A few days later I become a Project Manager, it also gave me my first taste at moderating forums (not counting a time when DChiuch made me delete some spam I made......). 

Ahhh, so is THAT how you got all those warning points you displayed in a screenshot once?  haha!  For some reason, I just can't imagine you doing that...  I guess I'm not all that imaginative.

 

Very interesting story; it sounds like you really had to work hard for your promotion.  D'you still think it paid off?

Interesting story, I guess it goes to show you that hard work pays off. ^_^ You certainly have moved up throughout the years haven't you? What is your next goal on KH13? I am also quite interested in reading about what was on those mysterious DVDs that DChiuch sent you.

How Sora96 joined the staff - Part Three

 

DChiuch sent me two DVDs in September 2010. The first one had all (265 or something) of the Birth by Sleep, English cutscenes. I needed to upload them to MediaFire. I uploaded most of them to MediaFire with DChiuch uploading the remaining cutscenes. The second DVD had all 99 cutscenes from both Re:Chain of Memories' Japanese and English versions (in total 198 videos). In November (I think) I uploaded them all to YouTube. You can see all my hard work in our video archives.

Up next was KH13.com V3. I helped set up a lot of the pages using WordPress (WordPress is awesome!) while I was at it I improved the pages by adding anything missing. The pages included games, characters, worlds and more. KH13.com V3's launch was very exciting. You're using it right now! 

 

DChiuch decided to turn the staff positions into teams. "Forum Moderator" became "Forum Team" and my position "Gallery Manager" was changed to "Gallery Team". To this day, myself, DChiuch and Aaron are the only people to have ever worked on the gallery. I don't think Aaron ever did anything on it after I was made "Gallery Manager". Thanks to me, Aaron get's away with doing hardly any work on KH13. Haha.

 

For the next few months I focused on uploading a lot of content to the gallery. Later in 2011, we reached 10,000 images. A great achievement.

Your story is simply fascinating to read. It seems like you accomplished a lot before I ever even became a member here.  I know I would have absolutely  no idea how to perform any of the tasks assigned to you.   I am very interested in the secrets you are going to reveal in your next chapter. Haha, that type of thing doesn't really exist. Haha. 

 

But hey, all the cutscenes from Birth by Sleep's English version and both Re:CoM's Japanese and English versions is pretty good considering those are the only KH games I don't have.

This is pretty cool to hear. I knew it took alot of work to become moderator, but i never thought it would be THIS MUCH!!! Its nice to see all the trials you had to face in order to become the amazing moderator you are now.

This is about how I joined the staff, and my promotions throughout the years and basically my story. It's not about me becoming a moderator. I actually didn't become a moderator until a few months ago.

Oh, lol sorry about that. I just got into the story and i thought that was what it was about. But its still pretty cool to hear how you joined the staff anyway, but now i can see that it takes so much work. Really shows how hard you worked to get those promotions.

This following part is quite personal, so I won't say everything. Only a very select few people on KH13.com know what truly happened. You guys won't find out as much as them. But what you'll read is quite enough I believe.

 

How Sora96 joined the staff - Part Four

 

For the next few months everything went well. Until June 2011.

 

I started feeling really sick on-and-off with symptoms occurring most of the time. And in late June, when what was going on really reached it's peak, I was in a lot of pain in stomach. Obviously I just assumed it was a gut ache or something. But it turned out to be a lot worse. Despite all this I continued my work on KH13.com. One night I was uploading the Kingdom Hearts II, Japanese pre-rendered cutscenes to YouTube and Vimeo whilst in a lot of pain. DChiuch never ended up adding them to the video archives basically saying he'd rather have an actual archive up then just ten or so major cutscenes from the game. The following day I went to my GP (Doctor), and I was sent to hospital. I was stuck there for the following seven days (I was able to leave twice for a few hours though.) I told DChiuch, Aaron and Cricket what happened. But no one else on the Internet.

 

At the time DChiuch wanted me to backup the gallery along with upload some trailers and commercials to Vimeo (they contained Utada music). I didn't want too, but I still did. My work on the video archives pretty much came to an end at that point as I didn't feel like doing it anymore. A week or so later, DChiuch needed help with uploading the Kingdom Hearts II, English cutscenes to YouTube (these are what you currently see in our video archive. Sexy quality. And the highest quality on the Internet!). Unfortunately, DChiuch could not find anyone except Lu Xun. He asked me to continue my work on the video archives considering how great I did on it. I decided to do so. And I uploaded most of the Kingdom Hearts II, English cutscenes to YouTube and Vimeo (Opening & Ending). Following that, we did most of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix's new cutscenes and then Kingdom Hearts, English cutscenes.

 

The fifth and final part of how I joined the staff will conclude 2011 and tell of the biggest challenge I have ever faced on KH13.com. And I've faced a lot, including some people who acted horribly to me at different times.

I am glad that you recovered from your illness, and that you are fine now. I like how even though you were in agonizing pain, you worked hard to make the site's video gallery awesome.  I look forward to reading your next post soon. Especially because I was not present on this website until 2012.

In late 2010, DChiuch asked me to subtitle the Re:coded, Japanese cutscenes (using the translations of the coded cutscenes). And I did it. I subtitled all the Re:coded, Japanese cutscenes in English. I also uploaded them to YouTube without subtitles. 

 

In early 2011, I uploaded the Birth by Sleep Final Mix cutscenes and boss battles along with the Re:coded, English cutscenes to YouTube. I also subtitled a cutscene from Birth by Sleep Final Mix in English.

Wow, sorry to hear that your trip to fame wasn't as smooth as it appeared from earlier entries.  On a side note, I do hope your issue has been corrected and that you're no longer suffering from an illness.

 

Thanks for sharing your biography on joining the staff, by the way.  It's been fun to read a "true" story by a person reflecting back on things.  (Not to mention you're doing this with a nice dramatic story-telling flair. )

How Sora96 joined the staff - Part Five

 

In October 2011, something happened. I felt disrespected, I felt the community didn't know about all the work I did for the website. I felt like a lot of people saw me as "an annoying, Australia loving person who uploaded images to the gallery and kissed up to DChiuch and the mods." I talked to Cricket about it, and she gave me the confidence to tell DChiuch. I sent DChiuch a PM, it was quite long, and told him what I thought. To highlight the most important parts, I said "I do more for this website than anyone else, except you of course. My current position "Gallery Team" does not give me the respect I deserve." (Please note this is rewritten as I don't have the PM any more. But it means the exact same thing.)

 

DChiuch agreed with everything I said. So a new position was in order. We agreed on "Website Team". I was promoted, and this topic was made: http://kh13.com/forum/topic/24206-sora96-upgraded-to-website-team/. My colour "Purple" was turned "Bold' as was the Forum Team and Administrator colours. 

 

Everything was going smoothly until December.....

 

Someone else was going to join the Website Team. This person was Lu Xun.  I felt disrespected, threatened, I'm not sure exactly how to put it in one word. Basically  I felt like he was getting everything I worked so hard for because DChiuch basically said we needed the help. I worked hard for two years to help DChiuch get KH13.com in the position it was in. I finally got the recognition I deserved and two months later he was getting it like it was just a position DChiuch threw out to people who were on multiple teams. DChiuch explained to me, the purpose of the team was for people on multiple teams. I still didn't like the idea, but I accepted it and moved on. I still have feelings about it to this day. But I've accepted it, moved on and acted like a professional and worked with Lu Xun whenever I needed too. In 2012 we set up the Interview archive in January 2012. And later worked with JTD95 on some data entry's for playthroughs. Some which are in our archive now, and some that will probably be added after HD 1.5 ReMIX.

 

The Website Team was renamed to the News & Content Team. And in December I finally became a moderator. DChiuch, the Forum Team and I guess Aaron decided I was ready to finally become a moderator. In the past I wouldn't have been ready for it. But I knew I was finally ready for the duty and so did they.

 

These days, I still help DChiuch whenever he needs me too. I regularly post news, upload images to the gallery, edit pages on the website, help Lu Xun with the Poll of the Day when action is required or he needs me to post it, moderate the Website forum, help Kirby with the Introduction forum and more. And soon I'll be able to actually edit the video archive.
