Dio Brando 5,810 Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) I'm kinda curious to know how many of you are still watching the Pokemon anime. For me I've watched the Kanto and Johto seasons and they're still my favorite seasons....but I had to quit in the middle of the Hoenn season because of how idiotic Ash become and decided to watch the Pokemon movies.Thank God most of the movies were good. Right now I decided to watch the Unova seasons of Pokemon best wishes since I don't know what anime to watch currently especially when new animes decided to make panty shots and boob physics their key focus(I'm fine with fanservice as long as it isn't distracting....but new animes have way overdoing it) Edited March 6, 2013 by Metal Snake
Ruran 481 Posted March 6, 2013 Occasionally but it's more of a "if nothing else is on" sort of thing. I don't keep up with it regularly at all.
Shera Wizard 2,736 Posted March 6, 2013 not anymore. really. imo, it kinda lost it's touch after the Hoenn series, I watched all through D/P, Galactic Battles, and Sinnoh League victors but i was seriously not interested in Best Wishes. I kinda tightened my nostalgia goggles after Ash's voice underwent puberty /shot

Shera Wizard 2,736 Posted March 6, 2013 I never watched the DiamondPearl season but I did watch it's movies....is it worth watching or is it as bad as the Hoenn season??? It's okay ._. They still have Brock, now THAT is totally worth watching. And if you liked the movies, you might like the seasons too. But that's entirely up to you. Any season with Team Rocket and Brock is 100% worth watch Not at all biased opinion right here.
Henne 150 Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) Stopped wachting it during the Johto seasons. I did see some of the Hoenn ones, but was not interested in it again... It's always the same: Oh, look a [PKMN/Trainer] in [Random Trouble], let's help him/her and blow up Team Rocket, never mind if they tried to catch a wild PKMN - they are eeeeeivl. [some [random] PKMN blows them up]... and of course: It's the league of [Region] and Ash will try his best and [lose to a friend there], thus moving on to the next region. Oh, and [goodbye pedophilic eye candy, uh, girl]. Edited March 6, 2013 by Henne 1 Dio Brando reacted to this
Shazzam 142 Posted March 6, 2013 Yeah, I've watched all the seasons since Kanto. Currently I've been watching episodes that interest me with Best Wishes, and reading summaries for the others... I have high hopes for the next Region!

I really really LIKE BROCK and I got pissed when I know Brock wasn't in the Unova season....Team Rocket as far as I know they're in every single season in the anime if not every episode Lol. I already started Best Wishes so I might come back for the Sinnoh reason later or maybe watch it now and delay the Unova season for another time

Even though Ash didn't win it all, it had some intense battles!
WakelessDream 2,282 Posted March 6, 2013 I've watched Kanto~the very beginning of Sinnoh(or whatever came after Hoenn) I really liked watching Kanto and Johto, Hoenn was okay, but it was kind of pushing it for me. I don't really watch Pokemon anymore as after the Hoenn region it was getting way too childish for me to watch, and I kind of lost interest in it. I still try to keep up with the games though, when I have time to play them that is.
Columned-Munny 274 Posted March 6, 2013 I've recently been watching some of the old episodes thanks to the free Pokemon TV app. I tried to watch the new ones, but it seems to me the series has gone way downhill.
WakingDawn96 1,166 Posted March 6, 2013 I still do everything Pokemon. Pokemon is what I live for. I watch the show, the movies, and play the games. I really am starting to get mad at Ash, though, when he sees a Pokemon he knows and has to show the Pokedex for the younger viewers to understand what is going on. At least Mewtwo is finally returning in the new movie! (: 1 Dio Brando reacted to this

The problem with the anime now isn't being childish since Pokemon also targets young audience. My biggest problem with the anime now is how UNFAITHFUL to the game's source material it has become.Ash's stupidness is beyond belief that it makes a new trainer looks like a pro,he never uses his Pokedex effectively if not...AT ALL at this point. For some reason he never evolves his Pokemon and never trained his old ones like Charizard and Snorlax for the league, losing miserably in the process.Team Rocket turned from funny villians that i don't mind to see into annoying stupid losers that it's a chore to see them trying to catch PIKACHU OF ALL ELECTRIC POKEMON over & over & over even though it's easier to CATCH A PIKACHU IN THE WILD WITH A LITTLE SIMPLE POKEBALL,why do they have to catch Ash's Pikachu of all Pikachu's in the Pokemon world???? That's bullshit. I don't mind the show being for kids,BUT AT LEAST MAKE IT FAITHFUL TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL.I'm reading the Pokemon Adventure Manga that has Red.And Red still the awesome badass he was in the games, and the manga is more accurate and faithful to Pokemon more than the anime.Dude,I think that even Satoshi Tajiri himself never praised the anime once but He praised the Pokemon Adventure manga many times saying that it's a great retelling of the game's story. Whoever in charge for the writing of the anime needs to be FIRED
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted March 6, 2013 Annnnyways.... I only keep up with the movies, which reminds me: I need to find a few of them to add to my collection. Latias is best. That is all.
WhiteCrow 55 Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) No, I stopped watching right after Hoenn-arc Edited March 6, 2013 by WhiteCrow
wayfinder823 477 Posted March 6, 2013 I stopped half way through Hoenn when the cast got new voice actors, which is a shame, because I actually did like May, (which is a very unpopular opinion) but every episode was following the same plot sequence that it eventually felt like no plot at all. I think it would have been better if there was a greater sinister evil with Team Rocket/Magma/Aqua/whatever, or if Ash had other goals besides JUST winning badges and entering Pokemon Leagues. Also, in my humble opinion, it's always better when the writers can say, "this is the end" and END IT then to let it drag out until it is beyond dry. Also, aging would be a little nice. Rob 5,571 Posted March 6, 2013 Pokemon got boring for me at Hoenn(my least favorite region). I continued to watch up to Unova before Ash's 3rd badge. The amount of fillers that occurred made me lose interest completely(I should have stopped long before when I noticed Ash stopped saying he wanted to be a Pokemon master). Thus, no more watching Pokemon.

Whoever in charge for the writing of the anime needs to be FIRED Wait, I could have worded that better, I don't mean it's childish, because duh it's a show aimed toward a young audience. What I meant was I feel like I grew out of it. But yeah I agree with all the other things you said. If anything those were mostly factors that led me to lose interest in the show. Especially Team Rocket, and yes the way Ash acts now, it just became so redundant for me. So yea.

I still love the video games and I will love them.I can't get enough of HeartGoldSoulSilver and I can't wait to play Black & White 1&2 and Pokemon X&Y It's just the anime bullshit that's insulting to watch to any Pokemon fan.I can tell you that I know about Pokemon more than Ash could ever know and I love them even when they evolve unlike Ash who likes to make a kindergarden he can carry around. Other than the games .I recommend EVERY POKEMON FAN to read the Pokemon Adventure manga,it doesn't have Ash anywhere and all of the game's protagonist's(RedGoldDawnHelbirt....etc) are all there with epic battles and events that gets interesting with every chapter.Other than the movies don't waste your time on the anime, read the Pokemon Adventure manga. DragonMaster 1,166 Posted March 6, 2013 Stopped watching sometime into one of the Sinnoh Seasons (there were far too many episodes set in Sinnoh). I actually liked May and the Hoenn episodes (less after the voice actors change). Pretty much anything up to the end of Hoenn with me is good, then Battle Frontier is okay, then I lose interest. Most of the movies are still pretty decent, though. The worst one so far has been the Manaphy one. 1 Indecypher reacted to this
OmegaForte 1,674 Posted March 7, 2013 (edited) I stopped after the episode with the 7th gym leaders in the Hoenn arc. You all know what I'm talking about. I couldn't stand anymore the nonsense that started to happen. Frontier was the bellow the bottom line. (Voice actors, battles were ugh) I tried BW arc, got boring and annoying right away with Ash still acting so childish. (I agree with Iris on him being such a kid) Stopped again. I might give N season a chance, but probably will stop anyways. As for movies, stopped after Destiny Deoxys. Although I did watch Movie 10-11, and 13. Those were good.
