So, this is something that confuses me about the new generation.

Recommended Posts

Is the Wii U the start of the next generation, or is taking after it's predecessor? In terms of its hardware, the first Wii was closer to Gamecube/PS2/XBox, but in terms of when it came out, it was alongside the PS3/360.

Same goes for Wii U. Technically speaking, it is with the PS3/360 in it's hardware, but it comes in at the tale end of this current gen, making it closer to Next Gen at the time of it's release... it's just confusing. They released an old-gen system alongside the current, and released a current alongside the next. And it's not like Nintendo is behind, so much as their timing is way off. It's bizzare.

It's because lately Nintendo has been focusing more on gimmicky controllers, rather than making it a super charged next-gen console.

WHAT'S GIMMICKY ABOUT THE GAMEPAD???It's just a regular controller with a touch screen just like the DS3DS

Besides,if you're a graphic-whore who only cares about graphics more than gameplay, then don't buyplay Nintendo games

Wii U is part of the next gen and there is nothing you can do about it if you're butthurt about the console.

the Ps2 used to be the weakest in terms of Power but no one said a damn thing, now people are butthurt abput a console they didn't even try???

The whole fact that it's basically a tablet is a gimmick, what with touch screen and everything else tacked on. Just like those integrated features of the Vita.

And I think you misunderstood me, I like Nintendo a lot and I don't care about graphics. But that's where like half the money is going in they're consoles lately, to the controller. That's why the Wii itself wasn't much of an improvement, they focused more on motion control.

No need to get so worked up, the Wii U is a great console and it's definitely part of the 8th gen.
