Matthew Pahl Washburn 10 Posted March 14, 2013 I just finished my paythrough of the entire series, and I loved 3D, but what I'm trying to understand is, basically the entirety of the gameplay was Sora's dream? Meaning they didn't really awaken any of the sleeping worlds, or even visit them? Did I miss something, or is that what actually happened?
Demyx. 10,064 Posted March 14, 2013 All of that stuff happened. They were just in a different realm.
Weiss 8,279 Posted March 14, 2013 They did go to the sleeping worlds but Riku was in Sora's dreams acting as his dream eater.
Matthew Pahl Washburn 10 Posted March 14, 2013 They did go to the sleeping worlds but Riku was in Sora's dreams acting as his dream eater. So...... The sleeping worlds were inside Sora? I don't get it
lux 13 Posted March 14, 2013 The Sora's part of the game happened all in the Realm Of Sleep. The Riku's side of the game in the very begining was in the Realm Of Sleep than he went into Sora's dreams about the Dream worlds that Sora visited (apparently Nomura is a big fan of Inception) and in the end he was at the Real World that Never Was. Demyx. 10,064 Posted March 14, 2013 So...... The sleeping worlds were inside Sora? I don't get it The worlds are in the realm of sleep. You have to go to sleep to get there. Riku went insiide Sora's dream and acted as his dream eater. Since Sora was going through the realm of sleep he was also dreaming about the realm of sleep. Ruran 481 Posted March 14, 2013 Well most of the story took place in a dream realm but the events DID happen. The Realm of Sleep is its own place that one can only reach when they're dreaming. Both Sora and Riku were dreaming but there was a sort of "dream within a a dream" thing going on where Sora was being pushed further into sleep because the villains were trying get him to lose himself. When Sora was being lost Riku reentered the RoS but specifically through Sora's dreams since he had to be rescued.
Matthew Pahl Washburn 10 Posted March 14, 2013 Okay, so..... Sora's adventure actually happened in the Realm of Sleep whereas Riku was in some Inception twisted version of it? So, how were the TWEWY characters able to move between the two different versions of the RoS? Also, why were there versions of Traverse Town and Mysterious Tower within the RoS? And how did the Orginization get ahold of Sora to place him in TWTNW? You'd think that if he and Riku were asleep then they'd be kept watch over by Yen Sid and/or Mickey. The "science" of these games confuse me at times.

As for Traverse town and mysterious tower they were probably from a different time. And sora ends up in TWTNW thanks to the recussant sigil Xehanort put on him. I get where the sleeping worlds are and stuff, but I'd like to chime in and ask was The World that Never Was a sleeping world, or was it "awake"? Weiss 8,279 Posted March 14, 2013 (edited) I get where the sleeping worlds are and stuff, but I'd like to chime in and ask was The World that Never Was a sleeping world, or was it "awake"? The memory skyscraper part is not a dream and the rest is sleeping. Edited March 14, 2013 by Weiss
Columned-Munny 274 Posted March 14, 2013 The memory skyscraper part is real and the rest is sleeping. Thank you, I guess I need to rewatch those cutscenes. This is the first KH game to confuse me, haha.
Xaldin III 80 Posted March 14, 2013 The memory skyscraper part is real and the rest is sleeping. I think all of it was 'real.' Like Xigbar said, its not just stuff, its dreams. Think of the dreams as a parallel universe rather than a false simulation.

I probably should have worded that differently then. I'll fix that.
Matthew Pahl Washburn 10 Posted March 14, 2013 Well, I guess ill have to accept those explanations even though I'm still kinda confused by it. However, one more thing that confused me. The Musketeer world, as far as continuity goes the story of it (minus Riku and Sora's involvement) had to happen between Timeless River and BBS. However, Pete seems a lot more villainous than his BBS appearance. Also, Mickey states that the reason they're there is on a mission to protect the princess. So, why did Pete come along from their world, and what gives him authority to dub them as musketeers in that world? Also, I don't remember exactly if Minnie was in Timeless River, but if she does originate from Musketeer world, wouldn't bringing her to another world be meddling? And if she dud come from TR, why did she have to go to the other world in the first place? That whole world seemed like a continuity oversight.

It does seem kind of strange that Pete was forgiven for everything he did in Country of the Musketeers, even by Mickey and Minnie.

Possibly, the Minnie and Pete from Country of the Musketeers were alternate versions of themselves. Maybe Minnie came from there, but it definitely wasn't the smae Pete. Man, this series is confusing.
DawnWielderX 11 Posted March 17, 2013 TWTNW was a dream but not a sleeping world! Its was Sora's dream of it since dreams are actually memories. The Org. used a mark (Like GPS) on Sora's chest to "guide" him there. Riku went there because he was Sora's dream eater, You can tell if its real or not by their outfits Possibly, the Minnie and Pete from Country of the Musketeers were alternate versions of themselves. Maybe Minnie came from there, but it definitely wasn't the smae Pete. Man, this series is confusing. The world was asleep so it played repeat while the real characters continued on with normal life
