Weiss 8,279 Posted April 3, 2013 Disney are shutting down their LucasArts games publishing subsidiary, according to a Game Informer report. A LucasArts representative informed the website: “After evaluating our position in the games market, we’ve decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company’s risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. As a result of this change, we’ve had layoffs across the organization. We're probably going to see more lay-offs in other industries if this doesn't get any better. It's not like companies want to downsize but they will if it means saving it from going completely under. Current projects like the upcoming Star wars games, 1313 and first assualt, have been cancelled. Disney is to be said to still use the name to license games, but the studio is no more. To tell you the truth, I hate it Disney has done this. I was looking forward to 1313.
