Sonic the Hedgehog 2013 Speculation

What titles do you think are going to be released this year? The first game Sonic game to kick it off this year was Sonic Dash, and Sega has plans for many other titles. I think we are going to see a Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode III and Sonic Adventure 3 this year. What do you think? Although I'm always right.

Sonic Adventure 3 is what I'm hoping for. Adventure fields like SA1 and action stages like SA2, and something brand new.

Not sure why people are pining for a Sonic Adventure 3 exactly. What makes a Sonic game worthy of the title 'adventure' anyway? Heck, dare i say Sonic 06' was more like Sonic Adventure than Sonic Adventure 2 ever was. I don't mind where Sega takes us quite frankly, I'm hoping for something completely new. I loved Generations and wouldn't mind another bash at this new boost/2D formula they have these days. Would be nice to control some other characters besides Sonic though.

My delusional hope is that since it's the 20th anniversary of SatAM, the game pays some sort of homage to it. Like finally making Sally a part of the game canon.

Yeah, I've been waiting for some of the SatAM characters to be included in the games for a while now. That might actually have a chance though.

OK, there's maybe some possibility it'll happen.

 

1. Sally's redesign in a future comic issue that gives more of a Sega-aesthetic. Though this probably just to make the comic more cohesive than a sign of Sega using her.

 

2. Sega incorporating minor elements of SatAM: Sonic now eats chili dogs & Sonic X basically copied how power rings worked in SatAM (as well as it's own version of Uncle Chuck)

 

3. Apparently Sally might technically be a game character after all. As it turns the animals you rescued in the genesis games have names & like Eggman to Robotnik, most of these names were changed in the NA/Europe versions. In the case of the squirrel Ricky, he got both a name & gender change to Sally Acorn. This is why there's a Sally as a minor character in the UK comic series, which incorporated the rescued animals directly into its story. Of course the rest of the SatAM/Archie aren't so lucky.

 

Of course Sega would probably just make the squirrel Ricky again, he appeared a few times in Sonic X...

I would so love for Sally to become a main and canon character, because this may get me some hate but I can't stand Sonic x Amy and actually think that Sonic wants to be with somebody more suited towards his age, and is less... fangirly. 

 

Antoine would be awesome too, his cowardly persona always made me laugh. Supposedly he got stronger in the comics, which is neat. Maybe they could start out with Coward-Antoine, and then end with braver- Antoine.

 

Ooooooh Fang the Sniper ! He needs to have a come-back and also Bean the Dynamite  !
