hey guys, I know we haven't posted progress in a while. Everyone has
been really busy with life and all i guess. Anyway, I had some free time
so i decided to work on kiaru. I'm almost done with the textures. just
remains a few minor tweaks here and there. i also have to fix his hair
and redo some part of the hair textures. anyway, here is a pic of my
progress. I'll probably rig him and throw him into the game engine later
this week. and hopefully have game play to show later in the month. ^^

first of all, my name is chuks and i just recently joined the forums . i was thinking that it would actually be cool if there was an actual working kingdom hearts fan game. so i was thinking maybe we could actually come together to make it a reality.

if you feel that you have any skills that you can contribute feel free to join in. .

for example: if you are a writer and you have a story that relates to the concept you can share it

I have no skills, well besides recon due to mentioning the other game. I thought I was fairly decent writer, as I intended to help with a Kh abridged series but that fell through. I have no stories uploaded on here though. Even though I don't have a story that relates to the concept writing for it could be fun, if you don't have anyone else with credentials that is.

ok guys i'm not that good of a writer but this is what i have in mind. The game should take place like 10 years after events that took place in KH2. so the original characters would be all grown up. I intentionally didnt want them to appear in the game but we can probably have like 3 to 5 characters appear in the game to serve as fan service. we can come together and vote for the ones who whould appear. After that is done we can then come up with concepts and their new look.

it depends from what angle you're asking. Do you mean playable characters or characters relevant to the story.

How did you make that model on your first post chuksxy?

i made the model in blender which is a free 3d modelling app. i've been learning 3d modelling in my leisure time for over a year and a half so i've gotten pretty good at it. i made the model using the box modelling technique in blender, baked AO to give me some nice shades and painted the textures using my intuos tablet in Photoshop.

 

@Mr. Mancer that would be great. Maybe we can finally make progress.

@Mr. Mancer i originally wanted the Academy to be located somewhere in the land of departure but not the original building where ven, Terra and aqua trained. but feel free to decide by yourself. after all it's a group project ^_^

While I was typing this I hit the back button and lost everything I had written, so if you want my reasoning just ask and I might feel like typing it again. If not here's my vote for who should return. If it's 3: Lea, Aqua, and Riku. If it's 5: Lea, Aqua, Riku, Sora, and Kairi.

I didn't go with who my favorites were, as I'd prefer Roxas over Riku but I might explain that next time. My point is, unless you want to program multiple fighting styles it might be easier to stick with keyblade wielders for now.

You should consider editing your first list of requirements or ask a mod to delete it if this is the one that is most up-to-date. I still included mine just in case above. By guy and girl, if you mean as a couple I'd go with Sora and Kairi. If I remember correctly Roxas has a hate club, and I don't want to go looking for each characters hate clubs for now so yeah just going off old info. Although, I'd like him and Namine or even Xion more. Speaking of Xion, that might cause gender confusion/issues. I don't like Terra as much as Sora but him and Aqua might be the most liked couple overall.  Trying to remain objective but that's my vote. If not romantically involved, Lea and Aqua.

what i meant was that the game is going to be based on our original made up characters but  some characters from the original series would make an appearance to serve as fan service.

 

As far as playable characters is concerned, they are going to our own original made up characters. Probably a guy and a girl. 

 

as for Main Characters relevant to the story, for now this would include the two playable new original charcaters we come up with and 4 other new fan made characters.

(As we go further we can add more)

as for now, we cant make all the main characters of the original game appear (the lights) cause i would have to make 3d models of all of them in blender and this would be very time consuming becuase i'm also working on another separate game project.

 

the returning charcaters from the original game would serve as teachers at the academy.

 

so i would hold a poll to see which returning charcaters people want to see in the game. 3 for now. if we make much progress we can add more.

 

so we can brake the story into chapters. The characters that appear in the first chapter of the story are the ones who would appear in the first chapter of the game. The chapter can be of any length. The Main things to consider for the chapter is that  we are limited to 9 characters in  total. 6 original characters we come up with and 3 from the orignal kingdom heart series.
