to add minor things to it and new story. It seems like it could be cool seeing younger batman could be interesting. I'm curious to who's writing the game as well. All and all I'm not that excited for it but seeing a trailer of game would be nice.

Ben G 166 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) New Story ofcourse but also i'm wondering since its a prequel, I don't understand who will be the major enemies of Batman this time in this game..Here's what we know....Source: Arkhamverse.comWhilst Rocksteady’s role in Batman’s future remains under wraps for now, we strongly suspect that they are cooking up the much anticipated sequel to Arkham City.See the bullet-point reveals here:Story- Takes place on Christmas Eve– Years before the previous two games– Mob boss Black Mask will give a fortune for Batman’s head– Top assassins and supervillains from the DC Comics universe are out to get Batman– Cops on the take from the mob join the manhunt as well– Batman needs to outsmart his enemies, find out why Black Mask wants him dead, and prove to what good cops that he’s on their sideGeneral- Porting Arkham City to Wii U let the team get familiar with Unreal 3– Doing a prequel lets the team carve a unique territory if Rocksteady were to move the Arkham timeline ahead down the road– Rocksteady’s project is tightly under wraps– Younger Batman also “gives us the opportunity to refresh things a bit”- Combat system still in place– Will have “new layers, new opportunities, and new tactics”- New enemy types– Batman not as finely honed as in the previous games– Won’t control the Batwing directly– Batwing will figure into story sequences and acts as a universe-appropriate form of fast travel– Has the traditional predator mode in which players swing from perch to perch, glide kick, string guys upside-down, etc.– New remote claw that is like the grappler in Just Cause 2– Batman targets two objects and fires out a claw– This hooks into the first object and launches another claw and rope to the second object– Can then pull the two objects together– Use this to knock enemies together, slam heavy objects into foes, string objects or people under a perch– Can string up an explosive barrel under a perch, lure enemies with a sonic batarang, then cut the rope with a normal batarang, dropping the explosive on their heads– Team knows Black Mask isn’t the most popular villain– Old Gotham is only half of the game world– Another new entire is across the bridge called New Gotham– New Gotham is classier and has much taller skyscrapers– New zone doubles the size of the game world– Players can dismantle the hacked tower network– Towers emit a jamming signal that prevents the Batwing from flying into the area, meaning no fast travel– It also halts Batman’s sensors from placing points of interest on the map– Taking down the towers are varied and require all of Batman’s navigation, puzzle solving, and combat skills– Some can be taken down quickly, others must be returned to later with an upgrade– “Crime in Progress”: ex – saving some cops from a group of thugs, rescuing a snitch from being tossed off a roof– Activities give Batman a chance for experience point bonuses– Completing side quests also contributes to the GCPD’s understanding and appreciation of Batman– They will begin to know Batman and which side he stands on based on how much you take on the optional missions– Most Wanted system gives players a chance to go after villains outside of the core storyline– These optional side missions can be tackled when you discover them– Many optional missions offer upgrades– Batman’s butler Alfred may notice that he had a tough time in that situation and give him a new gadget– Dark Knight system is slightly more behind the scenes, though it’s still important– Dark Knight system provides a lengthy string of tasks that slowly goes up in difficulty as the game progresses– The team wants to avoid boring tutorials while still training players to be masters of predator and combat systems– Complete a certain number of counters or silent takedowns to receive rewards or a specific upgrade– Dark Knight system doesn’t replace challenge mode– Team wants to make challenges more meaningfulGame demo- Takes place about an hour into the game– Batman is perched above Jezebel plaza– Black Mask’s assassins have stirred up the local thugs– No towering walls keeping villains in check and many citizens call Arkham City home since there isn’t a prison– Amusement Mile hasn’t been flooded– Batman is looking to find out why Black Mask is trying to kill him– Batman decides to go to the party to track down Penguin, who hears about everything– Eventually, Penguin gives some intel on a murder at Lacey Towers– Claw grips Batman’s ankle and drags him out of the room before he can finish his questioning– Batman reaches for the door, but his arm is stomped by a mysterious figure– Batman ends up suspended upside-down from the rafters– Deathstroke circles Batman with a drawn sword– Batman blocks and disarms Deathstroke, using the sword to cut himself free– Thanks to Penguin’s tip, Batman goes to Lacey Towers– The cops say it’s a double homicide– One victim is supposedly Black Mask– Inside the apartment, Batman sees Black Mask’s girlfriend strung up on a chandelier– Black Mask’s assumed body is laying face up across the room– Batman goes into first-person detective vision to examine the situationAlso release date is October 25th Edited April 9, 2013 by Ben Guinan 1 AaySquare reacted to this

Hei 3,233 Posted April 13, 2013 New video, no gameplay but I think there are a few concept artworks in it Actually I still freakin love Joker as a bad guy in both Batman Arkham Asylum and City but ofcourse this time around it has to be someone else and I am looking forward to that! Joker (and Mark Hamill of course) are fantastic, but a new villain is just what this series needs 1 Geralt reacted to this

Weiss 8,279 Posted April 23, 2013 Update: Warner Bros. Montreal could be including a multiplayer mode in Batman: Arkham Origins, according to Kotaku sources. The publication says that in one multiplayer mode you will assume the role as a member of Joker or Bane’s gang and attempt to take down Batman and Robin. The villains which will feature in the multiplayer component include Killer Croc, Deadshot, Firefly, Black Mask, Deathstroke, and some kind of Electroman character. Warner Bros. Montreal has yet to confirm whether the game will include multiplayer. 1 AaySquare reacted to this
rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted April 23, 2013 While I am all for multiplayer options, I'm wondering how they would make that work out. Especially if you have the same combat system like in Asylem and City.
Hei 3,233 Posted April 24, 2013 What is with every developer shoving multiplayer into game? Co-Op wouldn't be too bad, but still
