Hey there! These are the signups for my newest RP concept; The Experiment. It's a new world and concept unrelated to any game or show, if you read the brief below you'll learn more about the concept, and if you're at all interested, hopefully you'll sign up as well!

 

"In the modern day, everything seems as it should be. It is not. Every day the world refuses to agknowledge the prescence of those stronger than them. Smarter than them. Better than them. You see, what we think of as humanity is not entirely human. A very small percentage of them are more. They have abilities beyond normal capacity or even understanding. Flight, telepathy, elemantal control... you name it. Why do they have these abilities? No-one knows. Well, no-one except me. You may call me Xi. I know about these abilities, and I know who has them. Why do I know these things? I won't tell now, all in due time.

 

It is what I have done with this information that is worth telling you. I have kidnapped several of these "special" people. They've all been put on a small island- what was once a military base. It's made up of beaches and runways, bunkers and palm trees. There's more to this island than meets the eye, and that is why I've put these people here. They have been selected. Selected for The Experiment. They cannot leave until it is finished. Until I have what I seek from them. There is a secret to these people that even they do not know themselves; a secret more amazing than even their powers. So what is this secret? What is that I seek? It is time to find out. Through their interactions, through their compassion and their fury they shall play my game, and it is a game of which I shall be the only winner.

If that brief at all intrigues you, please read the rules and create a character, the more the better!

 

Rules

• The major rule is this; please enjoy yourself. Stick around as much as you can- the more that everyone posts the more the story can advance, so have a good time and don't be afraid to have your character make some strange or interesting decisions, it will only make the RP more interesting.
• Interact with other people. Please don't spend all your time having your character reflect on their troubled past or such. This RP is about the characters and their relationships and interactions, and it will work much better if you take an interest in the story being told by everyone, not just yourself.
• Your character's power cannot cause an unfair advantage over other players. Time-stopping is an exmaple of a power that could out-match just about any other one. Create your power, but make it limited, that will make it all the more interesting when powers are used against each other and fights are even.
• Go with the flow. People will make their own choices and the story will encounter a few twists and turns. It's more interesting when characters have to deal with thos twists naturally.
• General RP Rules of course apply.

Sounds interesting, I ponder if a super jet-jocky can somehow fit into this. I'll wait until some people sign up so I can see some accepted powers before creating my character...Hmmm. How about hyper-focus? (not necessarily time manipulation, everyone including my character physically slows down but his thought process speed, thought reaction, awareness, etc remains the same)? Or is that too mundane?

Optional Bio: Thanks to his power, Xander became the star basketball player of his school at a young age. He had learned to use his powers to make the ball go in almost everytime, he could even use it to help him dunk.

Appearance:(cant get pictures to upload, i'll just describe him) Short spiked, dark red hair, with a few streaks of black that wrap around his head, looking like he has a crown. wears a black long sleeve shirt, the left sleeve is red witha black stripe going around the wrist, the right sleeve has a red stripe around the wrist. Charcoal gray pants with two belts, on is a normal belt, the other hangs off as some sort fashion statement. Has two silver rings on his middle and ring fingers, one has words written backwards(i'll reveal what they say later)

 

Power: Kilek can turn his jaw into that of a giant shark's. His jaw has immense bite strength, able to crush steel support beams with ease. He gains superior strength when he grows his shark teeth, but not super human.

 

Bio: Kilek has always been told best his best feature was his smile. Until he saw one day that his teeth were pointed and serrated like a shark's! He though he was a freak, he didnt want anyone to find out about this and ran away from home at 16. over the two years, he learned to use this ability, but never wanted to go back to his "normal" life

Power: Rasiel can change into a demonic form of herself, resulting in a slight appearance change. She can also change any unliving/unreal object.

Bio: Rasiel doesn't have that hard of a past. She lives with her older brother whom she is very fond of. Rasiel does not speak of her father of any siblings. She is a very vivid Otome Game player. Otome games are video games played on a PSP in which the female player has to make their female character fall in love with the boy targets. It basically is a dating sim game for girls. She actually inherited a 'nickname' becase she plays these games all the time. Her nickname being 'Kagai Megami'. Rasiel plays Otome Games almost all the time, even at school. She is rather childish but can have a snappy attitude. She is usually seen with her brother, playing her PSP.

Her brother started putting restrictions on her playing her games. Rasiel has a blue choker around her neck that is hidden by her collar, and literally slightly electrocutes her when she plays her games over five hours. This collar was designed and is controlled by her bother. She usually doesn't let others know of her abilities, however she uses her abilities in battle. Rasiel also uses her abilities to get her way.

 

And if possible, I would like to make her brother.

Name: Sikota Urinakano

 

Age: 16

 

Gender: Male

 

Appearence: Tall and lean. He has messy brown hair with two tufts of hair that stick back reminiscent of an owl's ear tufts. Wears relatively tight-fitting clothes along with a brown cloak with a large collar which he can use to cover most of face. He also has yellow eyes.

 

Power: Sikota has exceptional sight. He eyes can not only pierce the blackest darkness, but even through certain solid objects. He hears almost everything in the radius of about half of a kilometer. He holds great strength and speed but can remain completely silent when moving. His cloak hides a pair of large brown wings that also move in total silence.

Appearence: Tall with short brown hair and pale skin. Wears glasses, a white t-shirt, black hoody, blue jeans,and tennis shoes. 

 

Power:Able to become intangible (can phase through stuff) at will.

 

Optional Bio: Orphaned at the age of five, Robert has spent most of his life so far living in an orphanage. He's often uncomfortable around new people and a bit eccentric, which is why he was never adopted. But he's also a deep thinker and kind to people once they get to know him. A big fan of Kingdom Hearts.

Power Mimicry- Ability to copy or absorb someone's powers or skills for
a given amount of time. Duplication (physical and temporal)- Ability to
create physical duplicates of herself and ability to bring past and
future versions of oneself back to the present, usually Rasiel brings
her past version of herself back to tempt people.

I like Duplication quite a bit, but having a character that has both that power and Power Mimicry (which is possibly overpowered in its own right) is a bit too powerful I'd say. If you could please edit your power section with something a bit more balanced then you're all good! Also, I'd have to limit the power of duplication in regards to the future as given the fact that a big cornerstone of the RP is discovering secrets it would sort of unbalance the story.

 

Like I said, though, everything else looks fine, just some quick edits. Also, feel free to put in a character sheet for her brother and I can approve that too.

 

 

 

Just so everyone knows, I'll try to begin the actual RP tomorrow!

Power: Wind.  (Would it be too strong of a super power if he could fly, too?)

Accepted! As for the wind/flying abilities I'd say combine them, in such a way thta maybe he's mastered using wind powers that he can practically use it to glide and technically fly.
