Ever wonder what happened to Sora's parents? Kairi's? Riku's? In the first game we hear Sora's mom say, "Sora! Dinner's ready! Sora?" Later, Sora dissappeared. The world fell to darkness. But what happened to his parents? Did they cease to exist while the world was consumed in darkness? Did they forget they even had a son?

This wondering came to me when I was sleeping.

Destiny Islands and Twilight Town are more likely then not the same world, because of KHII. Sora most likely lived in Twilight Town but forgot about it because it changed over the 2 years he was gone.

That or his parents are dead. (Batman can relate)

Everyone in Destiny Island but Sora, Riku and Kairi kinda ceased to exist, but not died. When Sora killed Ansem, everything returned to normal, meaning they came back, but they porbably forgotten they had a son, they propbably forgot Sora, because no one rembembered about him but Kairi (a little) and Riku.

You're talking about Roxas. BTW, Sora was only gone ONE YEAR, not two.

My opinion is this: Darkness is picky on who it wants to take. While Sora and the others were whisked away to different worlds, their parents may not have been so lucky. For all we know, one of the heartless we destroyed could have been Sora's parents, or Kairi's, or Riku's. Perhaps they were restored by Sora, Riku, or maybe even Kairi. Perhaps they haven't been restored yet. Perhaps their heart merely faded away. Either way, Destiny is not left to chance.

Sora riku and kairi had disappeared. When the world fell into darkness everyone forgot Sora and Riku and Kairi. They were able to remember kairi when she returned but she forgot sora and riku, though not completely.

So when sora and riku returned it was as though they had never left, because their existence on destiny islands was forgotten even by their own parents.

When they returned, then maybe their parents remembered and like i said, it was as though they never left. It's kinda like how they appear in hollow bastion in kh2 and find out that everyone had forgotten them until recently.

It's also possible that Namine' took care of everyone's memories to keep sora's journey a secret.

Ah, but see, how is it possible that a person can cease to exist but not die? Unless they are protected somehow, like with Joshua and the crew of TWEWY, a person must die in order to cease their existance. That's why Master Eraqus said 'but you must exist no more' instead of 'but you must die.'

Also, Riku was never forgotten, because his memories were not tampered with. It was only Sora who was forgotten. Namine was not forced to tamper with both of Sora and Riku's memories, just Sora's.

No, I'm talking about Sora.

Sora was on Destiny Islands after KHII for most likely a few days and then took off to Yen Sid's crib. By the time KHIII begins, it could be two years. You neve rknow

My other theory of his parents dead also comes into play about how they never found him in Twilight Town or the Islands.

You know, they didn't die... killing Ansem wouldn't bring anyone from the dead. It's like they went to a non-existing place, the world "disappeared" along with its citizens

Another question, why doesn't Sora remember his parents? Why doesn't he miss them. I realize it isn't pertininent to the overall story. But I don't know anyone who wouldn't miss there parents after being whisked away and not being able to see them for a year (or two).

It really doesn't matter to the story, so it's not mentioned in gameplay, but I'm sure he misses his parents

What are you talking about? Sora living in TT? That never happened... Sora only thinks he knows the world because of Roxas, hw didn't went there until KH2. And since he wnet there on KHII it's only one year, not two.

When he first arrvies in TT he only cares about: Kairi and Riku (no love for Wakka, Selphie and... uh... who ever the last kid was again), "his" island (his parents must be rich) and that's it, iirc

You know, it would be killer if his parents are introduced in KH3 during an ultimatum delivered by Master Xehanort:

Xehanort criticizes Sora for forgetting about his parents in favor of his friends and offers him a choice; either he destroys his friends or destroys his parents.

...Now THAT would be simply cruel.

In my case the parents may not be important in this game because only sounds the Voice of Sora's Mother about his dinner is ready and the other clue about his parents is when Terra meets Riku and Riku talked about Sora's father, so for me the parents are not very important to me in this game of course........

The mark of mastery couldn't have taken that long. It was only seven worlds, and each world could have only taken about an hour. Also, Sora never truely lived in twilight town. His nobody did, to a certian extent, but he himself did not. For one year, he was asleep because his memories needed repairing. Before then, he was wandering around in a grassland trying to find a way to another world.

Also, we don't know whether or not his parents found him or not, or if they were even dead anymore by the end of KH2. For all we know, he could've just waltzed right into his house and his parents could have been there making dinner or something.

Then how come he could see the Islands through his window, across a body of water; just like you can in Twilight Town. :) Edited by Uncle Dolan

I'd assume that Sora would try to explain everything when he got back during KHII, but I don't know how well that'd work out. Or maybe, since MX disappeared so long ago, they're just used to kids up and leaving?
