Mickey is the most powerful Keyblade wielder in the series (Who's actually 'alive' since it's arguable that Terra, Aqua, Ventus, Eraqus and Xehanort are more powerful)

Roxas had a hard time fighting Riku, Mickey is much more powerful than Riku.

Everyone is voting for Roxas because he's their favourite character. Or their drastically underestimating Mickey.
