I was searching for things about KH3, and came upon this.:

 

 

 

 

There are three games that Square-Enix has been asked about a lot (and three games I’d buy day one) and a rep on behalf of Square-Enix took the time to answer a few of those questions, while remaining anonymous.

 

When asked about whether KH3 will be made, the rep has the following to say:

 

“Kingdom Hearts III will happen,” said an anonymous Square Enix developer. “It may be several years from now, but it’s going to happen. Once we finish Versus XIII and rest from that, we will start on Kingdom Hearts III.”

 

KH3 will come after Versus XIII which has already been in the works since E3 from 06. Man that sucks to hear as a fan, but a 10 year wait might be worth it. When asked about the status of Final Fantasy Versus XII, he replied as such:

 

“It’s definitely coming, not to worry,” said a member of the testing team, “I get e-mails about it every now and then that definitely tells me it’s coming to America. It might be a few years, but it’ll be worth the wait.”

 

Now in terms of a Final Fantasy 7 remake, the rep wouldn’t give a straight forward answer but he did have the following to say on his personal opinion of the game being made:

 

“I’m on the fence about it,” said a developer who wanted to keep a low profile. “I’d love to see it, but at the same time I wouldn’t. It wouldn’t be the same, and wouldn’t have the same magic. It’d have voices, and what about the cross dressing part? And what about Aerith’s death? Would we see that in full next-gen graphics? I don’t think I could handle that.”

 

“I honestly don’t believe that people truly understand Final Fantasy VII. I think if they went back and played it today, they wouldn’t appreciate it nearly as much as they did before,” said another dev. “That might not be the case for all Final Fantasy VII fans, but I think a lot of people need to let it go and accept it for what it is.”

 

Gotta thank the good people over at 2D-X.com for the interview. At least we know that Versus XIII will come out eventually and KH3 will follow it. That FF7 remake might just be a pipe dream though.

What a big bummer, what do you think? Should we take this with a grain of salt? Because, I don't trust it.

honestly i have to agree with the worker about final fantasy seven. i palyed it when i was little and again recently and i gotta tell you i dont think it would mean near as much if they turned it into a beautiful linear cluster of madness. i prefer the dorky 16-bit graphics and the voiceless cloud. also with the current perception of cloud being scewed to make him seem cold and emo when he was just quiet and kinda dorky i dont think alot of the fans who are so yearning for the remake would like it very much at all. also crossdressing cloud would look really weird in 3-d....
