Reyn 1,755 Posted March 17, 2013 I compared the voices from Kingdom Hearts 1(Original Japanese release, not final mix) to KH 1.5 and ive confirmed that they are exactly the same, and no re recording has been done, here are videos to compare: Skip to 0:55 for this^ Skip to 18:40 for this^ So since they didn't bother to record anything new for this game, save for the 358/2 days movie, who's to say that they'll record new voices for the international release of KHFM and Re:Chain. Im pretty sure Sqaure is keeping the old voices when the release it to US, and im glad about that. 2 Grotesquery and Ben G reacted to this

Vortex_Nite 118 Posted March 17, 2013 so your telling me Hailey Joel Osment is not voicing sora in 1.5 internationally ? (his current voice, not his younger one)
Javelin434 3,164 Posted March 17, 2013 Yay! I get to fall in love with kairi's voice all over again... in HD!!!!
Reyn 1,755 Posted March 17, 2013 so your telling me Hailey Joel Osment is not voicing sora in 1.5 internationally ? (his current voice, not his younger one) Not for 358/2 days, no. But all the voices from KH 1 and Re:Chain will stay the same. Yay! I get to fall in love with kairi's voice all over again... in HD!!!! Good for you. im glad too . I dont want them to record that. (Nostalgia reasons) i agree, i liked Sora's old voice in KH 1.
Firaga 5,947 Posted March 17, 2013 Damn it! ... woman voice in 1, and teen voice in Re:COM... it's inconsistent!!! D:
Sora96 17,256 Posted March 17, 2013 Square Enix North America confirmed shortly after the English version's announcement that they were not recording any dialogue for Kingdom Hearts Final Mix or Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. They're enhancing the quality though. Also the cutscenes added in the Final Mix reissue have not had any voice acting recorded either.
Reyn 1,755 Posted March 17, 2013 Ok, so the scenes with no dialogue in FM stay with no dialogue. Oh well. ^_^
ssceles 134 Posted March 17, 2013 Soooo.... old recordings of Billy Zane instead of re-recording Richard Epcar? I approve. But I wouldn't blame them if they did want to re-record. I'm still so attached to Xehanort's Heartless's old voice, though... but I would have supported their need for consistency. I'm indifferent at this point, but slightly happier that they're keeping the old recordings. My bias is showing. ~ 2 Reyn and Grotesquery reacted to this
AaySquare 445 Posted March 17, 2013 So is it only because of the days cutscenes the international release date is fall 2013? They wouldn't be working on HD quality since its already done and the game is out in Japan. 1 Reyn reacted to this
satria625reuben@yahoo.com 14 Posted March 17, 2013 My guess is that Sora's voice will be maintained from the original KH for 1.5, while some FM scenes with Riku would be either voiced or silent with subtitles. I also think Ansem & some FF stars would do some re-recording for 1.5. 1 Reyn reacted to this
Mila 37 Posted March 17, 2013 have you compared the Japanese voices ? I did that with Roxas/Ventus (both have the same voice actor Kouki Uchiyama) and if you listen to Ventus in BbS and Roxas in the new Days cutscenes.... Ventus sounds more like a teenager and Roxas sounds more like an adult in KH2 Roxas' voice was still a kid and now it's a adult voice..... so even the Japanese voices have changed a lot skip to 5:

I really liked Sora's voice in the first Kingdom Hearts, I personally think its the best. But it really is inconsistent, as much as I like his KH1 voice I think if it was up to me I would change it so it would flow better!

Naxhas 32 Posted March 19, 2013 I'm glad they're keeping the voices the same, but what really stood out to me from that comparison is how much better the music sounded in 1.
