Another question, why doesn't Sora remember his parents? Why doesn't he miss them. I realize it isn't pertininent to the overall story. But I don't know anyone who wouldn't miss there parents after being whisked away and not being able to see them for a year (or two).

 

He probably does miss them; of course, when destiny calls, you have to pick up the phone, sad or not. I'm almost certian that he was concerned about his parents, but he was more concerned about Riku and Kairi, because he COULD do something about it. They were whisked away too.

That's just it, we don't know what happened to them. We can assume that they took sanctuary in Traverse Town and then returned to Destiny Islands once it returned, but mainly it's a mystery that will be explained in KH3.

I think Sora assumed that only the play island was destroyed, since that's where he last was, and not the main land. Hence, him also only being concerned for Kairi and Riku, and none of his other friends either, because they were the only ones on the play island as well.

Sora riku and kairi had disappeared. When the world fell into darkness everyone forgot Sora and Riku and Kairi. They were able to remember kairi when she returned but she forgot sora and riku, though not completely.So when sora and riku returned it was as though they had never left, because their existence on destiny islands was forgotten even by their own parents.When they returned, then maybe their parents remembered and like i said, it was as though they never left. It's kinda like how they appear in hollow bastion in kh2 and find out that everyone had forgotten them until recently.It's also possible that Namine' took care of everyone's memories to keep sora's journey a secret.

 

Um, no one forgot Riku or Kairi. They only forgot Sora because Namine had to repair Sora's memories, which caused everyone to temporarily forget him. But since that didn't happen to Kairi or Riku, they were still remembered when the worlds were restored at the end of KH 1.

 

No, I'm talking about Sora.Sora was on Destiny Islands after KHII for most likely a few days and then took off to Yen Sid's crib. By the time KHIII begins, it could be two years. You neve rknowMy other theory of his parents dead also comes into play about how they never found him in Twilight Town or the Islands.

 

Im pretty sure Sora stayed more than a couple days. He must have stayed at least a couple months. I doubt he would leave his home so quickly after it was brought back from the darkness.

Sora: *seething mad* Stop saying that...about my parents!

 

Xehanort: But it is true, is it not? Now, I am feeling particularly generous today. Accept defeat, and you and your parents can run free, at the cost of your friends, of course. But if you do not, their lives will be taken for my use. Choose wisely, 'keyblade master.'

Riku: Sora.

 

Sora: *turns to Riku*

 

Riku: It's alright if you choose your parents over us. We'll make it through.

 

Everyone else: *nods and murmurs in agreement*

 

Sora: Thanks, but...I can't take the risk of you getting hurt, or worse.

*turns to captured parents*

Sora's Parents: *look at him compassionately, then nod and smile*

 

Sora: *looks back to Norty* *le growl* *epic summon of keyblade*
