TwiliLord 232 Posted February 15, 2013 I grew up in Europe, so military time kinda just stuck to me even after I immigrated here to Americurr. My phone, computer, and alarm clock are all set to military time.To me, military time just makes more sense. There's 24 hours in a day, and 00:00 (midnight) signifies a new day. BTW: neat trick I learned for reading military past time past 12 (noon). Let's say it is 19:00, which is 7:00 PM. Subtract 2 from 19 and you get 17. The second digit is always the hour in PM time. Same with 23:00 (11 PM). 23 minus 2 is 21, so the second digit corresponds with 11. 1 axele reacted to this

TwiliLord 232 Posted February 15, 2013 too much math... Oh come on, anyone can subtract by 2. You're just mathematically lazy.

axele 151 Posted February 15, 2013 Military ! I love Military time ! I find it to be so much easier than the normal time telling. You can just say 14 : 00 instead of quarter past whatever ever.

Think Pink 1,967 Posted February 15, 2013 Military time, because literally all of the digital clocks in my house are set to it. My Dad's a veteran and big military buff, so he thinks it's good for me to learn now instead of when I'm in the Marines. It seems more logical to me, and easier to calculate. 1 Indecypher reacted to this

Weedanort 8,786 Posted February 15, 2013 Military time. I grew up using it, and it's really weird to me when people say "It's 2 PM", or something like that. 1 Indecypher reacted to this

Amon 4,279 Posted February 15, 2013 AM/PM there is no need for military time, AM/PM is a lot more simple, just like the Metric System. The most simple solution is the best solution. Human's make mistakes, the more opportunity you give them to make mistakes, the less effective the system is. Sure all you need to do is subtract by 12 or subtract by 2 and remove the first number, but twelve hour cycles in the day is so much easier. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. 1 Indecypher reacted to this
dusk 910 Posted February 15, 2013 Military time. So much easier and simpler than AM/PM. 1 Indecypher reacted to this
DragonMaster 1,166 Posted February 16, 2013 AM/PM. Maybe its because I grew up using it, but it just makes sense to me. To be honest, both systems seem really simple. Neither of them are that hard. Heck, going between them is even pretty easy (much more so than going between the Metric and English measurement systems). 1 Indecypher reacted to this
