jtshiro 14 Posted February 17, 2013 If it makes sense 3D was probably the better "game," but BBS was my choice. BBS was just a more satisfying game to play and was easier to get emotionally invested in the story and characters, while 3D meandered along and teased things that never got paid off despite having my favorite iteration of the combat system in the series
Theforgottenpuppet14 1 Posted February 17, 2013 Thing is... BBS's story is muuuch better than DDD's. But I felt the controls and gameplay of DDD were better than that of BBS. One thing I feel is that just watching all of the cutscenes of BBS is better than playing through it. It kinda drags out playing it after a while I think I feel this way because of how lacking the PSP is. On the PS3 BBS could've been sooo much more in pretty much every way. By the looks of things KH III won't be for PS3 Which means all the PS3 will probably get is the 1.5 HD Remix. BBS could've been the only KH game originally made for the PS3 only. Yet we're stuck playing it on a small screen BBS had a much more emotional ending than that of DDD. Even though DDD had a lot more twists and surprises... it didn't tick the box on emotions you normally get in KH. I cry at pretty much every game :') But not DDD. So I guess overall BBS beats DDD. Still, at least it'll be on 2.5 with hopefully improved controls.

Silent 824 Posted February 17, 2013 birth by sleep was way better. flow motion got old fast and the keyblades sucked in that game.

venxas24 544 Posted February 17, 2013 Goods things about each BBS: Multiple chracter story mode, Mirage Arena,Challenging secret bosses, great story DDD: Multiple character story mode, continued story after KH2, flowmotion There are obviously more but the's are what I think are the main best things IMO so BBS got my vote
Enmaa 124 Posted February 17, 2013 BBS, didn't play KH3d
deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted February 18, 2013 Hm...really hard to choose, they were both really great. I honestly don't think flowmotion is all that, so that's not really a factor...I'd have to go with DDD. It was good to finally be Sora again, and to have Riku finally get over himself and become badass once again. I missed command melding a lot, but getting abilities through the dream eaters was a very interesting direction that added a nice difficulty to the game. Having said that, I'd probably prefer command melding in the future, or something entirely different, which it will probably be. Also the ending for DDD, and enemies that actually have large health bars. BBS was too much of a cakewalk most of the time, especially when you got to the final bosses (true for most Kingdom hearts games...). Ansem was a pretty good challenge, as was YX (I have yet to get to them on critical mode, almost there^^ but they were pretty good at normal, which is rare when I play KH games). I do miss shotlocks...but perhaps they helped make things a little too easy (I shamelessly spammed prism rain at times...probably why I breezed through tbh...). DDD did lack...something because the were taking their test in the dream world; I can't quite put my finger on what was missing though...I loved all of the worlds and stories, even if they didn't quite make sense (Mysterious Tower is dubious at best, apparently existing and not existing at once; Nomura said in-between worlds like that were unstable, and the tower supposedly changes a lot...and Land of the Musketeers makes literally no sense whatsoever. Every inhabitant of Disney Castle is on some other world at once? Yeah, okay.) Also, the greatest ending ever by trollanort and Lea's heroic rescue. TAV had great endings, but...they were sad, sacrificial endings that were kind of mute. Terra's wasn't even sacrifical. Always sort of takes a bit of the power away...though they were still sad and awesome. Yeah I'm done.
