P50L 610 Posted February 26, 2013 I wonder what qualifies as illegal? Movies, Music, T.V, Games, etc
Oniaku 280 Posted February 26, 2013 Movies, Music, T.V, Games, etc I meant the methods used to obtain them, some methods are borderline and could go either way.

Columned-Munny 274 Posted February 26, 2013 This isn't surprising, I thought this sort of thing was already happening. My friend received a notice from her internet provider about this very topic months ago. It says that the company the media originates from has to file a complaint after detecting a violation. Anybody know how they go about detecting violations?
TerraRedeemed 255 Posted February 26, 2013 The article is specifically geared toward sharers or uploaders but they will likely start doing it to downloaders too
Hei 3,233 Posted February 26, 2013 Happy about this. If you like something then support it by buying it, don't torrent it off the internet for free.

Caity 3,946 Posted February 26, 2013 You'd think they'd realize they're fighting a losing battle. Even if people stopped downloading they can get samples, get stuff used (which benefits the seller and not the company), and listen to music on youtube or spotify or something. I'm surprised a universal license hasn't been applied where you pay a monthly fee for downloads instead. Also there's been studys to show that those who pirate typically are the ones who end up buying. They pirate to try it, and then download it to support it if they like what they got. Good point As long as they don't go WAY overboard with it, I guess it's alright 1 Shard the Gentleman reacted to this
axele 151 Posted February 27, 2013 I doubt that this will stop pirates from downloading, they'ii just be more sneaky and more clever about it.

VENROXAS 152 Posted March 3, 2013 SOPA. Why on earth did someone come up with you.... Jeeze... Most people can't afford to buy whatever it is and if they can they'd like to try it and most file sharing sites are for us to share files... so getting punished for using things these big companies put out for us to use....Makes no sense what so ever. Oh well I guess a lot more peole may go to jail for downloading something than actually committing a crime
Kaneki Ken 1,516 Posted March 4, 2013 ........ No matter how much punishment internet providers give, there will always be a way around.
