Final Fantasy 13

Just want to know some people opinions about FF 13.

I thought it was an ok game. Not the greatest. I enjoyed FF 9 & 10 more.

 

Also I think Sq Enix is wasting to much time on extending FF13. First FF13-2, and now Lightning Returns. Its getting boring playing with Lightning and the story is getting to confusing. 

Now i dont know much about FF versus 13 but i hope lightning is not in there.

The music is absolutely stunning! You can NEVER go wrong with the piano!Also: There're doing all those sequels because most if not every guy have the hots for Claire Farron.

I was skeptical about XIII before I tried it, and still was about an hour into it.  I'm almost finished with the game now, though, and I have to say it's pretty darn good.  I wasn't expecting to be a worthwhile game, which it really turned out to be.  The characters have immaculate depth, the story is well-thought out and interesting (I'm not going to say elaborate--because it's pretty shallow, but I still found it pretty intriguing and it made me want to watch the outcome.)  The soundtrack is awesome (Sunleth Waterscape rocks!)  and the visuals are stunning.  I think the only thing I didn't really care for about this game was the new combat system.  I didn't appreciate only being able to control one character, though I do like how you have the ability to choose that character later on in the game.  The paradigm shifts are confusing at first, but I've gotten to the point where I actually like them.  In addition, the crystarium leveling up method reminds me a great deal of the Sphere Grid from Final Fantasy X, which was one of my favorite things about that game, so I'm pretty happy a variation of it was included in XIII.

 

Overall, I think it was a great game.  Perhaps not the greatest out there, but I liked it a lot.

 

As for the sequels... I haven't played XIII-2 yet, so I can't really say whether sequels are worth it or not.  I know Final Fantasy VII's sequels were all praiseworthy and great additions to the original game, but X's sequel wasn't quite as successful.  So, really, I'll have to reserve my opinion on whether XIII should have so many sequels or not for when I play XIII-2; it really depends on what kind of a sequel it is.

I just beat it yesterday, it was great game that surpassed all my expectations. Since all I heard were harsh criticisms, I thought it just sucked, but on the contrary it was a thrilling ride. Now to get these trophies...

XIII-2, believe it or not, was the first FF i've ever played, and i loved it to death. I loved it so much, i became dedicated to making it my first Platinum, which i did. Im also done plating FFXIII-1 and i love the story and everything. The paradigm system was Genius, so was the crystarium. One of the only things i hated about XIII was that even though you have 3 party members in battle, you don't switch to them when the character you are controlling gets KO'ed. That's why i tend to play as Lightning/Fang as the leader, since they have amazing strength stats and don't die easy(unless your fighting an overpowered monster).

 

All in all, i think XIII and XIII-2 are good games, especially the graphics and music are amazing, i can't wait for Lightning Returns.

 

However, it seems on the internet that almost every person i meet who likes XIII, either hates XIII and loved XIII-2, or Hated XIII-2, but loves XIII. I can't find many people who like both games.

I LOVED XIII. I was a sucker for all the character development. The story was pretty good too up until Chapter 11 or so when things got complicated and confusing. Plus I really enjoyed the battle system. I missed that in XIII-2 when it was just Noel and Serah and a monster; it just wasn't the same as having three human beings/friends fighting together. But back on topic, the universe of XIII was great. Execution was linear but the story gave it reason to be like that. So I think it was a really good game. Not perfect by any means, but it holds a special place in my heart.
