KH3D Who was Ursula sent by?

Recommended Posts

The game called it Phantom Ursula, and Sora asked if it was the test. I'm assuming Yen Sid created a projection of Ursula to challenge them, making for a good beginning tutorial and her character just fit the stormy sea thing.

I didn't know they called her phantom ursula thanks for the info

Yeah, it was just a test sent by Yen Sid, it seems like. I wonder why they used her though...it seemed pretty darn random. I mean, it fit the mood, but it was kinda strange overall

Nomura logic

Personally I wasn't too bothered about what she was doing there, was still really excited to actually be playing th egmae to think about it >_<

^ This. I think we all just got on with beating the snot out of her and wondered why she was there later....

I think this makes the most sense, actually.  I also hadn't realized she was referred to as Phantom Ursula, either.

From the Kh wiki, dunno if they are right though:

After Riku and Sora head out on their raft from the Destiny Islands to begin their Mark of Mastery Exam, Ursula rises out of the ocean in her giant form following the sudden strike of a storm, shocking both Keyblade wielders. She reveals that she was sent by "someone" who knew where Sora and Riku were, then destroys their raft and begins attacking them with her tentacles and magic. When Ursula is defeated, her destruction causes a whirlpool to drag Sora and Riku underwater and towards the Keyhole to Traverse Town.

I think Xehanort sent her there, just some sort oif distraction to separate Riku from Sora maybe?

i don't think it was Yen Sid, because it seemed like a trap or ambush by the way she said it. "He was right!" i mean, Yen Sid would just send her there not tell anything to her...

But it's not really expalined and not that imporant to the story I guess.

I don't think its important...but since it happens right before they enter the dream world...meh, it's really a toss-up between Yen Sid and Xehanort. Since its a phantom...and occurs before Sora and Riku actually enter the dream world, I'm inclined to think it was Yen Sid's doing. This incident seems to spark them entering the dream world...but at the same time, Xehanort had control over all of that..Sora in the dream worlds, I mean... .>.< my brain hurts.
