Tails 6,692 Posted March 18, 2013 In the original movie, the only reason why Maleficent wanted to kill Princess Aurora was because she didn't get invited to a party. I just find it to be hilarious in KH because she had captured the PoH, and nearly plunged all the worlds into darkness all because she didn't get invited to a party lol. Poor Malefy 6 Bearanort, OthersiderME, Terranort9406 and 3 others reacted to this
OthersiderME 614 Posted March 18, 2013 apparently parties are important to her.
Weiss 8,279 Posted March 18, 2013 Maybe she has some tragic emotional backstory that makes her character one of the most relatable ones in Disney history.... nah, missing a party is serious business.

lux 13 Posted March 18, 2013 I wasn't invited to a few parties on my life too... So yep, time to plunge all the worlds into darkness because of that
Oishii 3,987 Posted March 18, 2013 That better have been the best freaking party in all the worlds...
Dave 5,715 Posted March 19, 2013 It's not really the party that matters to her: it's the snub. Malificent believes that she is the best thing in the world, and that all should either love or fear her (preferably both). To not invite her to a large social gathering, such as the unveiling of the princess, is to indicate that she can be overlooked, and for Maleficient, that line of thought is inexcusable and unforgivable. Thus, she threatens to kill Aurora to make a firm statement that she is the first person that everyone should be focused on before they do anything, and secures power over them. RoxSox 3,593 Posted March 19, 2013 Do we have any evidence that the same is true for the KH Maleficent? Aerith died in the original Final Fantasy 7, but she sure is alive and kickin' in KH... Did I miss the part in the original Lion King where Scar turned into a heartless and had to be defeated by Sora? The worlds are different. The characters have a very very different continuity... What is clear is that something happened with Zack, not Aerith. But that's beside the point...

Probably. They're making a movie that tells Maleficent's backstory.
